That Zoom call Hahn held announcing the TLR signing was something to see ( not sure if you watched). His body language, dodging of questions, his lack of excitement about just hiring a manager, were all on display. Hahn was NOT a happy camper and sure as hell didn't seem to appreciate being put in the position of defending the hire to the press and an angry fan base.

He's one of my top 3 favorite players on this team. He looked like shit the last month of the season and coming back from a torn pec doesn't cause one to swing and miss at sliders 3 feet out of the zone on a consistent basis. I have genuine concern.....not enough to sell low on him, as some seem to want to do, but I do have concerns that either the league has figured him out or he's just simply stopped trusting his eyes.

He'll be headed to a team who can afford to lose the money if his health deteriorates over the course of a multi-year deal. This is his chance to get his first, big, guaranteed deal. He won't be in Chicago next season.

There's a lot working against the Sox in this regard. Fact is, playing in the Central, it's rare for them to face premium, elite pitching. They just don't see it enough during the year and, when they do, they get embarrassed. The Sox feast on pitchers making mistakes and they see plenty of them as hitters in the AL Central. In the playoffs, especially, you just aren't going to see many mistakes. If you do, they often will catch the hitters completely off-guard due to being so far and few between. This team not only needs roster help, but experience. It's imperative they focus intently on beating good teams next season. Be it Tony or someone else, I would demand the team treat games against winning teams as playoff games. Start to understand the mentality it takes to win against top competition. Start to improve as hitters by honing in the concentration to such an extent that hitting even elite pitchers becomes an exercise of reaction instead of thought. Eloy is a fantastic example of this. Dude is just up there guessing what's coming and sitting on whatever that pitch is. He's not relying on pitch recognition, he's just guessing. He's not reacting to what his eyes see, he's simply acting on his forethought. No hitter who lives on guessing pitches is going to thrive against good-great pitching and no team full of those hitters will win playoff series.

This staff just loves to nibble, nibble, nibble instead of attacking hitters early or when they’re ahead in the count. You can attack in the zone without throwing cookies

The biggest difference in this iteration of Rodon and previous iterations is that he's become a thinker on the mound. You can literally watch him talk to himself or look off in space thinking about his next pitch. I don't know if this was something Katz taught him, someone else on the staff, or him just recognizing that pitching it as much about savvy as stuff, but it's made a tremendous difference. This is why he can still dominate even when his velocity is down. All that said, dude has waited a long time for this opportunity. He'll feel no pain until his arm falls off.

I'd like to think he's watched film and will be ready today. All these guys, on both teams, should have a pretty damn good idea how the opponents are attacking them by this point in the season and series.

Perhaps you should reserve judgement until you do rather than relying on "woke" articles on Twitter or Facebook. I'm a Biden voter, btw....not that that should matter, but the judgement is just DRIPPING off of your posts.

It's a damn shame how many people are missing out on some fucking hilarious content because of what they've read online about Barstool. Start with the "Pardon My Take" podcast (publishes M,W,F). Hilarious podcast, sports-centric, and one of the hosts, Big Cat, is a Chicago guy. Listen to that for a couple of weeks then come back and tell us how much misogynistic, racist, right-wing drivel you heard. It'll be a short post.

I can't stand this talking point. Is WSD an idiot? Absolutely. Do you understand how his idiocy plays into the whole Barstool personality "world"? No, you don't. The guy is a laughingstock at the company...considered a hardo. The fact this hardo Sox fan idiot got into it with John Cusack over who is a better fan is fucking comedy gold. It's not the interaction, it's the way the interaction plays into the whole Barstool "show" and feeds the WSD narrative.

No doubt I'm biased, but that crowd blew every other crowd in this year's playoffs away. Boston's fans are fantastic but they don't keep at it non-stop like our fans did last night. Wainwright seemed to be in awe of the atmosphere, which speaks volumes.

A July road game is much different than an October playoff game in front of a crowd like last night's. I want to face him in Chicago, without question.
