Valencia. Sosa took pitches because he is a b**** and wanted it to ruin it without having to do much effort, but Buehrle still got his no-hitter. Valencia took a pitch he had no business swinging at and flipped it down the line. Asshole.

Well, I guess Tommy Rees it is. Dayne Crist seemed to have s*** himself. He hasn't played in like 10 months though. -
The Return of Adam Dunn, 9/05. 12:05

Does Viciedo seriously lead off every single inning? I mean, he he hitting nearly .500, and only has 1 RBI that didn't come on a HR. He always hits leadoff or with no one on base for him. Wish he was batting 4th, or 3rd at this point. -
So Ian Gac wins the MVP, and Andy Wilkin's #s are not to far off. I think my AAP was a success this year!

I'd cream my panties for a LaRussa/Duncan combo. I mean, if Coop didn't want to stay, of course. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 3, 2011 -> 12:38 AM) Is Wilkins really perceived as a legit prospect to be an everyday MLB 1B, full-time? Obviously he put up some strong numbers this season...but I've never seen him on any Top 10-15 prospect lists for the White Sox, and with the depth of our system, that's pretty telling. After the season he has had, I can see him cracking some Top10 prospect lists, certainly top 15.

2/4 for Wilkins w/ his 22nd HR and 85th and 86th RBI.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 2, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) Wasn't it Floyd and Thome that beat the Twins in that 1 game playoff? Danks. I was there. Danks threw like a 2-hit shutout, Thome hit a monster HR to the fandeck in CF. -

Just by following Gameday, it's good to see the Sox players are starting to take more pitches, and get in hitters counts. Verlander does not seem to hitting his spots, and threw 32 pitches between the 2nd and 3rd innings. They need to keep working him, and see if we can get him out of there and work on that bullpen. -

6 pitch 1st. Not encouraging. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 2, 2011 -> 01:35 AM) You're assuming Buehrle resigns, Peavy's arm isn't amputated, Sale can hang as a starter, Danks isn't traded, and Humber was nothing more than a first-half fluke? I was figuring Peavy-Danks-Floyd-Humber-Stewart-Sale and then you can throw in Santiago and maybe even Davis who are all ahead of Axelrod. I would say Axel is like #9 in line, and that's assuming Buehrle walks.

2011-2012 Bowling Season
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to kageman129's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 10:47 AM) How many middle-age men play fast-pitch softball? Also bowling was a really popular sport when I was a kid. The alley I bowled at had 32 lanes and they were full every Saturday morning. First for a 9:30AM league and then an 11:30AM league. For some reason the popularity of the sport has gone way, way down in the past 10 years or so. My daughter bowls in a league where there is only about 10-12 teams total spread throughout all the age groups. The place I play is always packed. 40 lanes, full with leagues every weekend, and then on $1 game nights (Mon and Wed) there are usually a wait to get a lane. I think my leagues when I played had like 12-14 teams in each league, and about 5 or 6 leagues between 6-19 years old. -
QUOTE (Capn12 @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 01:31 PM) I'm late to the party, so to speak, but I've spent the last 4-5 days playing NCAA Football 12. I enjoy the dynasty as a coach this year. I started as an OC, with the Akron Zips of all teams. Horrible, horrible level of talent. Went 4-8 the first year, my top recruit being a 3* Punter sadly. Next year, 3-9 (mostly simulated the game part). Offered the head coaching job at Maryland, and jumped at it. Enjoyable game so far, though I get frustrated with the super defense pass tipping. Tell me about it. Linebackers can tip any pass that is less than 15 yards past them. And cornerbacks react in a twitch. It's hard to pass over the middle in that game.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 04:49 PM) I would only do it if I can get fine quality paper (like the one the publisher uses) or else it would seem really cheap... Nah, I have done it every year and it looks good if the size is right and you cut it straight. I mean, it goes under the plastic covering, so you can't tell it's not the same material as the rest of it. Just make sure you print on "BEST" and you have ink. It's good.

God damn, Axelrod seems pretty legit. I wonder if he gets a fair shot with us, or is traded off since we are like 6 starters deep for next year.

Wow, how can they not call up Milledge? I mean, he is on the 40-man, and he can definitely help this team win. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 12:28 PM) omg, omg, omg, omg, omg. That's so amazing. I'm a huge Cowboys fan, and happen to be wearing my Ware jersey right now. If I were to get Madden this year, I would definitely use that s***. I have all my old Madden covers with Aikman, Roy Williams (safety), Marion Barber, Miles Austin, and Felix Jones for my last one. Also did Torry Holt and Steven Jackson as well since the Rams are my 2nd team.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread

They talked about the Sox on PTI just now, and Wilbon honestly thinks the Sox will win the divison, and he also gave a shoutout to all the young players who are performing, and started to talk about Viciedo, but it went to commercial and he got cut off.
