Jake, Jake, Jake....... Enough said. Jake Peavy looked great for 3-2/3, then he imploded. He had a no hitter, thru 3-2/3. Then he gave up a 2 out base hit to Michael Young. A double to Nelson Cruz followed. Next, Jake gave up a walk and then a game changing 3 run homer to Mitch Moreland. Suddenly a 3-0 White Sox lead, became a 4-3 Texas lead. On the night, he gave up 3 homers (2 homers to Moreland) and 7 runs in 6 IP. The Rangers were able to score 7, on Jake, w just 6 hits.....thanks to the home runs. Final Score: Texas 7, White Sox 4. Ouch. Jake has the highest ERA of any White Sox starter. We've heard the excuses, he's coming off INJURY. His arm strength isn't up to par. But, if you go back and view his season log, his best performances were in May, right after he came back, from INJURY. He did have ONE, stellar, 8 inning, outing vs. the Twins, on Aug 7th. But, for the most part, since June, his starts have been 6 innings or less. Jake Peavy, Alex Rios and Adam Dunn........3 big contracts................3 big UNDERperformors. Could the 3 underperformers, be the big reason why the White Sox can only play .500 baseball???.......it SURE LOOKS THAT WAY!

8/18 Game Thread: Indians @ White Sox, 7:10pm CT
whtsoxfan replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in 2011 Season in Review
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 12:25 PM) I watched on & off last night, so I must have missed those. Good to hear, hope he can look OK tonight. #WhiteSox' Dunn batting .313 (10 for 32) against the #Indians this season and .149 (47 for 316) against every other team With Dunn this year, stats don't mean crap. E.g.,one of the parks he has done the best or close to the best hitting is/was Wrigley. He was in the lineup in the NL games this year. How'd he do ? -

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)
whtsoxfan replied to macsandz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The White Sox are in serious talks for a deal that would send starter Edwin Jackson and third baseman Mark Teahen to the Blue Jays for reliever Jason Frasor and a prospect, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The rumor was first reported ten hours ago on Twitter by a fellow named Doug Seyller. Sox pitchers John Danks and Gavin Floyd are also on the market, according to Rosenthal http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/toronto_blue_jays/index.html -

The official "end of Ozzie soon?" thread
whtsoxfan replied to whitesoxbrian's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 04:15 PM) Hope it's true that Ozzie's gone soon, but Kenny deserves it more than anyone. I'd be willing to gift wrap Rios for the Marlins. Oz aint perfect.....but there's plenty of dead weight, non aggressive, lightwts on this team.....starting w Alex Rios or Mark Teahen. Who's decision was it spend big $ to sign, Rios, Teahen, Dunn, Peavy? -
F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT

QUOTE (Yoda @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:32 PM) The Nationals are pretty much giving this one away. Even if AJ hits it on the ground you have Rios whose an above average runner capable of breaking up a DP. It would take one of those "AJ pop-ups" to really kill this rally. Nationals trying to give the game away, but yet we are still playing.. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) Pitching in the eighth inning of a 0-0 ballgame shouldn't be Bruneys job unless the bullpen is totally gassed. My name is Ozzie and boy do I have a knack for bringing in the wrong guy. Ozzie, you idiot, you just brought in Brian Bruney at the crucial point in this game. How is that ok? Seriously? -

I appreciate all he did for us but right now I'm very very disappointed in Harold Baines for not sticking up for Paul Konerko. Konerko one of the classiest guys in the sport who never argue, had a legitimate beef and was hot, but Harold ..no where to be seen. Harold Baines have no business coaching 1B period.. -
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 11:44 PM) Watch the Sox get to .500 exactly at the half, record 41-41. (I realize 162 games) They're now TIED in the loss column and all the twinkies need is 1 "WIN" to be ahead of us. All I'm saying is they are our biggest concern in the division...

Kenny and Ozzie playing Hot Potato.... “I don’t mind having Viciedo here–at all. My problem is, where am I going to play him? He’s got to play every day. If they want to bring Viciedo up, I got the pen ready to put it down.” http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/06/21/ken...lay-hot-potato/

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 11:47 PM) This story isn't going to play well on soxtalk. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/cowley/6074...-just-bolt.html Save your time. Comments coming: -- Fire him now. -- Let the big mouth go. -- How much more can Jerry take from this guy? -- I'm sick of Ozzie and his kids. Florida just take him now!! You can have him!! Key the reaction in three, two, one ... Boom sox fans go get Ozzie. “F--- loyalty,’’ Guillen said. “Like Juan Uribe says, ‘Twenty-one million is more than $20 million.’ ’’ That’s right. He quoted former Sox infielder/class clown Juan Uribe. -

All In The Twins Ass; 5/4/2011 Gamethread
whtsoxfan replied to Quin's topic in 2011 Season in Review
I went to Saturday's game and that was an ugly game. Hardly any hitting, and what in the hell happened in the 8th?! They aren't a team that is going to the postseason, as predicted. I know last year they started slow, and I joked about how one guy was hitting above .200, it seemed, around this point in the year, no less, but they turned it on to be in contention in September. The way they are playing, though, they will be mathematically eliminated by mid-August. And no-hit despite 6 walks?! I saw them get no-hit against the Yankees in 1990 at the old ballpark, and they won. For a predicted league-best starting rotation, and hitting lineup, they have shown that not even the prediction of a Boston WS win is as far from the realm of possibilities as simply a .500 season is for the Pale Hose, and I do mean pale- like no signs of life. -
Anyone see this guy? http://captainvancanuck.com/ Maybe his tights got caught up his butt. Oh, and the retard in Anaheim the other day wearing the same bodysuit of orange and today at the UC in red should really reconsider copying someone else's horrible fashion statements! Dear GOD!
