I know all of you guys are experiencing different levels of anger or grief, or what have you. But, Aaron Poreda will make you guys feel better about this in the near future.

The thing is, the Padres aren't up against the wall to make this deal now. The timing for San Diego doesn't make sense at all.

Shelby's struggled because he hasn't been put in a consistent part of the lineup all year. He's too aggressive for the 1 hole, he's an RBI guy. The Barons lineup would be more productive if it was... Retherford, Shelby, Beckham, Flowers, Allen, Viciedo, Gartrell, Danks, Cook.

Just when I thought the White Sox were actually taking the developmental route, this comes along. I think KW is just too impatient to let players develop in the minors. I like Jake Peavy, but I'd hate to see Poreda traded, or any of the current Barons. Just my two cents.

When the Pirates and the Braves give up on a position player, that's a big, big sign that you should pass on the guy.
