Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (Username @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 04:09 PM) Insane how loaded our core was at one point with position players. Thomas, Magglio, Konerko, Carlos Lee, Ray Durham, Valentine...how was that team not better??? Because the rest of baseball was juiced too.

2017 Hall of Fame
Interesting Manny Ramirez is at 34%, considering he failed tests after testing became a thing. I think he belongs based on being a great hitter--even though he'll probably not get in. My ballot would be: Bagwell, Bonds, Clemens, Guerrero, McGriff, Mussina, Raines, Ramirez, Rodriguez, Schilling Everyone else fall short for me. I could clean this ballot up in one year.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
The whole point of trading McCutchen is to make room for Meadows soon. I just don't think he's in the conversation. The Pirates would move on to other possibilities.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 09:30 AM) A package without a headliner such as Meadows would be rather underwhelming. If they can make a trade on par with what they got for Eaton, I think they make the trade. Giolito's stock fell, but still has huge upside. The other two pitchers are legit prospects. Conforto's stock has fallen, but he's still talented. If they can get him and a few other good prospects, I think it's a good deal. The Pirates get their innings eating starter. The Mets get their CF.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 09:25 AM) Would much rather have Meadows than Conforto. I agree, but honestly, I think the Pirates aren't moving Meadows under any circumstance.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 09:18 AM) Hypothetical 3 way trade suggestion: Pirates get Q Mets get McCutchen Sox get Conforto, Newman, Dunn, Keller I kinda like that! No idea if it's fair for everyone, but it looks good.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
Only for Chuck Garfien, I hope they get Kevin Newman. He was born the day Robin Ventura charged Nolan Ryan. 8/4/93

Ryan Howard (no news weekend, so why not?)
At the Eaton press conference, Hahn was asked who the current outfield is...he said Melky, Tilson, and Avi, but things can change.

What if the Sox go 20-10 in April and amaze us?
After the first week, the Sox play 44 of 66 games on the road. Good luck with that hot start.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
Low-key Quintana should be traded on a Saturday, where it would be ignored by the media. It would be fitting if it happened today. The Astros and White Sox need each other, in my opinion.

Matt Purke dfa'd
Probably could sign back on a minor league deal. Arms are arms. Especially lefty.

White Sox sign Derek Holland
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) Is this signing official yet? I don't have any issue with adding him. He's not that old and it's probably a short term and cheap contract. Worst case scenario is he's a Shields or Danks clone and gets the Sox closer to the #1 pick. Best case is that Coop helps him out and the Sox get another prospect out of it. We'll see. Not official yet. Don't even know if this is a minor league deal. If it's a major league deal, they would have to clear a spot for him. This time of year, it sometimes gets delayed officially for weeks.

Could you root for Sox losses
When they trade Quintana, Frazier, Robertson, etc., the win total will take care of itself the next couple years. I'm rooting for the guys they plan on having on winning teams in 2019-2023.

Sox a finalist for Derek Holland
Looks like a done deal. Build up the value and trade him. Best case scenario.

White Sox looking to deal Robertson
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 05:43 PM) Why? There is literally no good reason to just trade him. Get a good return that you like, or hold onto him and see if he regained some value in the first few months of the season. They could do that, but with the money he's owed and the team the Sox are going to field, I just feel like now is the time to move him to a contending team that's going to want bullpen arms going into the season. We'll see.

White Sox looking to deal Robertson
QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 05:21 PM) Match? For Robertson it can't be that tough to find an intriguing prospect or two. We're not talking about a Q deal here. That's what I think too. For him, lower the expectations, but just make a deal.

White Sox looking to deal Robertson
QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 10:57 AM) I think that's such a huge "if". Teams were absolutely crushing Robertson's fastball this year. I don't know if it was just that he was tired on back to back games, or if he's regressing. I would probably dump him now rather than risk it. Agreed. If there's anyone who is most likely to get traded before Christmas, it's Robertson.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
I just like the idea of getting a positional player that could potentially play 150+ games and be awesome for a pitcher that can only do so much with the 33 games he's given. Quintana is very good, and there's no reason to think he won't continue to have very good seasons, but ya know, Greg Hibbard, Mike Sirotka, and John Danks all had a few good seasons too. Don't get me wrong, Quintana may be more of a Buehrle type than those other guys, but stuff happens. Give me the bat.
