  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 08:30 PM) So, which players got into a battle on twitter This.
  2. Looks like Derrick decided to show up for the second half.
  3. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 09:31 AM) Great post and excellent point about giving KW credit for knowing when to cut Bobby loose. Everybody except Greg knew when to cut Bobby loose. He was bad in 2010 and didn't deserve $12 million.
  4. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 01:58 PM) Really... is that really racist? I honestly don't see how that is racist. Maybe all Chinese restaurants should stop giving away fortune cookies too.
  5. Damn, Dunn looks like he could actually play the OF again (not well, just not horribly).
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 04:15 PM) Really curious to hear the details of this. Right now it looks like another MLB coverup to save its image. Sounds like it. MVP suspended for steroids sounds like a really really bad headline.
  7. The Knicks are just murdering the Hawks. Lin with 13/4 already.
  8. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) JEREMY LIN I'm surprised that Rondo got to go despite getting suspended and all. But he definitely deserves it, he's played pretty well this year.
  9. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Feb 20, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) As nice a run that Lin has had, he shouldn't be taking more shots than Amar'e or Melo. He wasn't horribly inefficient today though. Carmelo didn't deserve to take more shots. He didn't shoot it well AND turned the ball over 6 times (horrible for a guy who doesn't handle the ball all the time).
  10. So yeah, Carmelo was awful and the Knicks lost. Jeremy Lin actually didn't turn the ball over and had a decent all-around game with 21/9/7. Let the Melo vs. Lin battles begin!
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 10:27 PM) Rumors of a Boozer for Gasol type deal circulating. 2 good to be true. Why the hell would the Lakers do that...? Other than them trying to lure Howard with one of his best buddies?
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 03:12 PM) Without looking at numbers, I'd say D'Antoni's teams historically have trouble against strong halfcourt teams, i.e., the ones you find in the playoffs. They put up great regular season numbers, but the playoffs have a different focus to them. Yeah, which is why D'Antoni's teams never got past the conference finals, even when he had Nash, Amare, Joe Johnson, and Marion (when he was still pretty good).
  13. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 02:47 PM) You take what the defense gives you? Next week we'll see how the Knicks fare against Miami, but it seems we are trying to downplay what the Lin led Knicks offense has done by saying "they haven't faced a real D yet", but the Knicks just beat the champs and Lin had a nice game except for the 7 TOs...28 pts, +50% fg, 14 asts, 4 rebs... I'm not saying it will happen but if Lin plays well against Miami, you might have people saying, "I bet he wouldn't do that vs the 1989 Detroit Pistons team"... I think we are seeing a backlash on all the Lin hype but the kid keeps proving the naysayers wrong...I think he's legit, will he regress?I think he will because he's putting up All Star stats and that can't continue, can it? He'll regress. He's shooting 50% from the floor right now and some of those shots are 3s and long 2s. Even some of the best perimeter shooters can't sustain those kind of numbers. But he's gotta offset that regression with less turnovers. I felt like Dallas did a great job containing Lin and the Knicks at times. The Knicks offense looked extremely stagnant for the better part of the second half and Lin was caught just dribbling the clock down since they were trapping him and closing off driving lanes. But Lin did what you said, he took what the defense gave him. Of course, it didn't hurt that Novak was on fire. We'll see how all of this works when Carmelo's back tomorrow or sometime next week, but from what I saw, JR Smith is really bad for this team. He took a bunch of crappy shots and held on to the ball a bit too long. Ball movement really slowed down when he was in the game, I thought.
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) Lin. 28 points (11-20 FG), 4 rebounds, 14 assists, 5 steals, 1 block (7 TO) in 45 minutes. Wow. 45 freakin' minutes. I'm never the kind of person who just cheers for individual players, but I find myself watching Lin's games just to watch him play.
  15. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 17, 2012 -> 11:33 PM) Ok, I got some catching up. 1) ss2k5 are you on crack? Jordan would average 40 a game in today's NBA. No hand checking, no Payton/Clyde/Dumars/Cooper/Moncrief to guard him, only one great big (who isn't s*** against the guys Jordan went up against), superstar calls, and he'd get f***ing pissed when someone like LeBron starts dancing and just drop bombs. 2) Hakeem > Dwight athletically. Dwight's got more vertical, but he could only begin to Dream (motherf***ing puns) about having Hakeem's coordination. 3) Wilt would still be good. Dude was Derrick Rose fast, a health freak that ran marathons in his 50s, and had great leaping ability. He wouldn't put up 50 and 25, but he'd be the best center in today's league, even with the 3 second rule. 4) Bill Russell would still be able to play. Probably not a Hall of Famer, but he'd be an all-star once or twice. 5) Cousy is an awkward motherf***er. Dunno how he'd adapt. 6) Wade is about equal to Clyde athletically. Look at this young man tell all you old folks what's up. Young people represent.

My roommates and I have been hooked on The Walking Dead for the past week. Really good show.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 10:38 PM) Did you see the game on Sunday? Which they barely won... NBA players sure age fast.
  18. I'm also in the replace Lucas with James camp.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) Portland has RIPCITY on the chest of their home jerseys. Awful They've had those for a few years now.
  20. That's game. Deng with another double-double and six 3s.
  21. Wow, this is some horrible officiating. Does the lead ref have money on this game or something?
  22. Boozer's having an incredibly good game, which is extremely surprising since he usually disappears against teams above .500.
  23. QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 09:22 PM) Then that's s***ty reporting, which is kind of what Steve was initially getting at. I thought he was just pointing out that ESPN likes to stretch/distort the facts to make a bigger story out of certain things, which they do a lot of.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 09:22 PM) I'm not ripping Jeremy Lin. I like Jeremy Lin. I can still analyze his game and final stat line. He played fine. However, 6 turnovers in 26 minutes is a tad careless and continues a trend that he needs to stop. I'm not saying you are and I think almost everyone agrees that the turnovers are weight down his game right now.
