I'm sure many of you have seen the SC special segments on video gaming. One of the best video gamers in the world, Jonathan "Fatality" Wendel, compared being a professional video gamer to being a NASCAR driver. You become an expert at using a machine/tool and use your skills and that tool against others. That is to say having a faster computer would theoretically allow one gamer to beat another gamer of equal skill. The same goes for race car driving. If NASCAR is a sport, you have to call professional video gaming a sport too.

Wright did not win a game he started last year, his win came in relief. The three 5th starters to win last year were Stewart against Detroit I believe, Porzio vs. Cleveland and Cotts vs. Texas.
