2011 Minor League Catch-All Thread
Just asked Kevin Goldstein if he thinks Addison Reed is legit, and he said "VERY legit", then I asked if there is a chance the Sox make him a reliever again, and he said "Was meant to relieve". Kind of disappointing that he is just seen as a reliever, but love that he is dominating.

Bartolo Colon now to the DL. I'd have to imagine they are blowing up Kenny's phone. I wonder what kind of offers he may get, and for whom.

2011 Minor League Catch-All Thread
Anyone think the Sox are looking at Addison Reed has the Chris Sale of 2012? Like maybe they plan to return Sale to a starting role next season, and hope they can get Reed to fulfill the bullpen role that Sale currently holds? Reed isn't a lefty, but he is dominating every level he has been to since he signed, is moving up the levels quickly, and was formerly a starter. He seems to go 2-3 innings each outing. Or do the Sox purely see him as a future reliever who can go multiple innings? Because I'd really like to see Reed starting at some point.

QUOTE (OilCan @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 10:44 PM) What good is Andrew Garcia doing at AAA that the White Sox can't promote Kuhn to play 2b??? Or what good is Gookie Dawkins @ 3b?? Kuhn can play both positions. I can see Kuhn and Marrero getting promoted to AAA, hopefully soon. Kuhn actually played SS tonight, but he shouldn't push Escobar out of the way. Should definitely be playing 2B every day in Charlotte very soon.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 09:51 PM) Jenks in his prime was AWESOME! and you can't deny that!!! The bullpen arguably has been way worse than it was with Bobby last year BTW. Had a crazy dream like 2 nights ago that the Sox traded for Jenks.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) Not last night. Ugh. No, but if you are talking about any of our bullpen guys who has all their "stuff" working, then Santos is definitely going to scare a lot of teams. Maybe Thornton too.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) Kind of like Linebrink in 2008. Seems like he must have given up 3-4-5 homers that year in tie ballgames late. I didn't even finish the rest of the post before I vomited on a my keyboard.

QUOTE (Yoda @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) Can I admit and say that not one guy in our bullpen really has the "stuff" to make the other team think "we're screwed"? Santos does.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) Why are we offering him anything? He's still under our control for at least 3 more years, right? (Laughs at the idea a couple of years ago we'd be mentioning Lillibridge and actually desiring to control his future rights). KW, that JAVY deal was STEALTH GENIUS. Lillibridge was the centerpiece, we just didn't know it at the time. You are right, I forgot, but my point was basically to calm down and not make an rash decisions.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 08:51 PM) We need to sign Lillibridge to a long term deal soon...his value keeps going up every day. Put a contract in front of him....8 years $40 million and let's see if he bites. Lol, pull the reigns back there a little. I'd offer him 2 years/$8M maybe.

QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) Indians lost today again, it makes even more frustrating Why? It should make it more tolerable to know that you f***ed up a win, and you didn't lose any ground. It's better than the Indians winning and us falling behind even further because of a meltdown.

Love those reactions by Brent. I have such a good feeling when I see a ball ripped down the 3B line.

It was awfully nice of us to give them 2 easy double play chances in 1 inning.
