Wilkins will be starting the 2011 season in Winston-Salem after putting together a very nice 53 games at Great Falls.
He had a .307/.396/.463/.859 slash line with 6 HR, 40 RBI, 14 2B, 7 SB, 31 K, and 33 BB in 53 games. 12% K rate is very good for a power hitter, and his 7 SB in 9 attempts is nice. I love that he can get on base at a good clip as well. I assume Wilkins will progress nicely through Winston-Salem as well, and make it to AA-Birmingham before the year ends, where he will really show us what he is made of. If Wilkins can show progression into AA as well, he might find himself on some top10 lists for the Sox, and give the Sox the really only good looking 1B prospect in our system (if Viciedo sticks it in the OF) since Brandon Allen.
