  1. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 10:09 PM) It's from the good old days, Mark Buehrle Is Not An Ace. And more recently JDINAA, then JQINAA. Probably CRINAA soon enough.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 14, 2017 -> 12:14 PM) The worst part might be with Sale in a Red Sox jersey, I can't even root for the guy. I'm rooting for the bullpen to blow all of his amazing starts. Love the player, hate the team.
  3. Or this one, which is just vicious and bad ass.
  4. Walk-off Intentional Walk wild pitch. Guy sounds a ton like Jason Benetti.
  5. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 08:57 AM) He didn't really like either candidate so he just hates on both. Oh I'm aware, and this next comment is less about politics and more about the way Bill Burr comments on them on his podcast... I get that he doesn't like picking a side, but he goes OVER the top to make sure that after he bashes Trump, he says something about Hilary to make it seem "fair". Now during the election, fine. But when he's commenting on crazy s*** that Trump does NOW, I don't get why he STILL feels the need to say "But then again, Hilary was crazy too". Like...the race is over. You can stop trying to rationalize terrible things Trump does by saying the other choice wouldn't have been much better. The other choice is gone. Trump isn't being compared against her anymore. He's being compared against past presidents. Anyway, just annoys me that he still feels the need to make it seem like he's down the middle, when just saying you don't like the president's actions doesn't mean your are suddenly a Democrat.
  6. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 04:03 PM) The new mid-day guy on the SCORE has some serious vocal fry. I thought he was terrible. Danny Parkins? I don't know what you mean by vocal fry.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 01:14 PM) Baseball America Verified account ‏@BaseballAmerica Beer Here: Would the @ClemsonBaseball star go No. 1 in the 2017 draft if eligible? @jjcoop36 tackles the ❓in Ask BA. http://bba.am/Mms5La This works out better for us getting him if he ends up going somewhere between #5-10, because I really really doubt we can even secure a top 3 pick honestly, let alone #1. However, I didn't realize Beer was put at 1B now. I thought I had heard he was a decent corner OF due to his big arm. Maybe something like a Melky or Nelson Cruz out there.
  8. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:18 PM) If Rogers is correct I'm glad to hear the Sox are looking at Severino and not Norris. Severino has the defense and has shown some potential to hit for a decent average so there is hope for his bat seeing as how he's just 23. Really hope the Sox and Nats can come to some kind of agreement even if Severino is not part of the return for Robertson. Want to get Jones into the closers role in hopes of boosting his value for a potential trade in July. I definitely agree with this. If Jones can prove he can continue to be awesome, but as a closer, he could/should net a monster return. But he has to do it before teams will commit prospects for him.
  9. While it's not a big deal that it's gone, it's also not a big deal that it was there. It's going to shave about 45 seconds off a few games a week. I don't see why this was done.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 10:08 PM) Bates Motel is back and looks very intense for it's final season. I stopped after about 2 episodes of last season. Is it worth catching back up?
  11. QUOTE (Real @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 10:20 PM) just ooc, has robertson ever worked as a starter? in the minors or majors He started 3 of his 32 games his Freshman year at Alabama.
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 05:46 PM) Moncada doing an interview in English. Good for him. Didn't Abreu say it was his goal to be able to sign the National Anthem in English or something? I know he was determined to learn.
  13. QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 19, 2017 -> 08:46 PM) Really liking what I see from Hartman. He's a guy that can be around for a while. Has easily replaced Shaw.
  14. QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Feb 19, 2017 -> 02:16 AM) YMMV. You Make Me Vomit?
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 18, 2017 -> 08:46 PM) They didn't play awful but couldn't score. I thought they played damn well. Could have certainly won 5-1 it felt like.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Feb 18, 2017 -> 09:15 AM) When Gio Gonzalez is literally the best play you've traded away, I think you're doing OK. Obviousl KW never focused on acquiring young players and keeping his farm intact, but honestly no one he traded away ever amounted to much. The Chris Youngs, Dan Hudsons, Aaron Poredas, Chris Carters, Jeremy Reeds, Brandon McCarthys, Clayton Richards, etc., never became quality big leaguers that would have been core players for the Sox. I didn't necessarily always love KWs style, but what he traded away never amounted to much. What's wrong with Gio Gonzalez. That dude is a quality #3 starter. He's been a 3+ WAR pitcher for 7 straight years. Never had less than 27 starts in a year, and even threw in a really good 5 WAR season in 2012. The dude has carved out a really nice career. He could reach 40 career WAR, which would put his career right around Dan Haren, Derek Lowe, Chris Carpenter.
  17. I loved when we first got him. I was so excited, and I loved his personality. Then...it started to wear on me when he sucked. And then when I heard how much he annoyed his teammates. And then I started to realize how much of a douche he was. It also doesn't help that we gave up good parts to GET him, and got NOTHING when we traded him away. Both trades were awful.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 18, 2017 -> 07:58 PM) That's fantastic congrats. Seeing improvement is worth the pain. I used to run at 4.5 mph and now I'm easily doing 8. Are you guys talking running in the open world? I assume that must be harder than on an elliptical, because after 7 years and being quite out of shape, I did a little over 2 miles in 17 minutes. Probably could have reached the 3rd mile by minute 26 or so. I doubt I'm somehow a skilled runner, just going to assume elliptical is easier.
  19. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 18, 2017 -> 04:32 PM) He is worth being the worst team in the Majors this year. He reminds me so much of Harper at the plate. I still think Josh Hamilton every time.
  20. Ball State upset the #22 team in the country, 8-3 I believe.
  21. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 04:08 PM) Love him. Not afraid to politics and tell ya how it is. Sounds like he's qualified to be President.
  22. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Feb 15, 2017 -> 11:29 PM) Cubs are planning on using Schwarber in LF (LOL) and as an emergency catcher behind Contreras and Montero. I don't think the Cubs need to make any trades but after seeing Schwarber boot some balls in ST they might conclude that the best thing for Schwarber's career is to trade him to an AL club. I'd like to see the Sox make a pitch for him if things turn in that direction. I told my Cub fan friends that I think his value will never be higher than it was this off-season. I really think having him play the OF with either further expose how inept he is on defense, hurting his value, or he will end hurting himself out there. I just feel like they should have traded him before he gets solidified as a DH-only guy.
  23. I'll be honest, this is one of my favorite threads all year. I love when the pics and videos (mostly meaningless) start rolling in. Makes me so happy.
  24. How about a Survivor themed banner, one with Q, Robertson, Frazier, Jones, Melky, and a torch in front of all of them. As they get traded over the next 12 months, we update the banner with an extinguished flame and silhouette.
  25. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 15, 2017 -> 10:25 AM) Started listening to Bill Burr everyday at work...soooo funny. You've made a wise choice.
