QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 11:14 AM) Glad to see Rios get the day off. I'm not, he owns Penny. Ozzie sucks.

Why not? The official "Alex Rios Sucks" Thread

The Rios comeback starts today: 3 for 4 with two extra base hits. -
Just a quick question: Could this have waited until an interleague series?

QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 26, 2011 -> 02:49 PM) I use it through my AppleTV, which I have connected to my TV in the basement. Upstairs, I have my Mac, and it wirelessly streams anything on it's iTunes to that TV/surround system downstairs. I can also play anything off of my iPhone or iPad2 to that TV, too. It just streams over my houses wireless N network. My entire house is Wireless for Internet/streaming, including my Xbox360, my printer, etc. AppleTV's cost 99$ and hook into your current tv/speaker system. There are also many other wireless speaker systems available that work much the same way. Here is a bit more information with some cheaper alternatives than what you listed above. http://airplayspeakers.com/airplay-speaker...d-alternatives/ Thanks so much for the reply. I really don't want to have to have a seperate large receiver in every room that I have the speakers. Does that Denon work wirelessly throughout the whole house? IE can I just have the one receiver and run twelve speakers throughout the house off that one receiver and be able to easily choose which speakers via my ipad or iphone are playing what music? I can't tell for sure. The way it is advertised is to be like Sonos where you just have speakers hardwired anywhere and they will just play independently if you want.... but as far as I can tell the Zep speaker is the only one that works this way.

Anyone utilize Apple Airplay yet? I was about a day away from pulling the trigger on setting up my house for "whole house music" (since my house is a cape cod without an attic it was going to be like $8k with a bunch of that in labor) when Gizmodo posted this article: http://gizmodo.com/5696379/how-apples-airp...hange-your-life So, I decided to wait Airplay out, and now six months later the only speakers that are available (as far as I can tell) is this Zeppelin thing ( http://store.apple.com/us/product/TS319ZM/A ) that is expensive, and my wife isn't thrilled about having in every room of our house (imagine that in the bathroom). All I want is simple speakers (in wall would be awesome), and they still don't appear to be on the market. Am I missing something?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) Im sorry, I missed in your original post where you made any speculation, talked about latest news, or brought in any info on the Chicago White Sox. oh wait, you didnt. Please unbunch your panties and continue your Ludwick discussion here. Sorry that I didn't throw out a hypothetical trade including the only two minor league players I have heard of (like most would do here): "Do you guys think that a package including Jordan Danks and Chase Blackwood net us Ludwick"???? LOL

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:51 PM) And in reference to your idea that a move to U.S. Cellular would be an answer to his woes, we've thought that about several players. It just doesn't seem to work that way. In fact, most players come here and are somehow worse. They might hit for more power, but their other stats usually suffer. This board just seems to think Viciedo is the answer in LF, and I have always felt (even last year when he somehow managed to play good defense) that Pierre was a horrible fit for THIS team. While the book is still out on how Dayan can defend in the outfield, I am pretty confident that at best it will be an adventure. And poor defense drives me bananas. I remember being surprised how much the defensive metrics liked Ludwick last off-season, so I went and checked up on him... and POOF he is off to another great defensive season. He is hitting .280 out of Petco and won't cost the Sox much in return. I can't imagine a better "attainable" fit for this current lineup.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:41 PM) when tradewinds opens up, you can wax poetic about players that the Sox will not acquire in there. This is just idle speculation by you about a player that has no rumor or possible trade connection to the Sox. This is where it belongs Sorry, I thought Pale Hose Talk was open for "Also get the latest news, speculation, and all of the info you can use on the Chicago White Sox". Next time I will take my actual baseball talk elsewhere, and keep my "The Ghost of....", "f*** this mother....", "WCIU games are now available in space", and "Groundskeeper talk" posts for this site.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:22 PM) Ludwick is going to the Diamond Club Why? So no one can see a post discussing acquiring a player that would fit this team nicely?

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:29 PM) We don't need another guy who needs to fix himself offensively. About 8/9th of our starting lineup on any given night already has that problem. The fix is a move to Us Cellular. He is fine away from Petco.
-
-Ludwick is struggling offensively -Ludwick plays for the Padres who are 20-30 -Ludwick is a good defensive outfielder, and very good when compared to only power hitting outfielders -Ludwick makes 6 million bucks this year and is unrestricted in 2012, so as time passes, if he continues to struggle I can't imagine he would cost the acquiring team much more than whatever money is still due to him -Ludwick had only one really good year and two decent seasons -Ludwick plays half of his games in Petco, so a move to a hitter friendly park may just be the spark he needs -Ludwick has never been a huge OBP guy, so and despite the fact that this is a negative attribute, posters here seem to prefer guys who "go down swingin" to the Swisher/Dunn high OBP types that "just stood there and watched strike three"

My take on the Brandon Allen trade: KW had/has a relationship with Byrnes/Dbacks. -
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 22, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) Quentin is out because of a bruised knee. Gracious.

Just had to get on here to say that Ozzie flat out sucks. The wind is absolutely blowing out here and he has Pierre and Vizquel in the lineup. A missed opportunity to get Carlos or Brent some confidence, and oh yea a missed opportunity to have your best chance to win the damn game.

I am originally from the southwest burbs but haven't been back since college. I am thinking of moving to Channahon.... anyone live there? Nice place to raise a family?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 3, 2011 -> 03:52 PM) $200 is a lot of money. I won't make the obvious: "how can you have time to make thousands of posts to an internet board about the white sox, but not have $200 to watch the games" comment.
-
How can people have thousands of posts on here, live out of town and NOT have Extra Innings? I have it so I can watch most of the blackedout WCIU games on 1/8th of the sportsmix screen.

QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 01:41 PM) Explain? Just because you don't need speed to score on a homer? You are on the right track. What is the point of Beckham sacrificing or cutting down on his swing to get Juan from first to second or second to third with Dunn coming up? So, Juan leads off with a bunt single, steals second and Beckham gets him to third... why? Against any righty Dunn gets intentionally walked; Against a lefty you have risked Juan's leadoff hit/stealing 2nd/taking the bat out of Beckhams hand for about a 10% chance that Dunn's atbat ends with a sacrifice fly instead of an extra base hit/strikeout/other out. There is no point of playing "small ball" in front of Dunn batting third. Another problem is you have Rios following Dunn and Konerko, which will dramatically cut down on his ability to use his speed on offense. When your team is anchored by Dunn, Konerko, Quentin; Juan Pierre doesn't make a lick of sense offensively. If you must play Juan, why not have our first three play a little baseball ahead of the three "power walkers"?
-
To me it makes no sense to leadoff Pierre, if Dunn is hitting third. I personally would solve this by finding a new LF, but since that isn't going to happen.... this would be my lineup: Pierre Beckham Rios Dunn Konerko Quentin Pierzynski Ramirez Morel

FYI: As a former athlete I would put the percentage of players who used PEDs at 99%. The only question is who used what.
