  1. Bought a computer last night on a configuration website. I'm going to be using this thing for video editing, photoshop, some video games hopefully. How do you guys think I did? Intel® Core™ i5-6600K Processor (4x 3.50GHz/6MB L3 Cache) Corsair Hydro Series H55 120mm Liquid CPU Cooler - Standard 120mm Fan Corsair 16GB DDR4-2133 Memory NVIDIA GeForce GTX950 2GB MSI B150 PC Mate -- 2x PCIe 3.0 x16, 4x USB 3.1, 2x USB 2.0, DDR4 Memory 800 Watt - Standard 80 PLUS Bronze 256GB SanDisk Z400S SSD LG 14x Blu-ray Re-Writer, DVD±R/±RW Burner Combo Drive 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard And then a bunch of free stuff like a gaming keyboard, headset, Just Cause 3, CSGO, and World of Warships, Heroes of the Storm Bundle: the Diablo hero, Kajo skin, and 7-day Stim Pack 802.11AC Dual Band Wireless USB Adapter. Any guesses on what that all should have cost me?
  2. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 26, 2015 -> 12:38 AM) I think it's reasonable to call them both 4-ish win players. Quintana's contract is better and he's coming off a better season, so he's got more value. Some of that is negated by the fact that pitchers are more volatile than position players. I agree that Quintana has more value than Puig, but the difference is not anywhere in the same universe as including either Seager or Urias, let alone both of them. Including Avi is nothing; he's close to worthless right now. Montas is nice but again not even close to either of those other guys. Exactly. Quintana for Puig is slightly favorable in the Dodgers favor, in my opinion. But the combination of Seager and Urias (Top 2 prospects in baseball) are FAR FAR FAR FAR more valuable than Avi, Montas, and Nate Jones. I mean, hell, you could remove Puig completely from that deal and the Dodgers probably would not even do it.
  3. Career 116 wRC+ vs righties. Dave Cameron predicted he would sign with us for like $5M I think. I love this deal.
  4. Also, I have 0 ideas on how to pronounce his name. My best guess is Con/El.
  5. I got to see Almonte in September against Myrtle Beach Pelicans in the High-A playoffs. He flashed some really good stuff, but would lose it inning to inning. He touched 98 a couple of times and threw some really hard tight sliders. But his slider slipped a LOT and he missed high a ton. I was really excited to see him get some refinement, but I suppose it's very possible Coop targeted this guy as someone we can work with. I hope someone asks Hahn/Coop about this guy at some point soon, or at least at SoxFest.
  6. I think it's a good strategy. I bet a lot of players who have money already, would, all other things being equal, would think it would be cool to be a hero of a franchise for many many many years.
  7. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Nov 23, 2015 -> 07:00 AM) Q, Garcia, Montas and Jones for Puig, Seager, and Urias
  8. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 08:18 PM) Q, Adams, and Fulmer for Puig and Corey Seager? Would that be fair for both teams? That would be a steal for the Sox. Can't see the Dodgers trading Puig AND the best prospect in baseball without asking for Anderson in there too with those 3.
  9. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 10:39 PM) Well that sucked. Darling was good, but the getting outshot...not so much Kind of surprising how much Tuevo and Dano really do help offensively.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 07:13 PM) AA most likely. Alvarez and Engel are the most exciting fringe-prospects we have in my mind. I can not wait to see their 2016 campaigns.
  11. It's frustrating because sometimes when I turn it on, it gets past the ATT boot and says "Android is optimizing apps...." and then it starts counting towards 93 (the number of apps I have). But at some point it freezes and restarts and then won't get back to that screen. It gives me hope every time it starts doing that, and then it never comes through. My phone is under a year old, so I am not concerned about having a broken phone. I'm concerned about losing my photos/videos that weren't backed up. Plus I would have loved to not have to do all those settings and widgets and custom stuff I did on it.
  12. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 12:28 PM) As an Android user, don't you use Google Photos or Google Drive? Even I, as an iPhone user use Google Photos/Drive, and all of my photos are backed up there. Google Photos backed up 90% of the stuff, but there were a lot of folders, including my camera roll for some reason, that were not auto backing up.
