  1. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 01:43 PM) Prices fluctuate wildly. I'll use two examples for guys I've checked repeatedly: Bumgarner (because I wanted to sell him) and Abreu (because I eventually bought him). Abreu was as high as 38k when the game first came out. Since then, he usually settles in between 16 and 20k. However, I was able to buy him at 12k and have seen him between 12 and 14k pretty often. I've seen Bumgarner as high as 22k. Unfortunately, no one bought him when I listed him in the 20's for whatever reason. The last few days, he's generally been between 14k and 18k. I finally sold him for 17k. With those kind of fluctuations, you can easily buy low and make a few thousand stubs. I bought Abreu for 13,000 I think.
  2. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 01:34 PM) It seems like you got extremely lucky with your packs. I've opened at least 20 and I got one gold card (luckily it was Bumgarner, who I sold for about 17k). I know a guy that dropped like $50 on stubs and he got 3 gold cards (Bautista, Aramis Ramirez and Lucroy). Diamond players are supposed to show up in about one pack out of 100, which is why the prices are so high. You can definitely flip cards to get enough stubs to buy players pretty easily, but you still have to get in-demand players first (or buy stubs). I don't know, I bet if I decided to use all the subs I have buying packs and selling guys I don't need, I will have an all-star team in no time. I mean, my worst offensive player right now I think is Carlos Ruiz at an 83 overall. I think I have 5 90+ hitters already.
  3. So I think the marketplace is a little broken in DD. Once you get a really good player, sell that player, make a s*** ton of money, use that money to buy a bunch of packs, gets another good player in those packs, sell that guy, repeat. I sold my extra Puig card for 19,000. Used that to buy 7 packs. In those 7, I picked up a Jose Bautista and a Troy Tulowitzki. Decided to keep both. Then opened up a SECOND Bautista card. Sold it for like 14,000. Then decided to sell my Cole Hamels card that I never get to pitch with anyway for like 11,000. Then used all those extra players to feed to my created player. I now have Puig, Tulo, and Jose Bautista in my lineup, my created player is a 99, and I have like 35,000 stubs in the bank still. I have a feeling I could have a super team in the next few days and will probably get bored with this mode. I think they need to SEVERELY nerf the amount these cards sell for. I could get 57,000 for just my Tulo card alone. That would buy me 57 more packs. That's over 300 players! Chances are in those 300, I will get at least 3 more diamond players, and the cycle will never end.
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 09:21 PM) Also is Micah Johnson not in the game? Do they update rosters with new players? In the past, they've updated rosters on Mondays. So he will be there next Monday.
  5. My predictions for tomorrow.... Sox win 6-3. Shark allows 2 HR early, we all freak out, but he goes 6 innings and strikes out 9. Avi and LaRoche homer, Abreu a pair of doubles, Micah steals 2 bags, and Robertson gets a shaky save with runners on base.
  6. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 09:32 PM) So I logged out/in a few minutes ago because I'm having trouble connecting to The Show servers. When I got back, the trophy for earning a diamond item popped up when I got my daily rewards. I was unzipping my pants in anticipation, then when I scrolled to it, it was a sponsorship deal, not a player. After my initial disappointment, I thought, "well, maybe I can still sell it for a bunch on the marketplace." I scrolled through to find mine, and it's going for like 1,500 studs. I'd have been better off getting a decent silver. I threw a 2-hitter with Miguel Gonzalez in DD, and after the game it said that I lost connection to the server and it would upload the game result later. It never did.
  7. I don't know if anyone caught it or even remembers, but in the 1st inning, Fowler crossed home plate after the 3rd out was made on a force out at 1st. The crowed erupted when Fowler "scored". So adorable.
  8. Soler with a nice few bobbles in RF assuring Heyward scores easily from 2nd base. Cubs losing in 2015. Never thought I'd see it.
  9. I couldn't find the regular predictions thread, so here's this.... AL East: Blue Jays Central: Tigers West: Angels Wild Card 1: Red Sox Wild Card 2: White Sox MVP: Mike Trout Cy Young: Chris Sale ROY: Carlos Rodon Wild card Round: White Sox over Red Sox ALDS: Angels over White Sox, Tigers over Blue Jays ALCS: Angels over Tigers NL East: Nationals Central: Cardinals West: Dodgers Wild Card 1: Pirates Wild Card 2: Padres MVP: Andrew McCutchen Cy Young: Clayton Kershaw ROY: Jung-Ho Kang Wild card Round: Pirates over Padres NLDS: Nationals over Pirates , Dodgers over Cardinals NLCS: Nationals over Dodgers World Series: Nationals over Angels
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 10:06 AM) AAA and AA Those 2 are playable. Then they also have Single-A to just store players until they are ready.
  11. New Ludacris CD came out. Has a few really good songs on it, but about half of it is "meh".
  12. Nashville has 2 points on us. Would be great to close it out strong and take that #1 seed. Last we did that....it ended pretty well.
  13. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 12:55 AM) I think I'm going to wait on the show until the new rosters come out, and a few patches come out. Really want it, but want to start a franchise with the full minors. May as well just get it now and start building your DD or RTTS player while you wait. I never start my franchise until the OSFM rosters are done, which is always at least a month.
  14. Oh baby, figured out how to get my 15 free packs, and just got a Cole Hamels card. 88 overall. Very nice.
  15. I don't know if anyone is on the fence about buying The Show or not, but some buddies of mine starts a website for games and movies and other stuff I guess, and they asked me to write a review for The Show. So I crapped out a 1300 word review tonight in about an hour if anyone needs an opinion before purchasing. I think he said he would publish the article tomorrow.
  16. Stupid f***ing paywall. I got to see 1 picture.
  17. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 09:03 PM) I thought there was always a cutoff button QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 09:07 PM) There has been lol. Wrong. There has always been a "throw to cut off" button. This is the ability to cut a throw that has already been made. You have already hit X to throw to home, and mid-flight, you can force your fielder to cut the throw provided that the throw is able to be cut. It's a brand new feature this year, I promise you.
  18. The "cut off" button in The Show is just wonderful.
  19. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 02:43 PM) Waiting for the OSFM is always the hardest part when getting the game. Guess I will just play RTTS until then. Yeah, but this year it *should* only take 3 weeks they say, versus years past where it was 1-2 months. And that's not for just Knight's OSFM, that's for the Hybrid set too, which does edits on major league players and is even better than regular OSFM.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 09:27 AM) Oh you have to "buy" the 15 packs, but it'll be free. Don't go to the pack store, but go to the place where you can buy stubs. It'll be there. Ok, I'll give that a shot.
  21. Why do people hate Scott Carroll? Not only is he a decent emergency starter, but he seems like a really likeable and fun guy. Weird hatred.
  22. Thank you, thank you very much. I'll be here all week.
  23. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 09:27 AM) Lol, was wondering who would be the first to do something like this. I thought about going the Samardzija extension route, but I thought this would be slightly more believable, and infuriating for many.
  24. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 07:17 AM) I doubt we've seen the last of Chuck already. Oh, I'm not suggesting that. I'm just saying, at some point we knew they had to dislike each other (or Chuck had to die). I just didn't expect it in Season 1.
