  1. I couldn't take it any longer in my MLB The Show franchise, so I just dealt Q for Meadows, Bell, and Newman. Book that s***.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 31, 2016 -> 12:23 PM) That nationals fan really ruined this. Who? Are you referring to the Mets fan?
  3. But while we are on the topic of stats that boggle the mind, I wasn't sure where to drop this info, but I found out via another dumb DH vs. No DH argument with someone that the Sox had the best hitting pitchers in baseball last year, but a pretty large margin. A terribly small sample size, but they had something like a 78 wRC+ or something. Most teams had a NEGATIVE wRC+. lol. That Albers double and the Raunado HR really did some work for our overall numbers. Hah.
  4. Well, having a GOOD pitcher framer (Flowers) who couldn't hit at all didn't make us good. So I guess they decided to go 180 and ignore pitch framing in favor of better hitting catchers to try that theory, and it didn't work either.
  5. Wish the people doing our system would wait a month or more. Have to imagine at least 2 of Q, Melky, Robertson, Jennings, Frazier get traded.
  6. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 05:47 PM) MafiaIII is pretty damn good. Lives up really well to the Mafia name. Loving it so far. Also, playstation is having their end of year sale. MLB The Show for 11 bucks. Awesome story and setting, just needed work on AI and some mechanics on gameplay. I'm in a baseball fever right now with my MLB The Show franchise, but once that and Planet Coaster bore me, I'll go back and finish Mafia 3.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 11:37 AM) quoted for Chili at steves request Interesting. I'll have to see how long it is in terms of hours. If it's great but only 6-7 hours, I can't imagine spending $60 on it. But if it's 20-30 hours, I may. And I assume it's linear as well, no open world.
  8. Does Battlefield 1 have any sort of single player value? I don't really like online games too much, so offline mode is all I would be spending my money on.
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 09:39 PM) Awesome Cam. Simply awesome. It's a shame people don't talk about this side of him. Chelsea, is that you? Chelsea Curto‏ @ChelseaCurto @BleacherReport such a classy dude. It's a shame people don't mention this side of him more often. Mad props, Cam!!
  10. About to finish my 2016 season of MLB The Show (Sox vs. Cubs World Series, I currently have a 2-1 game lead, both my wins coming in extra innings), and I can't decide who I will trade Quintana too. I will be executing the Sale and Eaton trades, but need to figure out where to send Q and if I should keep Charlie Blackmon or move him to make the team closer to real life. I've also added Pedro Alvarez and Alex Meyer (AAA).
  11. QUOTE (Saufley @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 03:50 PM) If so, does Meadows HAVE to be the centerpiece? I would say yes. And toss in Jennings if you have to persuade them to move Meadows. Q and Jennings for Meadows, Bell, Newman, 2 lower level guys.
  12. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 03:32 PM) $20-25 is way too much for engraving; it will cost you like $7 if you go to the right places (I go to a place in Westchester). I broke even in my two leagues this year. Can't wait for fantasy baseball to start up!! I feel like last year they charged like $22 (Winners trophy and losers trophy). They aren't just engraving on an empty space, they are adding a new little marble section and plaque each time.
  13. QUOTE (TRU @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 10:27 AM) Pretty much, I had my worst week of the season points wise.. couldn't have come at a worst time.. I lost out on $500 but still get $160 for 2nd place Yep, same with me, worst week of the season in my championship game. I'll still go home with $75 - trophy engraving costs. So probably $50-$55.
  14. Writer Bill Madden was on MLB Now today and said that he has talked to people from both the Yankees and the White Sox and they said there have been no talks about a Quintana trade. He also said the White Sox guy told him the Sox have no inclination to move him either, unless they were to get a package GREATER than the Sale return.
  15. I got torched. Projected for my worst week of the season. Would need about 4 TDs out of Elliot and 4 FG out of Bailey tonight to win.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 11:38 AM) It was interesting to see them very interested in Severino as well. It makes me wonder if we could see him revisited as a part of a Robertson deal eventuallly. I always figured they would target Severino because he is familiar with both Giolito and Lopez.
  17. Wow, I'll be honest I had no idea who Josh Bell was until I looked up his numbers. I mean, I'd heard of him and I knew he was an offensive first player, but I assumed he was a Bellinger-type slugger. Surprised to see he only has modest power, but incredible contact skills and walks a bunch. Suck that he was so atrocious defensively in his short MLB stint, but he walked more than he struck out which is incredible for a rookie. Would have loved to have him AND Meadows headlining this deal. But I would be happy with Glasnow, Bell, Hayes, and Diaz.
  18. I really don't remember, but did they ever show R2-D2 at the end of the movie on the same ship as Leia? Maybe he was standing right next to her, I don't remember. Because obviously he has to be on the ship.
  19. Saw a link to some plot holes in the new movie. Some of them are dumb and not really worth criticizing, but a couple were good.. "In the beginning of Episode 4, R2D2 just met C3PO. So why are they palling around on Yavin acting all buddy-buddy days before they officially meet. Sloppy screenwriting." And "Princess Leia makes a cameo at the end of Rogue One which makes absolutely NO sense and threw me in to a nerd rage so great I had to be escorted out of the theater. For some stupid reason her ship, the Tantive IV, is docked on a Rebel battleship that is assaulting the an imperial base. Why would you bring Princess Leia, an extremely valuable target for the empire, along to an extremely dangerous battle, just so she can sit around in her quarters and do nothing. And then at the end of the movie Darth Vader almost makes his way into her ship when chasing fleeing rebels with the Death Star plans. Vader sees her ship take off from the Rebel battleship. So that makes her lines at the beginning of Episode 4 make NO sense. Why would she even bother to tell Vader she was just on a diplomatic mission when he clearly saw her and her ship fleeing from a massive battle between the Empire and the Rebellion. One where the Rebellion attacked the Empire unprovoked and killed hundreds if not thousands."
  20. Any deal w'/ the Yankees prospects BETTER include Gleyber Torres. That kid is going to be a stud once he bulks up a bit.
  21. Man I hope Melton gets a chance to pronounce this name in the spring.
  22. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Dec 19, 2016 -> 10:06 AM) Very distracting for me. Not because it was done poorly, because it was probably the best work I've ever seen, but because I kept staring at his mouth and judging how well it looked. Was not paying attention to a single thing he was actually saying.
  23. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Dec 18, 2016 -> 09:15 PM) I like that Rogue One improves A New Hope by . Yep, this was easily the best thing to come out of the movie and can finally end the 40 year criticism of why they would ever design it like that.
  24. Attempting to win the claim on Montgomery for the championship game. People in our league who are out of the playoffs are still continuing to pick up players on waivers to be dicks, so I hope no one takes him, as I have priority over my opponent. Once I put Melvin Gordon back in my lineup, and if I win Montgomery, I'll be projected to win like 106 to 97 or something.
  25. Woah, I came back against the biggest projected loss of the year! I was projected to lose 85 to 111 when the week started. I picked up Powell and played him which paid off big. Ended up catching up a bit until he had Matt Ryan and Matt Bryant go off for him. Going in to the 2nd half of the LAST game of the matchup (Dal vs. TB), I was trailing by 33 points (101 to 68) with my Elliot, Bailey, and Brate against his Mike Evans. I was projected to lose by 17. And BOOM, Elliot TD. Boom Brate TD, Boom, 3 Bailey FGs and a 40+ yard run by Elliot to push him over 100 yards and earn me a bonus point. Holy s*** I was freaking out, but ended up winning 111 to 104. Mike Evans didn't do anything for him in that 2nd half.
