  1. Hamilton’s agent filing a grievance too?
  2. I mentioned this the other day, but it's true...years ago, if you saw a 21-yr-old prospect killing it at AAA, you'd be happy, but you'd say, "That guy is going to be awesome next year when he gets called up". You wouldn't necessarily be demanding his call up for your entertainment for a month. So part of the problem is just social media and being exposed to his daily performance. And yes, the White Sox themselves add to that hype, but they're not doing anything that bad here.
  3. I'm going to trust that they've weighed all of this into a decision that makes the most sense for the window of winning they're trying to attain....which is 2021-2025. If he wants to sign before then, great.
  4. Ok, file then. I'm sure the Sox have tried to lock him up to a deal that would put him in LF tonight. If he wants to sign and get the money, I'm all for it. Until then, it's just a smart business move that takes in consideration what the Player's Association collectively bargained.
  5. A 21-yr-old that hasn't played a full season in AAA. I don't care how good he is, the Sox don't have to feel bad about anything. The MLBPA is to blame, as they collectively bargain this stuff.

Ha, it definitely helps doing a re-watch before the new season starts. Lodge 49 anyone? I like it.
  7. From 4th to 6th today. Playing good ball though.
  8. Draft order through 132 games (after Game 132): Orioles 38-94 (1-0) Royals 41-91 Padres 50-82 (1-1) White Sox 52-80 Tigers 53-79 Marlins 53-79 (0-1) Reds 57-75 Mets 58-74 Rangers 58-74 (0-1) Blue Jays 60-72

Because you need the spring training schedule on August 29th... https://mobile.twitter.com/whitesox/status/1034837523321815040 Glad they aren’t traveling to an affiliate before opening day.
  10. Unless he wants to leave on his own, I’m expecting Renteria to finish out three years and then Vizquel takes over after a year in Birmingham. Just a guess. But... Shildt got the Cardinals job, so Girardi has one less potential spot, so if the Sox want him and he’s interested, you never know.
  11. It’s just math. I suppose they may throw him in the pen at first, but three off days in the first nine days.
  12. Nitpicking, but since they won’t need a 5th starter until 4-10, Stephens won’t make the OD roster. I hope they cut ties with Castillo sooner than later.
  13. I don’t think he was that bad. May have been on his own.
  14. 6 at best. 8 at worst. Stuff happens.
  15. Mercy. What a non-season for him. Might as well be Jake Burger.
  16. Avi played CF in an all star game. Not ideal, but...
  17. It’s at least time for local media to stop calling him Navarez. Still hear it all the time.
  18. 1-2-3 first inning for Hansen on 8 pitches
  19. Tonight is Eloy's 150th game in the Sox organization. He has 198 hits.
  20. That's one way of looking at it. The Sox front office could find a way to rationalize bringing him up, and I'm sure most fans will eat it up. And in the end, it may work out just fine...but it's a big gamble that I wouldn't make.
  21. If anything, I think the next CBA is going to knock free agency down to 5 years, so the Sox may have him for the "winning years" of 2021, 2022, an 2023 if they bring him up this year. It would be exciting for the fans, but front offices can't think that way, obviously.
  22. If that's a gamble they want to take, go for it. They would have to feel good about locking him up though.
