  1. Kinney's got that valuable World Series experience that we're going to need later on.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 02:10 PM) Is there any chance this is the 7-day Concussion DL? The injury is for "facial contusion". I thought the same thing, but they probably need a true concussion diagnosis to use the 7-day.
  3. Guess they're taking more precautions, or he's got a dead arm period anyway.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 12:37 PM) I will start this post by pointing out I think Kenny Williams needs to go, and I find Rick Hahn an easy to like and smart baseball man who COULD have a bright future ahead of him as a GM. But, I think the love Rick Hahn gets and the love Rick Hahn deserves are not even close to being equal, and we should not rush into hiring him just because some people are afraid the Cubs might. That's fair, but for fans like us, you can only go by what people in the industry say about him---which is he's ready. All I know is Kenny has to go, and there's a respected assistant GM right under him that wants the job.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 12:09 PM) scottmerkin Scott Merkin Hendry: "I don't think there's a finer owner in professional sports than Jerry (Reinsdorf)." White Sox have much respect for Hendry also ~ Somebody asked Kerry Wood what Hendry's legacy in Chicago will be. Wood said he didn't know, because it may not be over in Chicago...."there's another team in town". Could you imagine if the Sox ended up with Hendry and La Russa next season? Worst case scenario.
  6. So with Hendry gone, the Sox better make a decision. In my opinion, Kenny has had a few bad years, and it's Hahn's time to show what he can do. I just hope it's with the Sox and not the Cubs.
  7. Jim Hendry is out as GM.
  8. G-F no-hitter story... http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/news/ar...;vkey=news_milb

Ranger talking about Beckham having to work on his swing in the offseason....can't do it now. So that's Dunn, Rios, and Beckham that have offseason projects. This team is a joke from top to bottom.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 04:22 PM) I'm a little worried about every series the rest of the way. 12 left. It's almost over, folks.

Great Falls going for a no-hitter in the 9th.
  13. A rubber game at home against a team in front of you, and lose to fall back under .500? That's another nail in the coffin.
  14. So who wins the division, Tigers or Indians? Tigers 65-58: Chi 3-3-6 Cle 6-3-9 KC 4-2-6 Min 3-3-6 Bal 4-0-4 TB 0-4-4 Oak 0-4-4 20-19-39 Indians 62-58: Chi 4-4-8 Det 3-6-9 KC 3-3-6 Min 4-3-7 Oak 4-0-4 Sea 5-0-5 Tex 0-3-3 23-19-42
  15. This is the first time in months I've watched a whole Sox game. Man, Hawk sucks.

Snodgress...whoa He's out after 6 perfect and 9 k's. Looks like the ball never got out of the infield either.
  17. Anyone else feel like there's no freaking way we're winning tonight? Under .500, here we come!
  18. Pretty safe to say this is the biggest game of the year so far.
  19. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 08:39 PM) Wow, Verlander is over 200 innings pitched already. Has more than 1 K/9 with a 2.31 ERA and WHIP of 0.88. Pretty freaking impressive. You can be against a pitcher winning an MVP, but an argument can be made that he's it this season. That team is nowhere without him.
  20. Big game tomorrow.

28-14, including 4-2 vs the Tigers and 7-4 vs the Indians. Sox do that, playoffs. If not, going to need a lot of help.
  22. Yeah, that's ridiculous. Set up a fund for the family, and move on. It was his own fault he died in a freak accident. If he were a single, non-firefighter, there's no way they're doing this.
  23. Was there for this one... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/media/play...b_tp350&v=2 And this one... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/video/play...91&c_id=cws Sox win 1-0 in both games.
  24. Big Jim! Too bad that exclusive club has Arod, Bonds and Sosa there to taint it. Mike and Mike will talk about it tomorrow, and of course it will be all about Mark Schlereth's son giving it up.
  25. Tyler Kuhn and Josh Phegley back to Birmingham. Don't get it. Especially Kuhn.
