  1. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 10:02 AM) People still use Juno? Wow, reminds of 7th grade Yeah, blame my dad. I've had that email since I was in 3rd grade, and it does everything I need, so no reason to switch yet.
  2. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 02:04 AM) 1. Twitter 2. Soxtalk 3. Chicago Tribune - Sports 4. Gmail 5. Volquest.com (UT Rivals site) 6. GoVolsXtra.com 7. YouTube 8. Steepandcheap.com I'm proud to say Facebook is not on this list. My first couple years of college it would have, but I probably check it twice/week now. Honestly, the only time I get on Facebook is when I check my email and it says someone tagged me in a photo or wrote on my wall. Lol, yet you have Twitter #1.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 02:05 AM) That was bootyful. I think it was after that performance that I created my "please don't trade Chris Sale" thread. Now it's like, " why the hell did you draft him if he wasn't going to start?" But I digress there. Long as he's on the road to starting this time next year I'm fine. If not, beware of my wrath. If not, people need to be fired. But I also digress. Next Sox/Twins game I go to, I need to bring a "Well Played Sale" sign in the off-chance that Sale faces Mauer late in the game, and K's him.
  4. Welcome to January! lol. Where is this AJ one? I haven't seen it. EDIT: Seriously. I've googled this and looked for it on the Sox website. Can't find it.
  5. What are your top 8 websites on your Chrome browser? I think Firefox might have a top 8 too, if you have Firefox, post your top 8 for that then. Start with the top row, and list them left to right, which are ranked in amount of times you've visited that site. 1) Goallineblitz.com 2) Soxtalk.com 3) Juno.com 4) Google.com 5) OperationSports.com 6) Facebook 7) Brushbackbaseball.com 8) Woot.com
  6. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 08:09 PM) KEEP IT! Pleaaaase? Canwecanwecanwe??? Sure, but only if you promise to say it in your head like Steve Martin's Pink Panther.....
  7. QUOTE (Tex @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) Thankfully they turned a profit last year. I would have been so pissed if they had spent any of that $27Mil on a DH. Imagine of the team would have won their division, only to find out they lost a million or two. How terrible would it be to be a Bo Sox or Mets fan and realize your team lost almost $2mil last year. http://chicago.sbnation.com/chicago-cubs/2...-white-sox-10th BTW, kicked the Cubs ass by $2mil How did we beat the Cubs by $2M? Assuming you are looking at the Operating Income, we made $4.2M more. But I don't believe that column because then it mean the Yankees only made $25M last year? And we made $27M? No way we made more money then them, and how did the Red Sox LOSE money last year? I'm not sure I understand this chart.
  8. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) I know JoeCoolMan is the official Soxtalk nicknamer, but I would like to nominate the nickname "Humble Humber" as the official nickname for Humber. I think Humber will be Humbled by batters a lot in 2011. :-p I appreciate the attempt, albeit pessimistic, but I'm not sure this will work. I haven't quite begun to work on a nickname for Humber yet. Other than Humberger
  9. Milledge is OPSing 1.000 right now. That's sexy. But not as sexy as that .421 OBP. That's uber-sexy.
  10. Milledge w/ a pinch hit BB on about 7 pitches or so. Good AB. I am not sure about Milledge's walk rates, but it seems he has done a good job getting on base this spring.
  11. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) I call BS, everybody knows he doesn't have enough power to hit the ball out of the infield. It was deep to CF too!
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 05:48 PM) I wouldn't wish him or Broadway on the Cubs. Yikes. I wouldn't wish Broadway on anyone who values their face. Kid is a face wrecker.
  13. The Reds acquired right-hander Kyle McCulloch from the White Sox for cash considerations, according to Matt Eddy of Baseball America
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 05:19 PM) You realize that its ST right. The same place where Brian Anderson looked like a god. Lets see what happens when the bell rings. Did you even read his first line...? "If Flowers continues to hit well in AAA". He answered the "let's see what happens when the bell rings"
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 12:31 PM) At least Milledge has talent. Lastings just never got it together. Humber's not all that talented. He's like a better version of Lance Broadway. High pick and overrated by the team that drafted him. lol.
  16. QUOTE (qwerty @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 02:15 AM) In the future i will make sure to make as many posts as possible in which i quote someone... so at the very least you can still see my avatar. Btw, joemancool could come up with a wittier diss than sqwerty. At the very least you could have gotten in a better last jab than something as juvenile as that.
  17. The ignore feature is basically the equivalent of being 6 years old, covering up your ears, and screaming "LA LA LA LA LA LA LA". Personally, I would never ignore anyone (with the button), because frankly I am curious to hear what could be said. But I digress....
  18. On the bright side, Sharp had cooled down and it was the other players stepping up. If this injury happened 2 months ago or so when Sharp was on his tear through the NHL, and the rest of the team sucked, we would be even more screwed.
  19. QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 09:34 PM) I really doubt that happened. It was more likely that Jake just said he felt good and though he could handle it. If they really though it wasn't good for him they wouldn't have let him. I'm sure most of the reason was that he couldn't start the season if he didn't stay on his regular turn. This all turned out to be the wrong decision but that's hindsight. At the time it seemed like he was doing well. I'll try and find the article or quote, but Ozzie literally said prior to the game that he didn't want Peavy starting, but Peavy keep pleading to start, and Ozzie finally gave in.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 10:19 PM) If a crazy, suicidal f*** jumps off the top of the Sears Tower (I will never refer to it as the Willis Tower), I don't have to wait until he/she hits the ground to no that fool is dead. s***ty analogy. But same difference. I know you're an optimist. I have no problem with that. It's a natural tendency to think the team that you cheer for and love can do something with a player(s) that nobody else could. But those that are not drinking the kool-aid just because said player happens to be a White Sox shouldn't be looked upon as evil demons that just like to be negative for the sake of being negative. I've said this many times before. If the Cubs were set to insert Humber into their rotation EVERY single poster on this board, and that includes you SS2K5 and JoeCool, would be laughing their asses off. This is undeniable fact. Now if somehow, someway, Humber pulls a horseshoe out his ass and is even serviceable, great. It won't make me feel stupid for not expecting a thing from him this year. He's done nothing in his career, outside of being a high draft pick sever years ago, that warrants any type of faith. I hope you've included me because I think Humber can be a decent 5th starter, and not because you think I'm a Cubs hater of some sorts, because I'm not. I said it when we signed him, and I still believe it. Humber can be a decent 5th starter while Jake is out. In my opinion, that means an ERA around 5.00 or less. I don't think that's out of reach at all.
  21. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) I love how people are getting pissed at Jake for pitching his last start. It's not like Jake has the final call. Ozzie, Coop and Herm had to give him the go ahead, so if its his last start that aggravated it (when he had the flu) they deserve as much blame as anything. Christ, people hated guys like Javy and Swish for their less than competitive attitude. Yeah, but he kept pushing Ozzie until Ozzie finally gave in. Jake should be blaming himself, while Ozzie was actually right in that he shouldn't let Jake pitch. Sometimes you have to let a player prove why they should listen to the manager.
  22. Jesse Crain to uber-prospect Dustin Ackley - "YOU'LL HAVE NONE! AND LIKE IT!"
  23. Anyone else surprised that Gookie Dawkins wasn't asian?
