  1. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 01:53 PM) Not happening. Beckham will be fine. I used to say things like this, and now I don't know. What happened to him? This may deserve its own thread discussion.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) Sure if you mean 63 wins for an entire season... If I knew the Sox were taking a step back for a year or two for the greater purpose of having a consistent farm system and ability to produce their own players for 2014-2020, I'd be ok with a 99-loss season. Nothing is worse than a mediocre to bad veteran team, and that's what we've been given the last few years. Enough is enough.
  3. Cooper was asked this morning if Santiago and Lindsay would be coming up in September, and he didn't commit but he did mention Addison Reed as a possibility, so I would assume there's a real good chance he's getting added to the 40-man next week.
  4. I wish him well playing out the string for five weeks for a lot of fans that booed him for years like they scum they are.
  5. Can't understand why Thome wants to play out the string in Cleveland, but whatever.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) Based on what exactly? I'd love to hear this Just his overall persona. That good ole boy, hillbilly s*** just doesn't rub me the right way.
  7. I've always felt Peavy has hated playing for the Sox, and really I can't blame him now. He's a douche, but this organization sucks right now. So I hope he finishes strong next year or gets traded mid-season, and smell ya later.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 11:58 AM) Can we now change the thread title that the Sox did not claim Thome??? Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal Sources: #Indians awarded claim on Thome, #WhiteSox awarded claim on Kubel. Thome has no-trade clause; preference is #Phillies. I would be shocked if Thome approved a trade to Cleveland. Kubel? Now? Why? Don't do it.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 07:47 PM) Kubel is a guy I think the White Sox could use, but finding a spot for him and a contract for him after this year could be tough. Use how? Do people really think the Sox are still in it?
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 04:41 PM) Songwriter Nick Ashford of Ashford and Simpson died yesterday. And now he's solid....solid as a rock. Sorry.
  11. He should stay in Minnesota or let him sign with Philly. Sox? Indians? Give me a f***ing break.
  12. Indians under .500 for the first time since they were 1-2. 162 will tell you who you are.
  13. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 01:28 PM) DKnobler DKnobler by ESPNChiSox Also on waiver wire today: Danks, Floyd, Konerko, Thornton of White Sox. With Chicago 6 1/2 out, would Kenny trade anyone? With that list, they're trying to move Thornton if they can get a good deal.
  14. Kenny, stop yourself, and start drafting your resignation letter please.
  15. If Thome has a no-trade clause, he should deny a trade to the Sox. Absolutley no good reason to come to this team.
  16. Indians are getting spanked. Today could end with the Tigers as the only team in the division with a winning record.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) John Danks is what he is... a near-4 era pitcher. He is probably the most over-valued guy on Soxtalk. Pretty much. He's got a lot going for him that will make him a lot of money, but I don't think he's got another gear that will suddenly turn him into an ace. The Sox should most certainly take offers on him this winter.

    2011 TV Thread

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 11:42 AM) I thought Breaking Bad was pretty damn great this week. It's been good, but I think the show was at its best when Walt and Jesse had more scenes together, and Walt was a sympathetic character. Obviously as time goes on, Walt is morphing into a badass, and that's part of the character development, but I think the show has lost something because of it. Hopefully they can finish this season on a high note, and go out in style next year.
  19. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/818646-...r-greatest-hits It's "dadgummit", you idiot.
  20. Marlins DFA Dewayne Wise. Let's get the band back together!
  21. Watch the Sox give Tyler Kuhn to the Twins, and he kicks our ass for the next 5 years.
  22. QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 10:00 AM) He wouldnt even get that far in the waiver process. There's a sneaky way of the Twins releasing him, and letting him sign as a free agent, but it's up in the air if MLB will allow it. Either way, the Sox have no business making trades at this point. It's over.
  23. God, just let the man go to Philadelphia and let him try to win a championship to finish his career. I would feel sorry for him if he had to come back here. Kenny--don't do it.
