  1. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 02:57 AM) Hypothetically, how would you stack your lines? Kane/Stamkos/Sharp Bickell/Toews/Hossa Frolik/Bolland/Smith That top line is lethal offensively, but you also have an elite two-way line and a top checking line with offensive talent. Wow.
  2. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:18 AM) We are getting terrible production from our lead off spot. Viceido is not gonna solve that problem unless we put him in Dunn's spot. If we replace Pierre with Viceido, who is gonna lead off for us? Alexei? Lillibridge? Rios? We can just easily swap Pierre with Milledge and try to address the lead off spot issue. I like Viceido, but we can't put him in LF unless we can find a passable lead off option from another position. Also, I am not completely sure on this, but Milledge's defense in any of the outfield spots has got to be better than what Viceido has to offer. So you are saying a leadoff hitter is more important than a 3-4-5 type guy on an offense that has tons of trouble scoring runs in the American League? That's like not wanting to move your 7th inning pitcher to be the new closer because then you have to figure out how to fill the 7th inning pitcher spot. WHO CARES? It's not as important.
  3. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 02:00 AM) Keenyn_Walker Keenyn Walker Ya buddy! Finally becoming a part of the Chicago White Sox family!! #Bossin 2 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply Most excellent.
  4. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 11:46 AM) We have a piece for Montero from the Yankees, his name is John Danks. Danks for Montero + Gardner ? I would s*** my pants if that happened, but that will never happen. Yankees wouldn't even trade Montero for Danks straight up, either.
  5. QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 12:12 AM) Beat me to it MM, here is link: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/news/ar...;vkey=news_milb Why Kenny, why?? As i've said before, I was/am more disappointed about Holmberg being in that deal that I was about Hudson.
  6. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 11:09 PM) He's a question: Can you trade someone's rights to another team? And then re-sign him after the exclusive negotiating period is over? If legal, that would look real douchey right? I don't know. I asked earlier but never got an answer.

  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 11:37 PM) I'm not a Lillibridge guy, but he never has struck me as a guy with an effort problem. I will blame this on lack of experience and taking something for granted. Its still bad, and apparently typical for this team. I am dying to see if Ozzie really pulled Rios for lack of effort. I think that was definitely an isolated incident for The Bridge. I've always noticed he was one of the few guys who always hustled and gave it his all. I think he just took the runner for granted and got lazy.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 11:29 PM) Can someone explain what happened to out of towners? Bloop single to CF. Lillibridge basically stopped running once he realized the ball would fall, then picked the ball up with 1 hand, took a couple steps, then realized the runner is being sent home, throws the ball 4-5 feet offline, and the runner scores. Lazy, lazy, lazy baseball today.
  10. Wow guys, cool. Bloop single to CF and he scored from 1st? Lillibridge fell asleep there....
  11. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 11:21 PM) tulo rocking the bebe on the way to the plate What's bebe?
  12. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 07:44 PM) Can someone just please give me the date that Viciedo can be called up to give us another year of control? It's the only thing I am focused on right now. .......
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 08:43 PM) Tied with Morel with one walk Brent says to suck on Ball 4.
  14. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 08:13 PM) The humidor didn't come about til 2002, which allowed Helton to have some ridiculous years at the beginning of his career. The dropoff once the humidor was installed was quite noticeable (he never hit more than 33 homeruns in a season again, and he only even reached 30 four times after that). Also, his home-away splits are telling. For his career, he's hit .354 at Coors, .292 away from it. I think that's gonna impact his chances tremendously. Not to mention, his power has completely disappeared the last seven years or so. I'm not disagreeing that Helton is better in Coors, but I don't think it's all because of the park, maybe he just likes hitting as the home team in front of his fans. I mean, in Thome's 2002 monster season, he hit .100 pts higher at Jacobs Field than Away. I don't think that necessarily had to do w/ Jacobs field being some sort of bandbox.
  15. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) Man, Hawk has the lowest HOF standards of anyone. You're nuts if you don't think Todd Helton is a HOFer? The guy's played his entire career in Coors Field and only has 342 homeruns. His 162 game average is .323-28-103. I could understand arguments to put him in the Hall, but the idea that you're losing your mind if you argue against it is absurd... That's quite outstanding. And the Coors Effect isn't nearly as big as some people think. That park is massive, and they put the balls in a humidor. It's pretty much in the norm now.
  16. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 07:48 PM) Not chance, stretch pants. Maybe 16 Ks in his last 30 AB or so. Actually, make that 16K in his last 25 AB, and 7 K in his last 7 AB. lol
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 07:46 PM) Is it true Dunn has k'd in 16 of his last 19 ABs? Oh, and seeing an 8-9-1-2 coming up tonight = bathroom time for us No chance, stretch pants. Maybe 16 Ks in his last 30 AB or so.
  18. Can someone just please give me the date that Viciedo can be called up to give us another year of control? It's the only thing I am focused on right now.
  19. So why has Oester been promoted twice already this year? Hit .105 in low-A, and hit .252 in High-A......and he strikes out a ton.
  20. Oester is 1/2 with a 2B in his AA-debut.
  21. Kevan Smith is 2/2. C. Kuhn is 1/1 with 2 RBI. Already 9 RBI on the very young season.
