  1. QUOTE (WinningUgly85 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 10:41 PM) anyone friends with john danks or ehren wasserman? http://www.new.facebook.com/profile.php?si...iq=john%2Cdanks Wasserman's on facebook? I didn't know that. I've got about 25 sox minor leaguers on my friends list.
  2. Alexie threw the ball into the dugout = two bases
  3. My buddy in MN still claims that he used to hear frequently in the news about that AJ did not get along with the Twins when he was up there.
  4. Holy cow do you guys have emotional disorders or something. You change your mind way too easily on how you feel about a player.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 12:03 AM) LMAO! You guys have to peep the gamethread over at NSBB.com. The things they're saying about Fukodome are f***ing hilarious. Whoa, I had no idea the cubs fans had a website. I always just assumed that 99.5 percent of them have no idea who they even have in their farm system.
  6. Cubano, Who was the Cuban player(s) that you spoke of when you made your very first post on Soxtalk?
  7. Javy would be an ace in the national league though!
  8. do your best to give play by play, you're faster than gameday and i have no tv at work here
  9. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) I hate that too. I've never been to another pro game besides up in Minnesota. Is it just them or do most fans boo the opposing pitcher for trying to pick off the runner? I've been to plenty of Sox games at Comisky where there was booing when the opposing pitcher did the same thing. And BTW, never give a Cub fan an ounce of credit
  10. You really can't generalize fan of a team. You get some that are dicks. Some that are nice. Some that know nothing of the team. Some that know the whole organization inside and out. I used to generalize the difference between Cubs and Sox fans, but after '05 I don't see that much of a difference anymore. You just got between a whole bunch of bad ones, that's all. Sorry to hear that. But I have definitely seen similar actions taken by Sox fans at the cell.
  11. No, we need as little instant replay as possible. In '05 if replay existed Podsednik would have been called out on the pick off attempt to first and Pierzynski might have been ruled out on the "dropped third strike" if it never actually hit the ground. It does make the game unique and remember, when you're watching TV with home town announcers like Hawk, you will find many more things against you than against the other team, when in reality the blown calls go about 50/50 most of the time.
  12. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 11:14 PM) I tell yea, Carlos Gomez has a world of talent, but watching him this weekend, i get the distinct impression his abilities have gone to his head and in a few years he's going to be a real SOB to deal with. He just give me that vibe. He is going to be VERY full of himself in a very short period of time. I look at how he scream and yells at every opertunity. He's got a very "smug" look. And did you see him slide into home for no reason what so ever? If a White Sox rookie did this do you think you'd say the same? I viewed it as more excitement over the fact that he just led his team to sweeping their biggest contender for the Central division lead.
  13. QUOTE (That funky motion @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) I have never heard this! Let me ask my friend in MN who used to tell me this all the time. As I search the internet there doesn't seem to be much Twins hate for him, just Giants.
  14. He wasn't even "ripping" his teammates, he just was being honest. I agree, someone needed to voice that.
  15. You have the opportunity to listen to Bert Blylevenand you'd rather hear Hawk? It wasn't until I went to school in MN and was exposed to the Twins games that I realized how absolutely awful the Sox announcers are. Turns out, you don't need long extended pauses throughout the game when you're an announcer in another city.
  16. They boo him for the same reason he was traded (discluding the fact he was traded for tons of goodies). He was a clubhouse cancer for the Twinkies. Didn't get along with his team at all. That's why people started booing him to begin with, because he was known as a "bad guy" of baseball. Then after some of the '05 controversy everyone wanted to jump on the AJ hatred train. MN, is the only place that rightfully should boo him. But yeah, the guy who threw back Griffey's homer is an idiot. You could see by the look on his face he was hesitant though.
  17. Regardless of the Sox' outcome, we need to get together and form some sort of anti-Cubs rally
  18. What would you say is the order of our MLB roster from best to worst? This includes injured players. How much faith do you have in your guys? 1) Carlos Quentin 2) Gavin Floyd 3) Mark Buehrle 4) Jermaine Dye 5) Bobby Jenks 6) Jon Danks 7) Jim Thome 8) Alexie Ramirez 9) Javy Vazquez 10) Paul Konerko 11) Orlando Cabrera 12) Scott Linebrink 13) Joe Crede 14) Matt Thornton 15) Nick Swisher 16) AJ Pierzynski 17) Octavio Dotel 18) Juan Uribe 19) Jr. 20) Jose Contreras 21) Dewayne Wise 22) Brian Anderson 23) DJ Carrasco 24) Toby Hall 25) Clayton Richard 26) Lance Broadway 27) Boone Logan I'm too lazy to list any more. What would you guys at least ranks as the top 15 on our team?
  19. Ok, who in here knows Frank Thomas' birthday off the top of your head without cheating? I know I do!
  20. I remember his rookie year, I was just a boy. I went to a game early with my dad, it was an autograph day where the players were spread throughout the field by the bottoms of the lower decks signing hats and cards. The big name players had too big of lines of people so I was excited to get Jason Bere's signature. We had some extra time, so my dad wanted me to get this guy's autograph who I had never heard of, Magglio Ordonez. I can remember my dad saying that a lot of people were saying that he was going to be really good so I got it. I never knew how good Mags actually would be. Now though...he really really has disgusting hair. But still a great player.

    Waxing

No way, doing it together and to each other as a group makes it a tremendous, yet still a heterosexual bonding experience.

    Waxing

Have you tried it? Myself, my brother, and a friend of mine did a few weeks ago and although it was painful at some points, I didn't think it was as bad as advertised in movies like 40 year old virgin and so on where it is seen as unbearable. My Pre-Marital Waxing For those of you who have tried it: Was it more, less, or as painful as you thought? And what parts did you wax? I think for some this can be worse than others depending on how sensitive your skin is.
