2022 ALCS- Yankees/Astros
Anyone but Houston. I would be rooting for the Cubs if they were in the playoffs if it meant Houston doesn't win.

Will Abreu be a White Sox in 2023?
We already have one of ‘em, why not keep it going

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
lol, just for that one year not in the big picture.

Will Abreu be a White Sox in 2023?
Moncada strikes me as someone who would be dumped onto the Dodgers and turn into perennial monster.

White Sox Mgr Speculation Thread
Ive been coaching my sons little league teams for the last 6 years, I should be in the running. Were even the White Sox this season, so I have the tie in as well.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
Fair point, but his 2020, 2021, and 2022 are all equally as pedestrian. Either way, I wouldn't swap Tim for Marte in a one on one deal.
-
Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
I would be ok with trading Tim, as long as they aren't dumping him. Marte 1.8 WAR in 2021 Anderson 4.8 WAR in 2021 They weren't even close. Leury Garcia was better than Ketel Marte in 2021, let that one sink in.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
Ketel Marte has been pretty meh for three years now unfortunately. It would be ridiculous to swap Anderson for him, Anderson has more value than a change of scenery swap.

Its incredibly hard on the knees to be that large of a person and do the things you need to do as a professional athlete.

2022-23 NFL Season thread
I was in a 75 man survivor pool that is down to 5 people after 6 weeks. And this included everyone getting one forgiveness game during weeks 1-5.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
I would argue they aren't really preventable, maybe the non contact type, but a large majority of knee injuries in professional sports is because of contact that you just cant protect against. Obviously, this is overwhelmingly tilted towards football.

White Sox Mgr Speculation Thread
I don’t think we disagree, I would be fine with either of those guys. I was just saying a good manager can come from anywhere.

White Sox Mgr Speculation Thread
A lot of the teams in the playoffs right now have managers that I would definitely say do not fit the criteria of coming from super successful organizations. Aaron Boone was a commentator for ESPN, John Schneider was a coach in the Blue Jays minors, Kevin Cash was a bullpen coach in Cleveland, Scott Servais was a front office guy with the Rangers and Angels, Dave Roberts was a coach in the Padres organization. A good manager is important, but good managers aren't exclusive to successful organizations. There's only 30 of these jobs available you have to search wide and find the good ones, they're out there.

The Decade of Hahn - By the Numbers
Soxtalk: Is there no way we can get rid of him? JR: Not without cause Soxtalk. Soxtalk: I have cause, it is be-cause I hate him.

Fire Rick Hahn
Im just amazed that we didn't even get a whiff of a possible replacement at GM. It was pretty much like no matter what happened they were all coming back. TLR would have been back too had it not been for his heart issue. This organization is just pathetic.

White Sox Mgr Speculation Thread
If we were talking front office I agree. I don't think the manager search should be limited to those kind of teams though. While coming from a winning culture is nice, I don't think that's required of a manager. If we were replacing the front office, that's absolutely where I would be looking.

10/5- Twins at Sox, 3:10
Nice, always makes sense to keep the injured barely usable player on your roster as opposed to putting him on the IL and bringing up someone you can use normally.

10/4- Twins at Sox, 7:10
4.06 FIP as well. Not too bad for the perception he had this season.

Between Sosa and Gonzalez we have a cheap 2b option already on the roster. I prefer Sosa as I’m liking the 23 HRs he hit this year. I also really like Jose Rodriguez, hopefully he comes back strong.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
Abreu isn't personally causing this roster any issues, the collection of 1B/DH players are what is causing issues. Jose Abreu was literally the most valuable batter we had on this roster, considerably more valuable than Andrew Vaughn. The window is now, and its closing. If you are serious about trying to win RIGHT NOW its not logical at all to let Abreu walk. Sticking Vaughn at 1B full time isn't going to magically make him a 4-5 WAR player.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
There is no scenario where you jettison your best player and leader and that solves a problem on the roster.
-
Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
In my scenario, we did not shed any salary and therefor are not able to afford a really good OFer. The trade off is we acquired a really good pitcher and hope Pollock can be passable. Anyway you look at it, the White Sox will not be signing a stud anything unless they jettison Abreu plus to create that room and at that point you are only opening more holes that you cant afford to fill.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
If the Sox are still going for it, which I no doubt believe they will, then this is what I am doing assuming Rick Hahn knows that his chances are probably up if he fails again. Provided some of these guys bounce back and aren't actually cooked and we have a competent manager, this is easily the favorite for the division in 2023. Vaughn and Montgomery packaged in some way to get Burnes from Milwaukee. 1. Cease 2. Burnes 3. Lynn 4. Kopech 5. Giolito 6. Martin With just Sheets and Garcia on the bench, we would need catcher and another OF as well. C - Grandal 1B - Abreu 2B - Sosa 3B - Moncada SS - Anderson LF - Pollock CF - Robert RF - Colas DH - Jimenez

Rick Hahn presser, non-MGR info
I would if we had a GM whose job was on the line. It’s painfully obvious that Hahn was never in jeopardy of losing his job, so why would he make that kind of move.
