When it comes to results, Spring means nothing. But when he made a change to his mechanics that allowed him to have command, and he added a few ticks of velocity, those are things that should carry over from spring, not the numbers.

IIRC, Eno or Jeff Sullivan or one of the saberheads had a list of biggest velocity spikes from 2017 to spring of 2018, and he cited Giolito as being #1 I believe, and seemed to buy in to the idea that he had turned it around.

I don't think Moncada is a great 2B, I just think he's super athletic, and thus he makes the super athletic plays. He fucks up his fair share at 2B when it comes to everything outside of having great range and athleticism. I support a move back to 3B, where I believe he had really good reviews from Red Sox people.

Kopech got pissed off and just started firing lasers. All fastballs, 98 MPH according to the broadcasters. Got him to groundout with a change-up. 4 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K.

Kopech hits a batter, he steals with no throw on Kopech, then Kopech gives up a double off the wall. 1-1 tie.

Wow, Jose Rondon just made a tremendous diving stop up the middle, picked the ball up as he got to his feet and threw out Senzel. Saved a hit off Kopech's line.

Kopech looking very sharp so far. He just walked his first hitter in the 3rd, but he got really squeezed on a pitch that looked very much in the zone to make it 3-1, and then the next pitch he pulled outside. I think he was frustrated with the Ball 3 call. Got the next hitter to pop up to end the inning. 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K

Looks like the Cowboys should have a really good shot at Ridley or Moore. Pretty excited for either, but I could totally see them going defense since that is always the issue with their teams.

Wasn't he throwing 94-96 this spring? Is he consciously trying to throw slower, or did he get dead arm this quickly from the spring?

Yeah, that was about as easy a call to make for a player not getting out of the way.

Yeah, that was just bad. Instead of having your fastest runner on 2B with 1 out, you end up with a slower runner on 1B with 1 out. And then the inning ends on a DP that would have never been possible. Fucking brilliant, Tim.