  13. Start Fulmer in A+ Winston-Salem, honestly. Give him 2 or 3 starts to stretch out and gain a little confidence. Then get him up to Birmingham and let him ride out most of the year there, maybe give him a cup of coffee in AAA if he responds well. I wouldn't even consider Fulmer making the bigs until 2017, IMO.
  14. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 01:57 PM) Are people actually calling him that though? I heard a couple guys say it in the preseason and early on in the regular season but not since. Did it really stick? Anyone on social media does. The DrunkKane88 twitter account even makes BreadMan t-shirts and sweatshirts now.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 06:47 AM) I think it's a bit crazy to call him a "right-handed Mark Trumbo" because his numbers declined over the course of his rookie season. Like all young players, he'll need to make adjustments, but the power & on-base skills are legit. He has a chance to be one of the best hitters in baseball, something our system doesn't currently have in the pipeline. What I don't get is the love for Jorge Soler. Dude put up Avi-like numbers last year, is a horrible defender (poor instincts), and is made of glass. If he's the centerpiece of a Quintana trade, you're very likely going to be on the losing end of the deal. While Jorge Soler carries the biggest name in that group, realize that Gleyber Torres is their #1 prospect, and Contreras is probably top 3 or 4. It's not Soler + a couple of random guys. It's actually a very strong return if you are willing to concede that Soler isn't a bust after 120 major league games. And I will disagree wholeheartedly with Schwarber having a chance to be the best hitter in baseball. I don't imagine anything close to that.
  16. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 10:05 PM) Love Panarin. Hate his stupid nickname. I was pushing for BreadBoy, considering that was an occupation and he also looks like a 15 year old kid. "Man" didn't fit, but it appears BreadMan has won...so... oh well.
  17. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 06:51 PM) 100% agree. I still think a Quintana for Schwarber & Baez trades makes sense for both teams. Don't think it will happen though. I don't understand the obsession with Schwarber. Right, I get it, he has a thunderous bat. But he is also a DH. And he is going to be figured out by pitchers. Look at his numbers as the season went on, month by month.... June - .364 AVG, .982 OPS July - .302 AVG, .900 OPS August - .221 AVG, .861 OPS Sept/Oct - .208 AVG, .741 OPS He started to get HR happy and his average plummeted. He is a right-handed Mark Trumbo.
  18. If we are making a trade with the Cubs for Quintana, I want Soler and Gleyber Torres. or Soler, Happ, and Willson Contreras. It's a steep price, but Quintana makes their rotation extremely dangerous, and the only contributor to their near future they lose is Soler.
  19. Neil Walker would be completely fine with me, although only having 1 more year of control isn't ideal, unless we "give it a go" again in 2016 and Hahn adds a few strong pieces this offseason to contend. I would see if he could handle 3B so we can give Micah a fair shake at 2B. Or bounce Walker between 2B and 3B and having Micah and Saladino play on the opposite side of Walker. Of course what is the price? Article says Pirates would want young pitching. For a 1 year rental, I would throw then Montas. Or instead, Erik Johnson plus a lower level guy. Walker will apparently cost about $10M.
  20. Dellin Betances and Shawn Tolleson were better pitchers in 2015 according to 2 writers....A couple thought Marco Estrada was better..... Holy f***, ban those writers immediately.
  21. Kurt Sutter pulls a "You can't break up with me, because I'm breaking up with you!" cocks*** move and cancels Bastard Executioner before FX made any decision on it. Guess I'm not going to be watching any of his future projects.
  22. QUOTE (MnSoxFan @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 07:11 AM) Rice?? I thought Engel went to Louisville. Ah right, Engel went to Louisville, Christian Stringer went to Rice. Mixed up their alma maters.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 07:43 AM) Since Chilhead seems to be in call-out mode, I'll point these out... Calm down, I was applauding JPN. He picked about the best sleeper pick you can choose outside of a Mark Buehrle. He wins forever.
  24. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 16, 2015 -> 09:50 AM) Thanks for the update! I've been riding the sad, sad Engel train for a while now, hopefully it's finally picking up speed. I remember watching his CWS games for Rice and being excited about him hopefully signing and coming aboard. But let the record show that Danman said this before Engel signed.... QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 09:06 PM) Maybe Engel bites for that much, but honestly, he doesn't interest me at all.
  25. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 10:42 PM) Jose Quintana. Going to the day game tomorrow and will be there the entire time, so I'll get a good look at him.
