  1. Sam Dykstra‏ @SamDykstraMiLB 20m20 minutes ago More So ... Eloy Jimenez was pinch-hit for in the seventh inning of today's @BhamBarons game. He wasn't hurt. It was a blowout at that point. Could have been keeping him fresh. Could have been he has somewhere else to be. Working to find out. #WhiteSox This guy is a minor league baseball reporter.
  2. He was pinch-hit for with the bases loaded. I wasn't watching, so I didn't hear if the announcers said anything, or if he had played defense the inning prior. Nothing on twitter other than those speculating he is being called up to AAA, although doing that mid-game would be weird.
  3. I just thought it was weird that you were excited that he was being demoted to a lesser defensive position, even if it's not a huge difference.
  4. Right, but him starting 100% of his OF games in RF would prove more confidence in his defense than them having to try him out in LF.
  5. If you have mlb.tv, or has a friend that does, it's $25. This is my second year doing it and it's well worth it. I only watch the SP that are good, and when certain hitters are up, but it's a really great escape from White Sox baseball. I'm basically paying $8 per team for 5 months. So less than $2 a month. Totally worth it.
  6. Am I the only one who has no interest in Joey Bart? I've never seen anything glowing about him, other than the fact that he can stick at catcher. Does he have any plus skills? Possibly plus power? It just blows my mind that he could go #2 just based on superficial reports I've heard.
  7. Sheets needs to start hitting some dingers if he wants to keep moving up the ranks.
  8. 2-run HR for Collins. He should be 3 for 3 with a HR, 2B, single, and 2 BB. But instead the CF made a great catch and robbed a double from him earlier.
  9. Danny Mendick hits a 3-run jack to LF and the Barons take the lead back, 7-6. His 5th HR of the year, 4th against the same team. Lulz.
  10. Collins takes his 2nd walk. Now tied for 1st in all of minor leagues with 30 BBs. Eloy unloads on a ball to CF, but it hangs up for the CF to catch it for an out. Eloy is 2/4 now.
  11. They were legit singles. Even the two DPs he got in his last 2 innings were hard smashes. Due to the awful video angles in BIR, I have no idea how he looked, all I can comment on is the contact made, and it was mostly hard.
  12. Wow, Zavala just TORCHED a HR to LF. The announcer exploded on contact and the ball landed out of view of the camera. Good god. 2-run jack. 7th on the year.
  13. Collins takes a walk, and he now officially has more BB than K's on the season. 29 BB to 28 K.
  14. I missed the beginning of the play, but with runners on 1st and 3rd with 1 out, Barnum fielded a hot shot to 1B. He stepped on 1st, but instead of coming home with it, he threw it to 2B, which allowed the runner to get in to a pickle, buying enough time for the runner from 3B to score before he was tagged out. Not sure if there was a play at home or not, but it's possible Barnum cost Dunning a run by not coming home with the throw.
  15. Basabe just had a really great heads-up play, even if it resulted in nothing. Ball 4 was a pitch way outside that the catcher couldn't get, and he took off hauling ass, attempting to get to 2B on a walk. He ended up not testing it, but it was a great idea that actually confused me initially.
  16. He's one more walk away from more walks this season than strikeouts. Both sit at 28 right now.
  17. WS - Alex Call hits a double to LF that 1-hops the wall. BIR - Collins just crushed a ball to CF that the OF leaped up and made a great catch on. He destroyed that 3-1 pitch. Polo then steals 3B, Eloy then smashes a double to LF to score him. Eloy now 2 for 2.
  18. Tito Polo just took a pitch to the head, but shook it off, took first, and then stole 2B.
  19. I'll preface this by saying I realize FB comments on NBCSN FB page and similar news outlets are absolutely horrible and ill-informed, but I found these two talking points particularly bad..... One guy said the Sox should go ahead and call up Eloy so he can "set the single-season strikeout record", which obviously makes no sense considering Eloy doesn't strikeout very much at all, especially for a power guy. Another guy argued that Eloy must be a loser if he's spent 5 years in the minors and can only make it to AA. He's way too old and clearly sucks if it takes him this long to make the majors. Not only will Eloy likely be younger than any Cubs player when they made their debut (except for Russell), but he is also 3 years younger than the average AA hitter.
  20. I got the W-S game on my computer, and the Birmingham video on my phone. Loving it.
  21. And best friend of Mitch Trubisky.
  22. He looks to have had a weird path where he took a couple of years off of playing. So he's a 23-year-old Junior this season. I don't see him mocked in any 1st RD drafts yet.
