Andy Wilkins hasn't played in a while. I wonder what the issue is there....

Didn't Andruw Jones do something like this for the Dodgers? Like he decided to forfeit the final years of the contract or something since he was doing soo bad?

Happy Birthday homies. Party party party, let's all get wasted.

The funny thing is, that no matter how Mark did on the field (which unfortunately was not what we all hoped, including Mark), I'm not sure any Sox fan can say he was not a enjoyable person to have on the team. Great person to follow on Twitter, and never gave us any reason to question him as a person. Plus, those dogs you two have are pretty damn cool.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:14 PM) Seriously??? I'm so confused on the concept. Is it transformers of the water? Is it people in space playing REAL LIFE Battleships? All I know is, poor Liam Neeson. He is one of my favorite actors.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) No Breaking Bad thoughts yet? Skylar is awesomely evil, and I can't wait to see how Jesse spirals out. The Jesse storyline kind of bores me right now, but I loved the way they shot Skylar and that guy manipulating the Car Wash owner. Great editing and it really made me go "f*** yeah! Get him!" in my head while it was happening. I was pumped. A little disappointed how predictable the phone call scene was where Walt kept saying he won't call back, and he kept calling back. Figured the writers would have a better way to convey that. The whole Marie thing is pretty weird. She annoys me. I feel like there is so much tension building up between Hank and Marie that I am just expecting one of them to blow up on the other, but nothing so far. I really want to know what was in the diary of Gale's though.

I feel like I've answered this before.... Rios Ozzie, and it's not even close. There is a difference between trying your hardest and failing, and not giving a flying f*** and being lazy.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 08:17 AM) The 10 at bats he'll get will make a huge difference. QUOTE (Felix @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 08:27 AM) His potential playoff eligibility might. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 08:32 AM) Bingo.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:39 AM) He's not coming until September call-ups. I feel it. Should at least get called up on August 31st, in the event we are within 5 games of the division.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 02:35 PM) I had the same issue with the linebacker always jumping up and swatting the ball away. Try not throwing the bullet pass. I think that's what causes that to happen. Yeah, but even when I push the stick up, to influence the pass higher, the linebacker still gets to a pass that is going to land 15 yards behind him. It's not like I was throwing bullets through coverage and a hand was put up, those guys just leaped like no other.

Semien went 2/4, 2B. Walker went 2/6, SB.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 03:15 PM) But now that he's adopted the Captain Crunch diet, we're really doomed. You can't go wrong with the Captain. Ahhh, reminds me of this Onion article.... http://www.onionsportsnetwork.com/articles...-each-oth,2493/ and the ever-popular, strong side/weak side.... -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) What's up with the wave hate? Seriously, is fun so abhored by everyone? Do I participate? No. Does it offend me that kids get a kick out of it? Absolutely not. The game is not solely for stat nerds who need to see every 73 mph curveball thrown by Mark Buehrle. Kids are very important for the game, and the wave is a free activity that looks very cool to them. Any person here who says they didn't love the wave as a child is dead inside. Christ, the wave is 100x more entertaining than an Alex Rios at-bat. Yep. I generally don't participate in the wave either, but not because of any distaste I have for people having fun at the game, but usually because I am too lazy. Haha. I'll do the throw the arms up while sitting down manuever maybe. But I don't see the point in wasting energy to hate it and be a killjoy for those who enjoy it. Not everyone goes to baseball games to scout the players and watch every single pitch. People go for the atmosphere, the fun, the people, the entertainment, and the relaxation. Hell, I don't even see 80% of the pitches in a game. I am talking to someone, getting food, watching drunk fans, taking in the ballpark, texting on my phone, going to the bathroom, what have you. God forbid some kids who don't even understand what is going on in front of them take part in the wave. Even if they do pay attention, it's not like standing for 1-2 seconds at a time is going to throw you off so much that you have no idea what is transpiring on the massive field in front of your eyes.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 12:04 PM) Have fun doing the wave, "getting loud" when you are told to do so, and being an obnoxious ass by getting up and down as you please. I actually believe this goes over well in a ballpark on the north side of Chicago When I go to a game at any of the other 29 ballparks I'll have fun actually paying attention to the game. lol. Watch the game on TV if you don't want to have any emotions and just want to concentrate on the action. Clearly the fun and enjoyment other people have around you bothers you for some reason.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 12:48 PM) That s*** does drive me nuts. I don't have a problem throwing picks if I do something stupid, but I get annoyed when guys in zone coverage jump 6 feet in the air to grab passes intender for receivers at least 5 yards past them or guys that are behind and outside a receiver on a post suddenly end up in perfect position when the ball is in the air. I've gotten to the point where I can throw one INT most games on 30-40 attempts, but still get abused by the coverage every now and then. My buddy and I had to put our Dynasty on FRESHMAN, just because of the damn linebackers. We win every game like 60-7, but when we played on the higher levels, the linebackers would deflect EVERY DAMN PASS, and we struggled to score more than 1 touchdown a game. Now, mind you we both created players, so 99% of the plays are throws from his QB to my TE, so we aren't mixing in a run game or anything to throw off the D, but the jumping and reactions of those LB's are simply infuriated.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) Maggs, Dye, Frank, Jenks, Teahen....does anyone leave this organization quietly? Maybe I'm wrong, but I think we have had more than 5 player changes over the past 8 years. So yeah, I think SOME of them do leave quietly.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 01:52 AM) Now that's where you draw the line. What a disgusting human being - he's lucky that my kid wasn't there. It could have got real ugly. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 03:12 AM) Agreed. Alex Rios is a horrible baseball player and probably a horrible human being, at least that's what you get the feeling of after watching that video. Ugh. I'm sick of having to defend this video all the time, but it's seriously not what is looks like. It's really unfortunate and unfair that Alex Rios' character is judged on this particular video.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 08:22 PM) Saw a couple movies this weekend... Adjustment Bureau....a big MEH. Could have been better. It's like they thought "oh! we have this cool idea" and then started filming the movie without thinking about how it all fit together. Kinda disappointed actually because the first 45 min or so were great. Yup, exactly. The idea and premise was great. Turning that idea in to a love story? Ehhh, weak. Would have loved if it was a crime, thriller, or about some sort of government cover-up or conspiracy. So many great stories to tell with that idea, and they picked a story about true love. Bahh.

QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 07:15 PM) Sweet no wave anymore.. now all they need are enforcers at every end of the seats to make sure no one is allowed to get up for any reason until the game has completed.. Some of you guys are jokes +1

Too bad Ozzie didn't have the balls to say "Hey Alex, how about you change your stance, or you'll never see the field again? Now get to work." -

Reed has 90 K and 11 BB in like 60 innings this year. Holy mother of peripherals. Get this kid to the majors if you want a NAILS bullpen. Bruney has been good (more like lucky, actually), but s***, this kid is not mowing down everyone he sees.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 08:50 PM) Sounds like they really like this kid. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=502671 And rightly so... Dude has crushed since he got signed. 18 HR in 2009 in 74 games (HR every 15.9 AB) 35 HR in 2010 in 138 games (HR every 15 AB) 30 HR in 2011 in 103 games (HR every 12.2 AB) Guy has increased his HR rates, increased his walk rate by a ton, and cut down his K rate. In about 2 full seasons worth of games, he has 83 HR, 90 doubles, 264 RBI, batting .317 with a 1.026 OPS. GUY IS A MONSTER.
