  1. This dude has major contact issues, but his raw power is kind of insane. Check out the moonshots on his first 7 HR. All of them are waaaay out.
  2. Also, he revealed to me who his source works for, and all I will say is that his source is not affiliated with the Sox, so his source really isn't even an inside guy anyway.
  3. So I looked up his tweet, and just out of fairness, this is what his actual tweet was... Sean Sears ‏@sean_sears6 39m39 minutes ago I'm hearing from a source that the #WhiteSox are working on a deal with recently DFA'd Byung Ho Park He didn't say "close".
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 12:39 PM) What is really funny about this is if you search White Sox and Park on twitter, this is the tweet that comes immediately before Sears. Charles the Cat™ ‏@CharlsMeow 35m35 minutes ago Source: @whitesox working out a deal for recently DFA'd Byung Ho Park. #meow #mlbinsder
  5. BP updated their projections, now have the Sox at 76-86, Sox end up with #9 draft pick.
  6. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 12:21 PM) Thanks for your permission, Chili.
  7. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 07:40 AM) He doesn't have actual sources though. He makes things up and happens to be right sometimes. It's not the same thing. Is he brother? Your buddy? What's the deal? Do you get a cut somehow? He says he does, you say he doesn't. All I know is that I will continue to cautiously monitor things he says relating to the Sox, you can continue to be upset any time his name is mentioned.
  8. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 12:10 PM) Not upset. Just don't like when hacks get credit. So no matter how many more times he correctly scoops a story with good info, you will continue to consider him a hack? Just weird how strongly you discredit him for being hit-or-miss so far.
  9. I honestly don't mind this, outside of how it's going to affect statistics. Baseball is SUCH a statistic driven game, that relievers are going to have really inflated ERAs when all they allow is a single in one AB and they get stuck with a loss, and an earned run. Actually, as long as they make it an unearned run, I'm ok with this.
  10. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 11:33 AM) He makes s*** up. He had a trade with Rays going down, he had the Cubs close to a deal with Boone Logan among other things. He had 2 really good guesses. I'm sorry it upsets you so much.
  11. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 05:33 AM) Based on his tweets, its looks like he has a source with the cubs. Yeah, he's admitted that his source from the Sox hasn't been very good so far. That's why I said he's at least worth monitoring, but hasn't been right on his Sox scoops yet.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 7, 2017 -> 08:36 AM) Mully and Hanley mentioned this morning that tonite on NBC Peggy Kuczynski(sp?) is doing an interview with Mike Adamle, where he is going to reveal his serious health issue that has kept him off of tv for the last year. Didnt sound good CTE, Dementia, along with depression and other things. But the main issue seems to be dementia. Showed that he has to walk around with a fanny pack that contains his ID, wallet, keys, and phone in case he gets lost and forgets what he's doing.`It was a pretty sad interview.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 7, 2017 -> 08:39 AM) What stories has Sean Sears ever scooped? Hammel and Wade Davis.
  14. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Feb 7, 2017 -> 07:30 AM) No that's guy a clown with no real Sources. " this guy HAS actually scooped 2 stories this offseason"
  15. I don't know if this has been posted or not but this guy HAS actually scooped 2 stories this offseason, so he might know something... Sean Sears ‏@sean_sears6 9h9 hours ago More #Nationals are playing it close to the chest with closer trade talks, a source of mine was told they were "exploring all options" Obviously that doesn't change anything, but he might be someone to watch on twitter if his source has info about Nats.
  16. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Feb 6, 2017 -> 05:36 PM) Nice! How much per each square? Well, doing the math, it would have been $100 a square.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 6, 2017 -> 03:55 PM) I think we all assumed that super bowl square pools pay out 1st through 4th quarter and if a game goes to overtime, no one gets a payout based upon overtime (since the squares and related payouts aren't typically set out that way). I've never heard of squares or any pool type working that way. They always say 1st, Half, 3rd, Final to avoid situations like that.
  18. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Feb 6, 2017 -> 03:04 PM) super bowl squares? you had squares for OT or did it carry over from the 4th? I think he means that, like the reason for my win, sudden death meant no extra point is kicked. So a TD winner in OT only meant 6 points versus a TD winner in regulation likely means 7.
  19. While I was mad at the outcome like everyone else, it did allow me to win $50. So that's cool I guess.
  20. Patriots scored 4 TD, and Gostkowski never made a single extra point. That's kind of crazy.
  21. So which Quintana thread are we all supposed to complain and waste each other's time in?
  22. She's going to need a reoccuring role for this masterpiece.
  23. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 4, 2017 -> 12:39 AM) I'm going to the Notre Dame hockey game tomorrow. Hawks prospect D Dennis Gilbert (3rd RD pick in 2015) plays for the Irish, so I'll try to keep an eye out for him. Notre Dame beat #12 Vermont, 4-1. Gilbert seemed like a defense-first player, and I say that because he was kind of s***ty with passes in the defensive zone and made some turnovers. He was really good on D in terms of sweeping the puck away and had the biggest hit of the game as well. He ended up with 2 assists on the night, but once he would take a puck away, block a shot, or otherwise gain possession behind the net, he would just wildly get rid of the puck, often right to a Vermont skater. Twice in this game he centered a puck from behind his own goalie that almost resulted in Vermont goals. Notre Dame's goalie, Cal Patterson, is damn good though. He is a Hobey Baker finalist, along with one of ND's wingers. But the offensive guy who stuck out the most was freshman winger Cal Burke, undrafted.
  24. QUOTE (striker @ Feb 4, 2017 -> 09:48 AM) Cooper and Manuel from Baseball America were big on Keller in the Pirates podcast. BA ranked Keller higher than Glasnow. They love Keller's control and repertoire. Glasnow will be a stud but only if he gains control. Glasnow/Keller seems to be similar to Moncada/Benintendi where one is more highly thought of because of floor, the other because of ceiling.
