Welp, apparently it is possible to fix the braking issue OTA, because they just did, and Consumer Reports now recommends the car. https://www.consumerreports.org/car-safety/tesla-model-3-gets-cr-recommendation-after-braking-update/ They shaved off 19 feet, or about 13% stopping distance.

In defense of Hostetler, Garfein specifically asked about his character, and then he came back with "Tell me more about his intangibles". Nick was never asked anything about Singer's stuff or results.

I wouldn't because of the money pool, but I would 10000% prefer to MOVE DOWN to 10-15 if the league allowed the trading of draft picks (which I wish they would).
-
I saw that, but one of the greatest advantages of Tesla, and Elon addressed it on the same day, is that Teslas are constantly being updated OTA like our phones. There have been dozens of improvements and new features added since the first Model 3 hit the road. And to this braking issue specifically, Elon said they have already identified a way to update it over-the-air to improve the braking. He said they won't stop working on it until it's the best braking car of it's class, even if that means having to physically change components of existing cars, at no-cost to the owners. Whether he delivers on that can be judged, but I have no doubts that he is going to take care of the issue in one way or another. One of the reasons why mine not being manufactured for another 4-5 months is a good thing.

When I went down to Indy to see some Knights games, the dude was making great plays on defense, I believe at 2B. His swing does look a bit long, and homer-happy, but he could profile as a decent utility type guy I suppose.

I didn't remember John Danks ever throwing a perfect game, but then I found video of it. Good recall!

What I found interesting about Collin's numbers so far is the lack of XBH. He has 7 dingers, which is good, but only like 3 doubles. Kind of strange that he is either crushing it out, or lacing singles.
-
Thinking of Alec Bohm. Isn't is profile similar to that of Kris Bryant when he came out in the draft? Tall 3B with fringe defense who have huge power, but also really good plate discipline?
-
That makes sense to me. It's easier/quicker to wag your finger rapidly than it is to wave your arm rapidly. It would make sense that the short your levers, the quicker (and possibly with more control) you can swing your bat through the zone. I wonder if it would be similar to a player choking up on the bat, in theory.

Irrelevant observation, I had no idea Lillian was a female.

Here is someone that quite a few people (not myself) wanted from Houston... Ramon Laureano He was awful in 2017, and hasn't even played in 2018 yet. Was traded to OAK and not even in the Athletics top 23 right now.
-
Josh Bell and Kevin Newman were two that I really wanted. Bell has been alright, and after an okay 2017, Newman has been better so far in 2018. From the Yankees, I really wanted Kaprielian, who got traded to the A's and has been hurt for since forever. And Estevan Florial who had a great 2017, and a mediocre 2018. It would be fun to go through the old names over the past 2 years we wanted in Sale/Q trades.
-
I had Soto in every mock trade with the Nats, but I admit it was a combo of his age, reports I read, and mostly his gaudy numbers he was posting. Had never seen him swing a bat when I and many others were wishing on him.

And the Biscuits do a very large shift against Eloy. 3 fielders on the left side of 2B, and the 1B is playing nearly halfway to second. Hit first 2 hits were linedrives over where the 2B would normally play. May have been snared by an athletic 2B if they weren't shifting him.
-
Just watched the replay of the Barons game and the best part of Collin's 2 HRs were that they were BOTH on first pitch. Nice to see if he gets a pitch he likes early, he will swing, instead of just looking to draw a walk and only swinging if he has to. Both were no-doubters.

Madrigal this weekend in 3 games vs. USC 3 for 12, BB, 4 RBI, 1 BB, 0 K, 4 SB He has 3 games left vs UCLA next weekend before the CWS starts.

Yup. 1 strikeout today, and he had at least one deep flyout to the wall. They've got his number for suuuuure. *green*

Eloy/Kopech could join Sox in mid July
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't get why they would be on similar timelines. Kopech is going to eventually max out AAA hitters this summer and be ready to start the major league learning process. Eloy hasn't even made that jump to AAA yet, so why would they slingshot him right to the bigs in a lost season? He needs to get called up to AAA very, very soon if it makes any sense for him to be up in Chicago this summer, because if you wait until September, you may as well wait until next May. -
5/18 GT - Kopech, Dunning, & Cease

O/U on strikeouts for the big 3 today? How about 26. -
Since no one really talked about any of the games that were played... Eloy - 0/4, RBI, 2 K Collins - 2/4, RBI Zavala - 3/4, 2B, BB Luis Gonzalez - 2/5 Parke got his tits blown off. RP Elliot went 3 hitless innings, 1 BB, 6 K. Now has 30 K to 6 BB and 18 H in 23 IP. 1.54 ERA. It seems he might be ready for W-S. He threw 63 IP in Kanny last year, and had a 59 K:10 BB ratio with a 2.29 ERA and WHIP under 1. He's now at 86 IP in Kanny with 89 Ks, 16 BB, and 66 H. At 23, I think he's ready to move up. Is Kyle Kubat on an injury assignment to W-S? Bump him back up to AA.

If we are all going on record with our top 4 choices.... 1) Mize 2) Madrigal 3) Bohm 4) Singer

Bleacher Nation guy who is a Cubs fan implied in a tweet tonight that Cubs fans are racist, because they complain about Edwards and other dark skinned relievers when they suck, but not the white relievers when they suck. All of that is filling in the blanks for his very tepid implications.

Oh yeah, like 90% of the mocks I saw had the Sox getting Kendall. I really wanted Haseley or Beck, then Peterson. Haseley and Beck went before the Sox pick. Peterson dropped down to the Mets at #20. Peterson has done pretty well in A-ball so far, but nothing special. Beck has held his own so far, Haseley has been underwhelming.
