QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 02:13 PM) Judging from his comments, Chauncey's almost undoubtedly going to the Heat. He wants no part of being claimed and he's letting it be known. I'd like to see a team claim him just to find out how serious he is about leaving 14 million on the table.

Manny is unretiring. The strange thing is that he will reportedly have to serve a 50 game suspension instead of 100. Is baseball crediting him for going away?

Weird s*** happens when the league owns a team.

Baseball gave 111 exceptions for "medications'
It's hard to concentrate for the whole game, what with the decreased scoring and all.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 09:35 PM) So the NBA died and lost all respectability tonight. Why? Because of a trade that didn't happen?

Sox Post Winter Meetings
Anyone see the fangraphs article that suggested that Gio is overhyped and not as good of a pitcher as Floyd or Danks (among others)? Basically said he's valuable because of his contract, but not all that he's cracked up to be because of his walk rate. Not that it wouldn't be nice to have both Gio and Hudson. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/i...worth-the-hype/

I'd like to point out that the Hornets' GM is named Dell Demps. Let it be noted.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) This is f***ing bulls***. Wasn't the owners locking out the players supposed to prevent this crap? Now we're going to have Lakers/Heat finals for the 3 years. I said when I was young I'd cut my lips off before I became a hockey fan. Hmmmmmmmmm... Nope. They made a lot of money off the Heat drama and the new rules encourage player movement.

Lastings Milledge
QUOTE (MAX @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 10:21 PM) Rios has a much better upside than milledge. Definitely. I'm just not sure if Rios was a better player than Milledge in 2011.

Lastings Milledge
White Sox have 5 outfielders right now. All seem to be better and have a better upside than Milledge. With the possible exception of Rios, and it's not possible to move him.

Brett Favre is willing to listen to the Bears
Favre and McNabb don't know the system. You wouldn't get 5 weeks out of them.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) Glad to see the O line sucks again after being average the last few weeks with Jay. They have been worse, but Cutler made them look better than they actually were.

The Bears are excellent at that play where Hanie rolls to his right and throws the ball out of bounds.

Trade Adamn Dunn and Alex Rios
It will never work. Dunn is a terrible center fielder and Rios is a terrible hitter, no matter his designation.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 2, 2011 -> 09:25 AM) i think teams are staying away until his whole identity theft issue is resolved What's left to resolve? The facts seem clear. Is there a legal shoe that's yet to drop?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 27, 2011 -> 05:51 AM) Unless they have changed the rules, yes. All NBA players who have been released when owed guaranteed money and sign with new teams for years have been basically given a raise. Its not like MLB where the team that releases them gets the minimum relief if they go sign for the minimum someplace else. Its also why more guys in the NBA are up for buyouts. They take less money, but will make up at least some of that with their next team. Here's some info on it: http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId=7289447

Good penalty that Barber (I think it was) took. He wasn't tackling the guy otherwise. Saved 4 points.

Looks like the pick-6 is going to be Hanie's calling card.
