Carlos Sanchez is now Yolmer Sanchez

Should have changed it to Magglio. -
Just went to the gym for the first time in almost 7 years. Man....I have no idea what 90% of those machines do. lmao I went with a couple girls from work though, and they showed me how to do stuff, so I'm sure that looked really cool from a distance.

QUOTE (MEANS @ Feb 14, 2017 -> 12:04 PM) Yes, he won, so your counter doesn't make sense. His point is that he doesn't sell his music, he gives it away for free and is not on any label. Bingo.

My car troubles turned in to a nightmare, but only in time, not money (thankfully). CV axel appeared to be fine, but one side of my brakes was screwed up. So I replaced the brakes and one rotor. Then my brother discovered a detached sway bar, so we replaced that as well. 4 trips to car part stores and 6 hours later, we did it. All in all costs were.... $50 for rotor $20 for sway bar $6 for PB Blaster $13 for brother's lunch + 6 pack $0 for brake pads (lifetime warranty) So under $90 for everything.

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 13, 2017 -> 10:31 AM) If you want to know who will win album of the year or record of the year just look at the sales. This isn't new. Grammys cares about selling records, the Oscars has a similar incentive sometimes, but largely swerves for more prestige (see Hurt Locker over Avatar). I get people find the show of it more interesting, but I swear I've run into better performances randomly on AMA than Grammys which , as has been said, is full of awful medley and duo ideas. Let me know how many records Chance has sold.

Bought an AC Axel/joint online from Advanced Autozone for $66 after a 20% off special. I'm really hoping this one is for non-ABS cars, as their description on the site doesn't mention anything. I'll call before I go pick it up tomorrow, and cross my fingers that my brother can put it in.

Awesome to see my boy Chance finally get some of that money recognition. I do wish he would switch back to a Sox hat, especially since he apparently owns over 30 different varieties.

Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate

QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 12, 2017 -> 10:05 PM) ?? While Nightengale is certainly a "big boy" I think he probably should have said someone who isn't connected to the Sox. -
Did an Escape Room tonight. It was pretty dope, despite me only know 1 of the 7 other people....and a couple of them being too annoyingly drunk to avoid.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Feb 10, 2017 -> 11:51 PM) Yea, well sign me up for the over. 30 combined WAR isn't ceiling though, it's just typical likelihood, and I think that's damn good. -

QUOTE (hi8is @ Feb 10, 2017 -> 11:41 PM) I just think 30 collectively for their total careers is pretty modest. Not when you consider that 2 or 3 of those 5 are likely to never amount to anything. If one of them turns out to be average, and one of them turns out to be great, you could be looking at 30 WAR combined. -

QUOTE (hi8is @ Feb 10, 2017 -> 11:12 PM) Total career or annual average? Is that for real? An average of 6 WAR across them, annually? -
So...with 13-14 month timeclock ticking on my Mitsubishi Galant before I take delivery on my Tesla, my quick google search (not car savvy at all) tells me I might have a failing constant velocity joint. I've yet to take it to a mechanic, but looks like it might be a $400 fix. Anyone who knows about cars have an opinion on me buying a CV joint off Autozone (around $100) and having my brother install it?

QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Feb 10, 2017 -> 08:38 PM) Funzies. Picked up one of these last week. Oooooh, I really like that front end, but not so much anything past the front wheels.

Is that the lowest (worst) we've seen on Kopech and Giolito? -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 09:44 PM) I mean, maybe a little surprising, but he's a guy with one tool. He can hit the snot off of a baseball when he makes contact, and that's it. If the power tails from where it is - among the best in the league - he's virtually a replacement level player, like he was in 2015 (0.4 WAR). This year he was 0.9. He has value, but he is a highly flawed player with no versatility beyond 1B and no value beyond hitting the ball a mile. Well, 0.9 WAR would be worth about $6.5M annually. I figured Carter would have gotten at least 1 yr/$5-6M somewhere.
-
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 04:06 PM) Its actually not that surprising. Carter just signed a 1 year $3 mill deal. This guy is making that every year next 3 years and was awful last season. And Chris Carter signing for so little is surprising as well.

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 03:59 PM) I shouldn't have said sign, I meant claim/acquire. Somehow he went unclaimed. Fangraphs wrote a recent article on him, and he squares up the balls in which he contacts the 2nd highest rate in baseball. And he was like 8th best in exit velocity. He hammers the ball when he actually makes contact. With a better contact rate, he's an easy 30 HR candidate.

QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 01:23 PM) How about the timing on this one from Sears? Its like he was intentionally trying to show chili he was making s*** up. If there was any question before he cleared that up pretty damn quickly. Anything or anyone associated with sportsmockery isnt credible at all. I didn't even post the rumor because I don't even follow the guy on twitter. I only see things from him when WhiteSoxDave or Owen or someone retweets it. I never said he was credible, I just said he has gotten a couple things right recently so he is worth monitoring.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 01:12 PM) Maybe the tweet meant to say "Sox trying work out a deal with the Twins for Park." Like a Park for cash considerations or PTBNL" type of deal. Teams do that when a player is in DFA status and can reject an assignment to the minors knowing that another team can claim or sign him (after he's released). He said he copied the text he received straight to twitter. After the Park to AAA news just broke, I asked him to grill his source about why the incorrect info. Like I said, his source doesn't even work for the team or even work in baseball, so I'm not sure what credibility HIS source has either.
