Dan Bailey just missed a 24 yard FG........you've got to be kidding me. The Cowboys kicker position has been like the White Sox CF problem over the past handful of years. It's embarrassing. They better not attempt another FG this game.... -

Alright, let's go Dallas. Get the ball to Austin and Witten and I will be very happy! Starting Plaxico over Britt really screwed me over today, so I need a huge game from someone! -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 18, 2011 -> 01:43 AM) I understand that. Doesn't make it less strange. Of all the places for a truly national University to be it's in Northern Indiana? Hey, easy there buddy!!! And don't think for a moment that tons of people aren't fans simply because they are of Irish heritage. If there was a team called the Fighting Italians instead, they would probably get a lot of Italian fans too. Their rich history of success and their mascot play in to it a lot, I believe. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 18, 2011 -> 01:31 AM) That's a decent comparison. I've had typical experiences with ND fans that are just ridiculous. For the MSU game last year I was at a friend's place watching it and a few ND fans were there. One of them wanted Kelly on the hot seat immediately. Not to mention, a football program in Indiana? How were they ever good? Hard to imagine an entitled fan base for football in a well below average football state in terms of talent and popularity of the sport. A lot of ND fans are idiots. But that's also because there are a ton of ND fans and the dumb annoying ones are going to stick out more than the normal, level headed ones, which I like to think of myself as such. -

I think Notre Dame is hated in the same way that Derek Jeter is hated. It's not because of any character flaws or things Jeter has done in the past to deserve all the hate, but because everyone over-hypes him and acts like he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. At least, that's what it seems whenever I talk to ND haters. They just hate the attention and hype that comes w/ a team that hardly ever lives up to it. -

Huge win for ND today. Rees did not look good at all, but the defense did a great job not allowing points or the big plays. -
Beane on Pitt playing him, Moneyball movie

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 10:46 AM) Keith Law seems to have mistaken Moneyball for a White Sox minor league prospect. I assume Keith Law was left out of the movie? That sucks for him, he is god's gift to baseball. -
The limo scene was f***ing hilarious.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 04:13 PM) RENT NO BUY Good point. Not because it's not a great game, but because it only takes about 9-10 hours to complete, and considering how compelling the storyline is, you could complete it all in a few sittings (or one, like I did).

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 07:46 PM) Thanx, I'll check those out. I prefer the NHL 2K series over the EA version for the PS2, is the NHL from EA better for PS3? EA's version of NHL on the newer gens is amazing. Probably not as big of a difference as it is from MLB The Show to 2K baseball, but I would gather it's still very sizable.

Jeremy Reed, and then Josh Fields. More recently, Gordon Beckham, but I think that's too premature to rule him a failure. EDIT: Oh, and Brandon McCarthy for sure. Only player I have ever shed a tear over leaving the team. But he really isn't a bust IMO.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 08:27 AM) Always Sunny and The League premiere tonight! OMG, The League is on tonight? Holy s***, I thought it was October something. Are you sure it's new tonight? I have not seen many commercials. EDIT: Nah, October 6th. http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/originals/theleague/

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 11:09 AM) Just got me a PS3, my first 3 video games will be NBA 2K11, Madden '12 and Call Of Duty Modern Warfare. Which titles would anyone out there rrecommend? Heavy Rain, for sure. Amazing story.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 13, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) Wow. You're correct, skating around with a bunch of kids for PR is exactly what the organization should avoid. Accidents never happen, and clearly Toews is a Satan-worshiping, child-checking pit stain on this franchise. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 13, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) That was a total shot at anyone who talked down about Kane's off of the ice stupidity. ^This.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 13, 2011 -> 10:24 PM) Just got done watching the pilot of Breaking Bad. Pretty awesome. I just started to get my roommates and my cousin and a friend to watch it too. We are on S1E3 right now. I've seen all the episodes, multiple times, but it's fun to re-watch them all with Breaking Bad Virgins.
-
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 13, 2011 -> 08:06 AM) Toews gettin some jokes/partial hate for this. Toews needs to grow up. He isn't representing the organization very well with s*** like this. It's embarrassing.

What is Big Buff doing in there? I thought the theme was #23 for a while there.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 12:27 PM) The first 3 seasons are now streaming on Netflix. Buy it for a month and BOOM! Seriously? f*** yeah. I mean, I have seen them all, but now I can get my friends/family in to watching it.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 11:58 AM) Anyone know a place online where I can watch Breaking Bad? The new episode got cut off by the 9/11 tribute thing and stopped recording. tvduck.com

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 08:47 PM) Still a good chance he'll make the Diamondbacks postseason roster. How? I thought he would have had to have been on the 25-man roster before Sept 1st to be eligible? No?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) MRI tomorrow for Sam Bradford, concern about him having nerve damage in his finger/hand. OMG, are you kidding me???? Ok....now I feel bad.... QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 11:57 PM) I swear, this is White Sox baseball all over again for me. I fear what will happen to my Cowboys and Rams tomorrow. I can only assume Romo and Bradford get season ending injuries, and just to piss on my fantasy team, Miles Austin and Steven Jackson will also suffer injuries. So far, Jackson and Bradford have been injured. Romo and Austin playing right now.....I'm crossing my fingers. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) Didn't watch the game, but what are people's impressions on Reed? His peripherals remain through the roof in the Majors. 6 K, 0 BB in 2.1 innings so far. Not a big sample, but it's exactly what he did in the minors all year. I have not gotten to see very much of Reed yet, but in his debut he looked VERY sharp in his 2nd inning of work. Today I missed his inning, but I see he was hitting 96 and 97 on the gun, which I believe is a few ticks better than his debut. -
QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) Wow, knocked around Trevor Bauer. cool. This is Game 4, BTW. Birmingham is down 2-1 going into this game. Bauer has now given up 17 ER in his last 4 1/3 IP. Wow.
