  1. Do you guys know the Sox and Hawks are playing right now? How are you watching the Cubs game, and live-commenting on it? That's obsessive-hate. I mean, I watch a lot of Cubs game, but that's what nothing else is on. I don't hate-watch instead of watching my favorite teams......come on.
  2. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 07:51 AM) So now that their elite prospects are with the big leagues, where does the Cubs farm system rank? 10-15? Dayn Perry tweeted out right after Russell got called up that the Cubs system sure does suck. lol. They "lost" Bryant, Russell, Soler so far. Then again, Sox also lost Rodon. But as we know, the draft will help repopulate that system for both teams, since we are picking at #8 and #9 respectively.
  3. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 01:50 AM) I flipped on Quick Pitch at 10pm PST tonight, and Rodon was the first story up, then the walkoff win. Yep. I was just coming back here to post that.
  4. Rodon got called up and I saw NOTHING on MLB Network about it. Russell gets called up today, and it's the first segment I see when I flip on MLB Network and it's scrolling on the ticker as BREAKING NEWS. I always wished MLB Network would be able to stay away from the bias that ESPN is deep in to.
  5. I was at the game tonight. Freezing my ass off above the bullpen bar. We stayed for the entire 9 innings, so, what I'm trying to say is... You're welcome.
  6. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 10:52 PM) Walk off win - Bryant post in the post game thread. I hate this kid as much as Puig now and I've never even seen him hit. I know he didn't hit a HR because I didn't get a BREAKING NEWS alert on my phone from The Score or ESPN.
  7. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 04:03 PM) I severely doubt any of you would make this mistake, but incase you might, Id recommend not seeing Unfriended. my god I cant believe how bad that movie was. It wasnt even so bad its funny, its just bad. Half way through the movie the whole theater just started talking amongst themselves because it was so bad. I've honestly never even heard of it. Sounds like a comedy.
  8. The new Star Wars movie looks awesome. Then they also released a teaser for the OTHER new Star Wars movie called "Rogue One", which is an anthology movie set between Episodes III and IV, and is about a band of rebel fighters who work to steal the plans of the Death Star. Apparently there will be no Jedis in the movie, because they want it as realistic a Star Wars movie as they can make. It's going to be a hardcore war movie in the vein of Saving Private Ryan, Blackhawk Down, etc. I think that's an interesting take that may bring in viewers who aren't big Star Wars fans, but do enjoy war movies.
  9. QUOTE (oldsox @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 07:16 AM) I think Sanchez deserves more of an opportunity than that initial stretch last year after his late season call up. He might have had some rookie jitters. I would rather have him on the bench than Bonifacio. Right, that was my point. It's not like Sanchez is some veteran player who we could have in there instead of Micah. Both are very inexperienced, so why should we assume Sanchez would be any better?
  10. I hope the Indians don't smoke Danks today on 4/20. In any case, I'll be there.
  11. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 10:42 PM) Nope. Feeky won. Off by two days. Nah. Feeky said that's what HE'D do. He didn't guess what the Sox would do. Feels good to win.
  12. Oh, and has anyone posted the back page of the Sun Times yet? I expect a full page dedicated to Rodon.
  13. I've been at work all day, but I can only assume ESPN and MLB Network and Twitter have been blowing up about the Carlos Rodon call-up right? I assume MLB Network will go in live to his first appearance, right?
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 05:07 PM) C'mon, Dan... Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 2m2 minutes ago Gonna guess Carlos Rodon wears No. 16. Wore No. 80 in spring training. Has worn 16 in past. To be honest, I had no idea what was wrong with him wearing #16. Figured out the reason. I think if I had to name all the Sox retired people, I would have never thought of Ted Lyons. I don't blame Dan for forgetting.
  15. QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 09:23 PM) I know it's early, but Sanchez had the second highest average of any Sox hitter in Spring Training, with a .425 avg. He went 2 for 3 in his only AB's, when the season started, and he has been on fire at Charlotte. His defense is outstanding, and I'd like to see him bat in the 2 hole, which would allow Melky to be moved into a spot where he could drive in more runs. In addition, he seems quite adept at batting second, which is a more valuable spot in the lineup than the 9TH hitter. Why not let Johnson have a full year at AAA, and earn a spot? Based upon what Sanchez did at Charlotte last year, and how he has come out of the "starting gate," he deserves a shot. Micah did earn a spot. Carlos has had 103 ABs in the majors. He has a .280 OBP, .591 OPS, 26 strike outs. He hasn't really set the world on fire in the majors either. Difference is, Micah is much faster and has drawn the same amount of walks in 1/4 of the PAs.
  16. Welp, I'm off to work. Can't expect I'll miss too many exciting things.
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 12:48 PM) Conor wearing battling gloves now? Weird. Maybe due to rain? I don't recall what he did in the rain last year besides not smile.
  18. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 12:45 PM) Q has looked horrible for some time now, I don't think he is gonna get any better. He was picked up as a project and it looks like the project has peaked and is now hurting us. He better turn it around or we are in for a world of hurt this year Elaborate.
  19. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 12:44 PM) What a pathetic inning. And Cooper is too lazy to get out of the dugout and talk to his pitcher after loading the bases It was raining, he didn't want to get wet man.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 12:42 PM) What's the chances of actual severe rain? That's all I'm thinking about right now. Q isn't likely to make it past 4 innings at this point.
  21. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 12:41 PM) What inning do we have to get to before this is a postponed game? 4 1/2 if the Tigers are winning or tied. 5 full if the Tigers are losing.
  22. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 12:36 PM) Could we see a 40-pitch, scoreless inning? Naaaaah.
