Burger to the outfield???
Max Muncy Jr.

Burger to the outfield???
90-95% of the time the switch occurs from middle infield to corners. He doesn't have the range or lateral quickness and can't even imagine him on double play turns coming across bag and throwing back across his body. Bad bad bad idea.

Frazier to be called up
"The scouting report on Frazier was no secret to the Yankees when they acquired him from the Cleveland Indians. He’s athletic. His hands are lightning-fast. He’s also … really not good on defense. After his first stint at the major league level, the word “liability” got thrown around so much, it almost negated anything he could’ve possibly achieved offensively." yanksgoyard.com He was once more of a CFer coming up... and definitely doesn't have a RF arm. Of course, that didn't stop them from playing Pollock Sheets Vaughn Eloy etc. from being sent out there, either.

They already gave up on this idea after trying it in the minors...

Literally and figuratively...

Haseley after his starring game is back down in 500s for OPS. Still better than Sosa or Romy.

Okay. Well, that's the thing about baseball. It's a what have you done for me lately sport. Look at Robert and Burger right now. Or Joe Kelly. Recency bias. It's definitely crushing Tim Anderson right now, or Jose Abreu. A year ago, Giolito and Jose Berrios were at the very bottom of MLB... where Kopech was until yesterday (now 70/73 out of qualified.) Another example, 2-3 years ago, the Brewers wouldn't have traded Keston Hiura for anyone. "PHOENIX -- Keston Hiura remains in the Milwaukee Brewers organization. After the Brewers couldn't find a trade fit for the infielder and former top prospect over the weekend, he cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday." Still surprised Hahn thought Sosa Andrus Romy would be better at second. Well, perhaps surprised isn't quite the right word.

Official NBA 22-23
Pippen was some great scouting too. Of course no Rodman without the presence of MJ and Scottie. (And now Larsa Pippen dating Jordan's son haha. Drama.)

5/20 Royals @ Whitesox 1:10 start. Giolito VS Lyles
All that said, Ahmed Rosario is the best SS in this year's FA class. Yuck. He was very good in 2022, but that entire offense in CLE is putting too much pressure on themselves with all the pitching issues (back of pen now too)... and Rosario will have to deal with trade rumors should they struggle to get back to .500 the next 6-8 weeks.

Even the Braves were not willing to give that contract to their own player. Just too inconsistent offensively. Great defender, though. 9 times out of 10 the players the ATL farm system keeps churning out is what allows them to compete year in and year out for decades.

When he was drafted, a lot of scouts were actually claiming his T-bar hitting style with arms/elbow/loading mechanism would limit him to big-time NCAA success and major struggles in the pros.

Cubs Thread 2023
That division will be a dogfight all season long. The Brewers have such a terrible offense right now.

Fire Rick Hahn
Nobody who went to Harvard Law School in the Class of 1996 liked the guy back then either.

Garfein: Tim Anderson hates pitch clock, not Chicago
Nobody said trade Moncada because he juggled lol. What was actually said was that play late yesterday was not a good reason to make Jake Burger a permanent DH or 1B. Point Two...holding onto Moncada next year when a team would be committing to a minimum of $29 million seems a bit dubious. You better be getting a superstar performance for $24 and $25 million per season for a franchise DEEPLY committed to never going over the $200 million payroll mark.

Uribe was one of the three best infielders in recent Sox history. So smooth in the unique way he always caught the ball like a vacuum cleaner, solid range and a plus plus arm. That unique physique of his lol...you could instantaneously identify him hitting fielding or running like Popeye. Mark Buehrle loved him as a teammate so much he was willing to take a salary cut to allocate that money to keep Uribe around another year. And he was one of the rare teammates universally adored across white, Latin and black teammate cliques.

They want him traded because he's the #21 starter (and climbing today) and all the potentially better FA's other than Ohtani are pitching much worse. That and they don't want to see Giolito walk for no return. So now arguably one of the five most valuable DDL trade targets... and they desperately need to get more pitching for the future/general young and cheap/cost-controlled.

Still need a STARTER at 2B.

5/20 Royals @ Whitesox 1:10 start. Giolito VS Lyles
KC and the Guardians without two Sox killers are one thing...winning out on the road and beating the Angels will prove a much tougher challenge. Would feel much more confident if the division lead was just five games by Minny (blown final game of that series)... but it's more the divisional weakness of a -9 to 11 games under .500 that provides hope, or maybe false hope. We will see. Sweeping a series here seems critical.

5/20 Royals @ Whitesox 1:10 start. Giolito VS Lyles
7 games back is going to mean they're not going to trade the likes of Giolito and Kelly. Can pretty much forget the WC...so upcoming at CLE, at DET, LAA and DET at home will determine the course of the season. Won't have the good fortune of missing Naylor and Ramirez next week. 23,984

Not sure why they didn't IL Grandal when he's going to end up missing at least 5/6 games and Zavala is basically useless this season. Saving money on flights?

Will the Sox do the right thing when Eloy comes back and move Yoan to 2B?
Eddie Gaedel has a nice OBP.

Garfein: Tim Anderson hates pitch clock, not Chicago
The argument there was always something like Jose Valentin vs. Royce Clayton. Jose got to everything and also had a Top 3-5 infield arm in the majors. Clayton rarely made errors but limited range when with the Sox.
