  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 07:27 PM) Little late to the party. But this is probably my second favorite move of the off-season. Now this is what you call high-risk/high-reward. Not the Phillip Humber's of the world. "this is probably my second favorite move of the off-season" really? behind Konerko... and Dunn... and Alexei... and Danks... and Ohman... and Quentin... and AJ? put me on record as saying I believe Milledge will make the Major League roster, I'm just not sure if it'll happen in time for Opening Day. I believe he could have something to prove (other than being an a$$hat) and do well in the White Sox organization. if not, cya!
  2. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 11, 2011 -> 06:00 PM) No. Make them take Teahen too, and then maybe, but KW will still have to be creative about money. Why would they take Teahen's contract? was he part of the deal as well? Blanton didn't impress me last season and just how old is Ibanez any way? Blanton has no upside IMO and Ibanez is certainly on the downside, while we already know what we have in Carl-Q and the "versatility" Teahen is suppose to provide in the lineup.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 01:04 PM) The Sox should have sured up Matt long ago. Although he's getting up there in age, so IDK. He's a tough situation next year. Cooper has said for the record that he does NOT want to have Sale change mid-season from Starter to Bullpen or vice versa. Sale may be vulnerable to injury because of the mechanics of his delivery. Why increase that chance by making him a starter, ever? http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=6002831 Ohman obviously will not help against Miguel Cabrera ,Magglio Ordonez and switch hitting VMart. Hopefully Crain and Santos and maybe Pena will be enough in terms of RH relievers.

  5. Jenks was right about Ozzie mismanaging the bullpen...he kept giving the ball to Jenks in a save situation, and he'd blow it.

  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) Not even that he was a homer, he was just a god awful announcer. That being said, he was always entertaining and it certainly sounds like he was a great human and that's what matters most. RIP Ron. Good take... Atrocious in the booth, and the stories that are calling his playing career "legendary" are preposterous, but he did a lot good things and raised a ton of $ for the JDRF. Decent human being in a world where a lot of people aren't. RIP.
  8. That was one of the biggest meltdowns by a pen I can remember! Certainly in a World Series. Wow! Gotta hand it to those Giants....they're doing it with a lineup of throw-away players (Burrell, Renteiria,Rowand, Uribe??) They have some great m...ojo and chemistry going on there. Never would have guessed or predicted it.
  9. Two questions... 1. How will Sox fans respond to #23 in a Sox uniform? 2. With the knucklehead sports reporters in this town undoubtably annointing Sandberg "The Heir Apparent" how will this affect the already volitale relationship between Ozzie and KW? How would it affect the potential relationship between Ozzie and Sandberg?
  10. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Oct 23, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) OK, I can bring myself to post here. That was pretty cool. (Uribe's HR) Seem like he's money in big games. He made the last play for us to win the world series. What ever happened to the great Aaron Rowand?? Why is he not playing??
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 01:00 PM) http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/201...tml?xid=si_mlb in fact here's the link to the article most of us think was ridiculous... it is now a 404 unavailable error http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=5503956 The White Sox were awarded the claim ,White Sox now have until Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. to complete a trade.
  12. Confirmed: Harrell & Threets called up http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 09:14 AM) The optimism police is here! Sometimes, when you believe the impossible ; the incredible comes true ! Go the distance Don't stop Now Boys! http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=sHTsQ...;vq=medium#t=16
  14. Let's mark tonite as a turning point in this seasons quest for a championship banner, world series banner. We have the pitching....we have the hitting....we have the defense....but do we have the heart and conviction to go out and play till it hurts....to make the 2010 Chicago White Sox a team that the sports world will talk about for many years to come....its up to the players first....secondly its up to us fans to make as much noise as we can to invigorate this team, and this city (Chicago)to bleed black and white, for our 2010 Chicago White Sox
  15. Head to Head w the Twins next week! The intensity will be high! Should be a fun last 50 games! Enjoy White Sox fans.....the Cubs fans are stuck following Bears training camp!
  16. Red Sox Agree To Deal With Carlos Delgado http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/08/red-...os-delgado.html
  17. Dayan Viciedo being showcased http://www.thesportsbank.net/chicago-white...d-cws-sea-game/
  18. 63 games to go, wild card unlikely what's gonna happen? Looks like we need to win our division to make the playoffs. The east has teams with more wins than our division and will probably have the wild card. Wonder how many games it will take to win our division? We'd only have to go 35-28 to get 90 wins. Is that enough?
  19. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) Yep. And he gave Garza alot of generous calls later on. I don't think he wanted to be the one to mess it up again. Congrats to Garza though. First pitcher in Rays history to throw one. I would have bet money it would have been David Price, but Garza was my second choice. Of the 120 pitches he threw, 101 were fastballs. That is amazing. So now only the Mets and Padres are the only teams who have never had a no-hitter in their history. It's hard to believe the Mets have never thrown a no-hitter with the likes of Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver and Jerry Koosman in their past.
  20. It wouldn’t be late July without rumors of intriguing three-team deals. ESPN’s Jayson Stark: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/07/edwi...team-rumor.html Rumblings continue to surface about a possible three-team deal involving the Nationals, White Sox and Diamondbacks that would send Edwin Jackson to Washington, Adam Dunn to Chicago and a bunch of young pitchers to Arizona. We know the Nationals like Jackson and the White Sox like Dunn, so perhaps the D’Backs can facilitate a deal and further stock up on prospects. Jackson, who is no stranger to three-team deals, has a 5.01 ERA, 7.0 K/9, and 4.0 BB/9 in 20 starts for Arizona. On the plus side, he turns 27 in September, averages 94 mph on his fastball, and is signed for next year. As he was with Dan Haren, D’Backs interim GM Jerry Dipoto might be forced to sell low on Jackson. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/07/ed... _________________________ I’d rather Williams get another Starter for the rotation considering Danial Hudson isn’t gonna cut it and Garcia’s wheels are falling off.
  21. Jenks "Irritated" that People are Upset Over His Closing! http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws The problem is that Jenks doesn't think he has a problem! "I've been the closer for this team, this is my sixth year closing," Jenks said before Friday night's game against the Oakland A's. "I shouldn't have to go out there and prove myself over and over again. I think I've done that, and it looks like I'm going to have to do it again." Jenks said he's taking Guillen's decision as a challenge, albeit irritating. "It's both," Jenks said. "I don't want to really overstep my boundaries as far as manager-player goes. Even Mariano [Rivera] had a couple bad games in a row. In my case, I just go out there and when I get the ball, I go out there and do my job. That's all I can do."
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 10:04 PM) I just don't like Teahen. I saw what he brought to the table for years in KC and said immediately it was a bad idea to bring him in. Viciedo right now is the opposite of buzzkill. Teahen fielded terribly and is a mediocre to bad hitter who strikes out all the time. Aside from that, he's fine. Teahen's a backup @ best. But, my question is: why do the White Sox need Teahen as a backup? Omar and Lillibridge have been performing better (both offensively and defensively)than Teahen did as a starter. DEFENSE is a big reason why the White Sox pitching has performed so well, over the past month. NOT Coincidently, Teahen has been on the DL during the winning surge.
  23. 7 RBIs in 13 ABs.....anybody miss Jayson Nix?
