White Sox vs. Royals
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 14, 2011 -> 02:26 PM) You can take out Castro, Lilly and Flowers because they haven't played enough to compare to steady Juan. I'd disagree on Ramirez so that makes Juan fourth best on the team. Not bad.

White Sox vs. Royals
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 14, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) To the 80 percent of America who still follow batting average, his batting average is excellent. His defense is fine. His willingness to learn how to bunt and get a hit off a bunt is very excellent. He's a good ballplayer.

2011 Minor League Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) This is pretty impressive http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/multime...ent_id=17960703 Oh my god, I didn't realize that sign said "400" until just now. I thought it was hit to right-center, and figured the fence there was like 370 or so. That HR must have gone almost 500 ft, or at least 470.

Umps Strike 3 styles
QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 03:12 PM) I umpired almost every game when my son was playing Pinto ball (umpire two games and you get your parent fee back...but I was a sucker and umped them all). I liked to be all dramatic. On strike three, I'd point at the kid with my left hand and say "You're outta here, you little bastard!" while I made a punching move with my right hand. Usually the kid would start crying, and I'd toss him and tell him to sit down and think about being a man. The coach would then come out and start yelling. So I'd toss him, too. Oh god sir, you, are the man.

Viciedo with 2 more walks. He now has 10 BB to 4 K in his last 10 games. Snodgress with another nice outing. His past 8 IP he has allowed 8 hits, 1 ER, 2 BB, 9 K.

8/11 Games
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 08:30 AM) No one listens to me. Since getting sent down, here are his lines. 2.2 IP, 2 ER. 3.1 IP, 1 ER, 4 BB. 3.2 IP, 4 ER 5 IP, 1 ER 7 IP, 4 ER. Really doesn't look like a guy I'd call ready to jump 2 levels. Nope, it just looks like a guy who is easing back in to a starting job after being relegated to a relief spot where he only appeared twice in 3 weeks or so.

So.....are we destined to finish 81-81?- 2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 11:37 AM) Jake's Take - Peavy goes 1-on-1 with Adam Dunn http://www.csnchicago.com/08/10/11/bJakes-...&feedID=661 Lol. Dunn clearly uncomfortable about Jake's wording of "You are stuck with this guy for another 3 years". lol- Dayan Viciedo Watch
QUOTE (hi8is @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 12:44 AM) He sure has been drawing a lot of walks lately. Compared to last year... wow. I can imagine the conversation with Viciedo..... "Well kid, you sure can hit the f*** out of the ball, and your glovework in the OF is sufficient enough with that arm, but until you learn how to take a walk, you will never succeed in the bigs, so don't expect a call up soon." "Ok, coach, I'll work on it." ***triples his walk rate, decrease his K rate just for fun*** "Uhh.....maybe in September"- 8/10 games
Reed hasn't been great his past 2 outings. Rienzo with a couple dominating starts now. Last 10 innings he has allowed 4 hits, 0 ER, 1 BB, 11 K.- Who will finish with more bombs?
QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) C. Katherine Heigl /rim shot I don't get it.....- 2011 TV Thread
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 03:12 PM) Conan has been damn good too. Surprised that the ratings have been that awful. Well, because it's on TBS. I am a huge Conan fan and watched him at least 4 nights a week on NBC, but on TBS I don't even remember to catch him once a week. I've probably only seen 5 or 6 episodes this summer. TBS is just not a channel I watch very often.- Fake but Fun!
I just saw this about an hour ago. So fake, but really cool.- Who will finish with more bombs?
I have to believe it's Adam Dunn, based on history and that he will get significantly more chances to.- TV shows that died a premature death
QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 06:33 AM) Terriers. FX did a terrible job of marketing that show. Oh yeah, forgot about that one. Terriers was a real good show.- The Finer Things In Life
QUOTE (gatnom @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 12:33 AM) It's actually about 5%. Their website says 6.9%- Brent Morel
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 12:11 AM) I highly, highly doubt Morel will ever hit more than 15 hrs in a season and that might even be stretching it. He hit 16 in 2009, and 13 in 2010. I think he is completely capable of hitting 15 HR. 20 may be his max. - WS Winna!
