  1. GET THIS RUN IN, AT ALL COSTS! GETTIN ON HIS HORSE, WTG SCOTTY
  2. I see Pods and Alexei laying down a combined 3 bunts at least, today
  3. one thing i've noticed about Greinke (i've watched almost all of his starts since I have the MLB TV Premium package), is that he gets so many hitters out on that hard slider down and in to lefties and down and away to righties, that pitch appears as a strike and is never one he never throws that pitch in the beginning of a count, he always throws a 4 seam 95-96mph fastball on the corner and sometimes over the plate for a strike, when hitters are down 0-2 or 1-2, he starts throwing that devastating slider this is a situation of course where, to be successful against Zack, you need to stop trusting your eyes on 2-strike counts and start analyzing the count your in and what pitch to expect instead, work the count to 2-2 or 3-2 and try to get him to feature something in the strike zone (his curveball or that mid-90's 4 seam fastball) against our lineup, i think a pitcher like Zack would rather walk a bunch of guys and try to get out of a 2-on or bases loaded jam, because his stuff is so good rather than throw hittable pitches on 2-2 or 3-2 with that said, it's easier said than done of course, i'm not speculating as to finding the key to beating Zack, but it pretty much is the solution. executing that will be the challenge of course
  4. Rongey still thinks Bedard pitches for the Orioles, talking about Andy McPhail would want too much for us to get him. lolz
  5. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ May 30, 2009 -> 08:35 PM) Tigers cruising now. Up 6-3, still two on, still one out. I'd rather face Detroit right now than Greinke tomorrow
  6. wtf that 1-2 pitch to teahan, 98mph with tailing movement gun can't be right
  7. Hawk noting Bobby unable to throw a breaking pitch for a strike, ala the Pirates series 1 down regardless!
  8. Gameday using the same gun as WGN? It has the same velocity
  9. WGN gun says 98-99mph Never the less, let's see if Bobby has a breaking pitch this time and isn't just a dart thrower
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2009 -> 08:11 PM) I hope Ozzie lets Wise face Juan Cruz here. Miss Cleo
  11. wow, imagine that a 3-2 WALK we'd have so many more of those if more of our hitters realized the league was doing that to us as often as they have been
  12. terrible at bat brian, some of our hitters are absolutely braindead after 2 strikes so many pitchers fail to throw balls into the strikezone to our team on 2 strikes, we would have so many f***ing walks this year if they would just smarten up and adjust to what the league is doing to us on 2 strikes
  13. hard sliders own our team, greinke is gonna destroy us tomorrow like no other
  14. We're back! f*** you Gil Meche, and f*** you Willie Bloomquist
  15. some really silly at-bats so far, sox hitters not helping themselves out except for AJ and Alexei
  16. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ May 29, 2009 -> 10:37 PM) Castro's vs. Lefties over the past 3 years - .275 .341 .808 Better than who we had vs. right handers too OPS=.778 Seems like a nice upgrade offensively and I feel much better if AJ should happen to need an extended time off for any reason. I don't know much at all about his defense and handling of pitchers. How is this guy behind the plate? career .990 FPCT behind the plate
  17. as has been said, contreras' contract makes his trade value = 0 it's a sad story, he was a huge part of 2005 and right now is at the tail end of his career, and pitching in the minor leagues has to kill his confidence
