He was pulled from the game today just before it ended. I think they wanted to get him up to Columbus before tonight's game there. That game is on MiLB.tv tonight, by the way. In fact, the next five or six Charlotte games are on MiLB.tv.

Gordon Beckham was promoted to Charlotte, they took him out of the game just before it ended.

The Barons are back in town, but of course, there is a threat of rain all week. No rain for 10 days they are gone, rain possible all 5 days they are here.

...trade Jermaine Dye to Atlanta for Jeff Francoeur and a pitching prospect. I know it sounds mad, but really think about it. Atlanta's looking to get more offensive production out of their outfielders, and they are also considering trading Francoeur. Yes, he's struggled, but he is barely 25. Maybe he needs a change of scenery or more motivation or pressure to produce. There's not much of either in Atlanta. If it didn't work out, then there wouldn't be any contract constraints with Francoeur. If it did, it would be like getting another Carlos Quentin. Plus, it would put the decision about Dye's 2010 option on the Braves. Discuss...

Ummm....Beckham's playing 3B in the first game of the Barons/Smokies DH. He played 2B yesterday.

I agree, I think the White Sox will benefit in the long run from not dealing Poreda, Richard & whomever else was involved. The first chance I get, I'll tell Aaron that it's good to still see him in a Barons uniform.
