  1. Abreu drove in more runs, had a higher AVG, and a higher OBP, all in a fairly pitcher's park in NY compared to here. I'd glady take him if we could get a guy like Bailey and another solid prospect for Dye. BTW- ESPN says the Sox are also interested in "a pitcher". Hopefully that's not Sheets...stay tuned.
  2. If the Bears can sign Jordan Gross or Vernon Carey, it would be a great offseason already. Both are 27 years old, and both are good players. Our RT spot would be filled for the next 5-7 years, and that would be one less position to fill in the draft. I'd love to have Boldin, but the odds of that happening is slim to none.
  3. QUOTE (4 points @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 04:18 AM) Peria, Jerry DT UVA. Actually, he went to Mississippi.
  4. QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 05:53 PM) Minnesota is back in the rankings, this time up to #19. Let's hope we stick around.. a win against MSU in East Lansing would be awesome, although highly unlikely. IMO, Michigan State is overrated. They barely beat Illinois at home, they lost to Penn State, they got smoked by UNC and Maryland at neutral sites, and they lost to Northwestern at home. I find it very likely that Minnesota beats the Spartans.
  5. If they traded down, I'd like any of the following players. Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers Paul Kruger, DE, Utah Duke Robinson, RG, Oklahoma Hakeem Nicks, WR, North Carolina Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland Louis Delmas, FS, Western Michigan
  6. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 06:51 AM) Im pretty sure the determination of pass or fumble comes when they look at whether the arm is coming forward or not. I have never heard it "in front of the head with possession" or "behind the head" Okay, do a throwing motion for me. Even if your arm is coming forward, yet your hand is still behind your head, it's not a fumble. If your hand would be past your ear, then it's a fumble. If it's even with your head....then I don't know what the call would be.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 1, 2009 -> 10:54 PM) This post is so incredibly inaccurate. Smoking a joint does not equal ripping a bong. Who gives a f***? The people that say marijuana is illegal? "Breath of fresh air"? From a bong....really? Really? It's my opinion. Obviously, people will be offended. But IMO, who cares? Let him do whatever.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 1, 2009 -> 11:06 PM) What is the exact ruling on that because it looked like his hand was moving forward. If you're throwing the ball and your hand is in front of your head with possession, it's an incomplete pass. If your hand is behind your head and the ball is jarred loose, it's a fumble. I'mm 97% sure that the ball came loose. It's a matter of physics- ball in Warner's hand meets Harrison's body = fumble.
  9. He makes most of America proud by what he did in Beijing and now people rip him for smoking up a joint or 7. Who gives a f**k? If he has fun doing it, let him do it. If I see another picture of him in a speedo, I'll puke. Atleast this was a breath of fresh air.
  10. What do you want them to review? His arm was hit and the ball was jarred loose...all while the ball was behind his head.
  11. What a great game. The 2 best Super Bowl's have come in the past 2 years. Larry Fitzgerald...you are ridiculous!
  12. Harrison's your MVP if the Steelers hang on for the win...
  13. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 02:22 PM) Devin Hester's kickoff return were some of the best 15 second of my life. Sadly, the game went downhill after that. Other highlights of the playoff run were Berrian's catch vs the Saints, and Robbie "good as" Gould's performance VS the Seahawks I was at the divisional and division championship games, and I'm not sure what my favorite memories are. I think the Berrian TD catch vs Seattle for like 70 yards or whatever- the throw was coming to me it seemed like. The safety against New Orleans was special. From there, even though it was then a 18-14 lead I believe, it seemed like the game was over.
  14. God bless him. Thanks for everything in 2005, Juany.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 03:40 PM) Looks like Terry Hawthorne to Illinois is a done deal. http://www.illinihq.com/news/football/2009..._with_illinois/ We are STACKED at WR. I can't wait to see what Schultz does with this passing attack. Don't you guys also have 2 WR's coming in from East St Louis, too?
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 08:46 PM) Wow... that was a cool game and all... but wow. The Bears are my favorite team in sports, yet I always say I'd take another WS over a SB. What?
  17. When they won the NFC title game, it was easily the greatest experience I've had as a sports fan, even greater then the Sox winning it all...sadly.
  18. Kane, Keith, and Toews will all probably get 5 or a bit over per year. I'd like Kane and Toews to get something like 9 years, $45 million, and Keith get something like 7 years, $35 million. Thoughts?
  19. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 04:23 PM) I remember being at the NFC championship game against the Saints. That was easily the greatest time of my life. ^^^^^^ The safety sign looked like a prayer, snow came down, and the route was on.
  20. Terrible play by Byfuglien to get Anaheim a shorty at the end of the period. He is either a terrible player, or just a lazy piece of trash. Anytime we want to trade him, I'll drive him to the airport for McDonough. Speaking of FA, I'd be willing to, with around $14 million in cap room, to give Havlat a 1 year deal worth about $3 and go hard after Hossa, maybe a 5 year $40 million deal like Malkin got.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 07:38 PM) I'll gladly buy you a beer. You're planning on going, too?
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 08:00 PM) Clearly this is going to be a wide open tourney this year. There is a definite top tier, but the gap is very small between the top tier and the second tier. Right now, Duke is a 2nd tier team. They have 2 good players (Singler,Henderson), and a bunch of solid or medicore guys. Nolan Smith and Scheyer are free throw shooters, Zoubek is an uncoordinated goof, McClure is a pure defender, Paulus is an energy guy, and Elliot Williams won't be anything more then 2 ppg this year.
  23. 33-28 Wake at half. I didn't expect Duke to win, but they're shooting like s*it and are only 5 behind. If Singler can figure out how to put the ball in the hoop, and if Zoubek can find some sort of coordination (just for 1 game), they'll win this.
