  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 10:51 AM) He said on 6 times in a row, lmao. Anyways, I don't think Colvin should be playing everyday, he should be platooning. The guy's not real good against left handed pitching. And to me, he still lacks plate discipline. He chases 38% of balls outside the zone. Once he becomes more and more exposed, he will struggle and the league will adjust. If they value Colvin in any way, then he would be starting in AAA like he should. They had him skip AAA entirely, just to sit on the bench. The sad part is, he is actually producing on the Cubs, and STILL does not get a sufficient amount of ABs.
  2. QUOTE (Tex @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 10:43 PM) Are you suggesting that kids shouldn't be at a hockey party? Doesn't that hurt the future of the franchise? It would seem like building the base from the kids on up would be a great idea. There is a lot worse he could have done, but he did step over the line, maybe not far, but he was over the line. I'm suggesting that you take your kid to a hockey party, and you should expect this sort of behavior. I find it hard to believe any kids were shocked to see Kane with a drink in his hands, when they have seen people will drinks in their hands 40-50 times already that day. You don't take your kid to the beach and complain about him getting a sunburn.
  3. I don't have a problem w/ it at all. It was the highlight of his life, and he is king of the city. He is 21 years old, I wouldn't expect him act like he is 30 years old. And like the above poster said, if you are bringing out kid out to a crowd of 2 million rowdy fans, you can expect he will be seeing some people getting insanely drunk, throwing beers, falls down, throwing up, and doing things much worse. It's not like Kane got drunk at a wedding, or Hawks convention. It was a massive hockey party. Not an issue at all, IMO.
  4. L-L-L-L-L-Lou Pi-Pi-Pi-Pinella's comments http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...s-critique.html Basically, Stoney said that if Colvin is going to be in the majors, he needs to be playing every day, and not being wasted as a bench player (which is something most Cubs fans would agree with, and what us Sox fans were talking about when the decision was made to bring Colvin up). Then Lou came back with the ever illogical "He isn't a coach, he doesn't know anything" response.
  5. Hopefully you guys can check out all my photos from the parade..... http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/ph...p;id=1322456454 I tried to tag as many players as I could recognize.
  6. Awesome parade. It was insanely crowded, and all the people who climbed up on the street cleaner made me laugh.
  7. I used to have a Honda Elite when I was 15, but then sold it when I was 17 and got a car.
  8. I just watched the game. I can't believe in my life I would ever see Brent Lillibridge POSE after hitting a ball. Wow. He crushed it and just right into the trot. Wow.
  9. Send him to Texas for Phillips so my prediction can be right.
  10. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 08:49 PM) Geez, how many of you douches are going to be cheering for him to dominate us? Me. What is one more loss in a terrible season when instead we can watch one of the most dominating pitchers I have ever seen in my life just feast on a pitiful lineup? Plus, it's not like I can't root for our opposing pitcher to dominate, and then we win in the 8th and 9th inning when Strasburg is removed after 90 some pitches and 15 K's.
  11. It's not Ozzie's fault that this team sucks. Did anyone expect this team to contend? It's full of a lot of sorry ass players, and the ones who are good are not living up to it (save a few guys obviously). If Ozzie made 100% of the correct moves this year, is this team still anywhere near .500? Probably not. You can only play w/ the cards you are dealt. Ozzie was dealt a 2-7 off-suit.
  12. 72 IP, 18 BB, 87 K. That comes out to a 2.25 BB/9, and a 10.9 K/9. That's a 4.83 K/BB. Very, very good peripherals.
  13. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) ha, so did I Me too.
  14. So we have yet to take a catcher or an OF yet? That's amazing.
  15. I am also looking for Adam Norton to get drafted too.
  16. I wonder if one of my buddies from school will get drafted. Steve Styck and Eric Meyerchick. Both RHP. Styck throws about 88-89 MPH, but submarine style. Meyerchick throws about 91-92, and can touch 94.
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 02:09 PM) He? Yeah, his wife could be like 25.
  18. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) Son or grandson? Good point, I didn't think about that. He must have been like 40 when he pumped that kid out! Haha.
  19. Tigers taking Patrick Leyland, Jim's son. We should have scooped him up!
  20. 3B Rangel Ravelo is who the Sox just took. Straight out of High School in Florida.
  21. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 06:15 PM) What did AJ say exactly? "Obviously, if the White Sox aren't where we want to be and a team has a chance for the playoffs and to win the World Series and they come and say, 'Hey, we need a catcher,' it would be hard to say no to that"
