5/14 White Sox @ Twins
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to Swingandalongonetoleft's topic in 2013 Season in Review
Alex did not barrel it up at all, he flicked it off the end of his bat. Either way, a single. -
The Rizzo deals seems like a big risk for a guy who hasn't even spent 1 year in the majors yet w/ the Cubs. I mean, in his 3 years of arb coming up, he would't have gotten anywhere close to $40M, unless he turns in to a perennial all-star 1B over that time.

QUOTE (bbilek1 @ May 14, 2013 -> 03:19 PM) Is Greene starting? Gillaspie should be back right? Correia is a righty. No Green tonight, Gillaspie and Kepp are in. And Dunn moved up to the 4th spot, Tank dropped to 5th because GOD FORBID WE HAVE 2 LEFTIES HIT BACK TO BACK (Gillaspie is hitting 6th). -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 13, 2013 -> 10:07 PM) Would have enjoyed it (Pain & Gain) a lot more without having read the detailed Collins story on actual story. Dwayne Johnson's character has totally been changed from real life. Wahlberg did an interview on Howard Stern and said they never even met w/ the guys who did these crimes and they decided since no one else probably knows who these guys are, he could change their characters without anyone saying anything.

QUOTE (mataipaepae @ May 13, 2013 -> 11:43 PM) so is he an outfielder or can he be a 3rd base prospect? Wow, he does sound like a Viciedo clone. Ha.

He has a dangerous first name to scream out loud.

Zach Stewart is quietly putting himself in a position for the 2014 rotation. lol, /jokes.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 13, 2013 -> 05:02 PM) I really look forward to watching Hector pitch these days. My buddy wants me to come over and watch the Bulls game and I'm all like.......gaaahhh, Hector is pitching though.......

Micah Johnson, 2-5, 2B, RBI, BB, CS No steal for once, but AVG up to .317

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 12, 2013 -> 03:06 PM) more improvement by Danks. 6 innings, 7 hits, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K. He recovered nicely, but I won't be satisfied until I see his velocity back in the low 90s.

When Will the Sox be Competitive Again?
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to Disco72's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm saying 2015. Dunn, Rios, and Konerko will all be off the books by then. I'm hoping that saved money will go to getting some talent in here. -
QUOTE (Brian @ May 12, 2013 -> 05:50 AM) Because its creepy or you didn't like it? I thought it was good. Original concept that worked. Director used lighting really well. I liked that we didn't see anything outside the coffin. Because it freaked me out and is the only movie that has ever given me physical anxiety. Lol. It was a good movie, it just really stressed me out.

QUOTE (flavum @ May 12, 2013 -> 11:49 AM) Holmberg's got an ERA under 2 at AA. #cantletitgo I was fine w/ trading Hudson then and now, but I hated losing Holmberg from the beginning.

Danks got hit around in his 1st IP. 4 H, 2 ER.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 11, 2013 -> 10:53 PM) Verlander had to use 110 pitches just to get through 5. Didn't have his normal stuff (still) according the announcers. Maybe this is the year all those high pitch counts start to catch up with him. CLE really battled with him, many elongated at-bats. We say/think that every year and he never slows down. I do however get immense pleasure every time I see him struggle, I think, OH MY GOD, THIS IS IT!!!!!! And then he usually does great next in his next start. -
Orphan Black. Good, but the tail thing creeped me out.

QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 11, 2013 -> 10:27 PM) I'm starting to get the same feeling, will probably shell out for a ultrabook, and getting the tablet down the road. My phone serves me fine with on the go computing. Why not just shell out for a Microsoft Surface Pro? Then you have a laptopn AND a tablet in one, and it comes w/ a snap-on keyboard.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 11, 2013 -> 09:47 PM) Dunn. Wow. 0-4 with 3 Ks at home. What a worthless baseball player. Indians actually have a decent team. They finished off that game by retiring Cabrera to end the game. If Sox get second pick in the draft this year behind the Marlins, are any certain stars available? Trout-like guys or Harper/Strasburg types? Like Caufield said, there are still some bad teams to gobble up those first handful of picks. So far I haven't heard of any phenoms like Harper or Strasburg coming down the pipeline, but that draft is still 13 months away, so who knows what players crop up. Regardless, it would be REAL nice to have a top 10 pick again. 4 of the last 5 top 10 picks we've had turned out to be real solid or Hall of Famers (Alex Fernandez, Frank Thomas, Robin Ventura, and Jack McDowell). The other one is Gordon Beckham.

Hey, it's alright, I really thought he's be a Mike Napoli-lite. A lot of us are big dummies right now.

QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 11, 2013 -> 10:20 PM) Have all you pretty much moved on from laptops onto tablets? My laptop is on its last breath and I'm looking to replace it soon? Kind of scared to give up the keyboard. I mostly use it for browsing, forums, streaming video, but occasionally I'd like to type up a email or two etc. Recommendations ? I guess the Microsoft Surface could be a happy compromise. I think that device can still run .exe files and software, but I'd look in to that. I'd never replace a real computer with a tablet because of all the limits a tablet has. IMO, tablets are toys, laptops/desktops are necessities.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 11, 2013 -> 09:47 PM) Buried was a huge, sleeper (sorry, bad joke) hit at Sundance but never managed to take off in the mainstream. I don't recommend anyone see it....ever.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 11, 2013 -> 10:14 PM) Foul ball came through the press box window and destroyed the display on my laptop and now I need to repair it ASAP. It's a Samsung R580. Everything else works perfectly by the display is shattered and holographic. Anyone have any ideas? Geek Squad is going to rape me in fees. What are you doing in the press box?

QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 11, 2013 -> 10:13 PM) If people go I want Kenny Williams gone from organization with no say so on any player decisions EVER again! I don't think Kenny is the problem, but I WOULD actually like to see him completely gone just so we can know without any uncertainty that this is a 100% Rick Hahn team. I don't like not knowing what Kenny is influencing.
