  1. Because they tend to start them out conservatively coming off injury in order to build/boost confidence... before the much more challenging AA placement. All development is not linear. And High A to AA the biggest jump on talent level a young player has to overcome. Especially Southern League with some of those much bigger parks compared to Charlotte.
  2. Moncada did that deliberately just to change the baserunners? Can't believe it. Think he just completely lost it.
  3. I'm sure he didn't want to answer direct media questions whether he was in the concussion protocol for being knocked out on his feet, essentially.
  4. Robert seems pretty much oblivious to everything going on around him. Andrus would be in HoF if his entire career was at Jacobs/Progressive. Wow. 5/8 this weekend.
  5. “I felt I was able to land one,” Ramírez said through a translator. “He’s been disrespecting the game for a while,” Ramírez added. “When he does something like that on the bases (knock someone's hand off the base), he can get somebody out of the game. So I was telling him to stop doing that. After he tapped me really hard, more than needed, he said he wanted to fight and I had to defend myself.” Anderson was not available for comment afterward. Francona wasn’t exactly sure what prompted the Anderson-Ramírez bout, but said that before the brawl, Anderson had been told by one of the umpires to stop jawing at Guardians rookie Gabriel Arias. On Friday night, Anderson pushed Guardians rookie Brayan Rocchio off the bag at second following a slide, leading to a call that was controversially reversed by the umpires. https://www.kold.com/2023/08/06/anderson-ramrez-facing-suspensions-after-fight-6-ejections-wild-white-sox-guardians-brawl/
  6. Final Sox/Guardians game of 2023 “From the second I set foot in the clubhouse, I could tell these teams don’t like each other,” said Cleveland starter Noah Syndergaard, who was acquired in a trade last week. “And I don’t think it’s going to be resolved anytime soon.”
  7. Going to be shocked if the Guardians don't blow the Sox out of the water in this one...not going to believe the Sox are galvanized/united for one second this season.
  8. The fact that more time was spent addressing Eloy getting spiked or stepped on or shoved than TA once again being right in the middle of yet another national controversy...
  9. "I feel like Tim Anderson disrespects the game" according to Ramirez's response to broadcaster Tom Hamilton relayed on pregame interview with Terry Francona. First career game Ramirez was ejected. Apparently started with Anderson trash talking Gabriel Arias and being told to cut it out by umpires earlier.
  10. Metaphorical punch out of Hahn's Sox GM career...best angle
  11. Garland refused that one time. Hard to get Scholtens involved in this. Plus he isn't exactly a flame thrower.
  12. Don't forget Phil Rogers....

  14. Well, we only got 2 can’t miss prospects in Cease/Giolito in hindsight because Moncada Jimenez Kopech and Lopez haven’t lived up to previous billing. So that doesn’t provide much hope if the success rate on “can’t miss” is only 33%.
  15. By that argument, we only have one 2+ fWAR starting player in Robert, because it’s quite easy to find the flaws all across the roster. If they’re not right on any of these pitchers, the rebuild is pretty much dead before it even got restarted.
  16. Shades of Torii Hunter. Personally I'm not celebrating...hopefully he does start turning his frustration into better play on the field and less talk though.
  17. jp reed 50 minutes ago Maybe we need a brawl Sox/guardians style to fire things up. I'd love to see Kimmy right hook Graterol and knock him on his ass like Tim Anderson
  18. That was the headlock part....the same way he'd deal with a farm animal.
  19. Tatis had two surgeries this offseason but they might have finally jolted the Padres alive now. Leave it to Kelly to be involved somehow. 6-3 SD Now 8-3....was 1-3 LAD starting the inning. Mirror of FRI night's game.
  20. From all the cattle/calf wrestling and tying on the old farm in Alvin...
  21. not sure how intentional Ramirez's right cross was there wn he was basically just falling down and flailing away...got lucky it sort of halfway connected
  22. As close as it gets...
  23. Bummer always finds new ways to make the late innings more interesting than they should be.
