  1. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 02:47 AM) Im surprised no one has mentioned this years NCAA and how awesome the new coaching carousel looks.. I love the new HDR lighting scheme. Too bad it won't be in Madden.
  2. I really don't have anything against Jackson, but the question of last year's trade was basically...why the hell did you have to give up Daniel Hudson AND David Holmberg for Edwin Jackson and his 5.5 ERA at the time?
  3. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 08:52 AM) One of the first of many offers I'm sure; That offer is a joke.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) So, if this ever happens again, do we say that the pitcher is having "Jake Peavy" surgery? He'll have his name in the history books for something other than the 07 Cy Young then.
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 05:08 PM) Pierre -- LF Ramirez -- SS Quentin -- RF Konerko -- 1B Pierzynski -- C Rios -- CF Beckham -- 2B Morel -- 3B Jackson – RHP Everybody other than Ramirez, Quentin, Konerko = black hole.
  6. I was faced with the decision of buying either Dead Space 2 or Bulletstorm today. Both of which I already have on my PC (but that's not available to me at the moment). I finally gave in and decided on Dead Space 2. BTW, EA Store has both for $24 bucks today tax and shipping included. Not a bad deal. I'll end up beating it and trading it in for 18 bucks at Gamestop next month.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 01:43 PM) Didn't people say the exact same thing about him last season? He didn't have a 70:9 K/BB ratio last year.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 01:39 PM) Is Jackson ready to pitch tonight? For the same reason? Many people on here still love him as well. Who has been riding Edwin's dick?
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 01:31 PM) Glad you recognize this. This indeed will happen and he'll win more WS the rest of his career than we will in the same span. And he'll have way more playoff appearances. Why? This is Chicago baseball. It was a miracle he and the Sox won the WS, a miracle that I'll take, obviously. Greg = Dan Gilbert?
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) I'm shocked at how bad Greinke's pitched in the NL so far. I really thought he'd dominate people. He has a .360 BABIP, which is probably due to the fact he's allowed 27% line drives. In a way, that should mean he's serving up a lot of bad pitches, but his K/BB ratio and his FIP say way otherwise. His FIP this year is only .2 higher than the year he won Cy Young. That ERA of his will come down eventually.
  11. Guess who has the 8th best FIP in all of baseball? That Daniel Hudson guy... Looks like Keith Law bites the dust again.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 12:59 PM) This is going to be a long-ass list. But here we go: Carlos Gonzalez Rickie Weeks Evan Longoria Tulo Ryan Zimmerman Justin Upton Jason Heyward Mike Stanton Eric Hosmer Andrew McCutchen Clayton Kershaw Josh Johnson David Price Cole Hamels Felix Brian Wilson Craig Kimbrel Johnny Venters Michael Pineda Mariano Carlos Marmol Juan Pierre (Yes, I know he's a White Sox. But he's so good I couldn't help myself). You're such a whore.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 11:39 AM) Seeing that Moneyball trailer makes me want Martinez even more... Oh, just do it, JR... Joe Maddon's Right Hand Man I'm fine with any manager that does more than go with his gut when making decisions in-game. If he's a good clubhouse manager, then that's just some icing on the cake.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 11:04 AM) Wait just a minute...you mean a team boots a worthless, incompetent vet (Jack Wilson in this case) for a premium young talent that's done nothing but hit and hit and hit at AAA? Well I'll be god damned. I see you've already picked him up in our saber league.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 09:47 AM) By winning percentage, the White Sox have the easiest interleague schedule in the AL. Gotta clean up. Knowing how bad the Sox have played against teams under .500, that's bad news.
  16. SoxAce actually predicted the Bulls would lose to the Heat in 5 games in the ECF. That's a damn good prediction.
  17. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 09:52 AM) The White Sox have finished fourth once since 1990. (5%) The White Sox have finished third five times since 1990. (25%) The White Sox have finished second ten times since 1990. (50%) The White Sox have finished first four times since 1990. (20%) This is a pretty solid ratio for a 20 year period. Honestly, this is the problem. Contending is a good thing, but if during a 20 year stretch, you contend in 10 of them and come up short, it is very apparent that you have failed to put your team over the top.
  18. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) You have some good ideas in there and some not worth mentioning. McDowell and Fisk are too big of a**holes and no one would listen to them. Ventura is such a quiet guy I'm not sure how effective he would be. He is more the GM type in my opinion. Hahn has learned under Williams so if Cora is out due to the Ozzie influence, Hahn should be out as well. If there are changes, I do like the Martinez, Alomar Jr. They imoressed me as good "coach types" in my dealings with them. I have no idea what really goes on in the front office, but Hahn and Kenny are not of the same baseball philosophy.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 09:44 AM) That's a bunch of BS. Everyone knows that 110% of 58 is 64 lol, I just realized the mistake in the first post.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 09:40 AM) I really don't understand how Viciedo isn't thought of as a top 10-20 prospect in baseball. Very little plate discipline, poor defense. But he's a hell of a hitter.
  21. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 09:39 AM) Jake pitched six innings in Charlote and K'd 9 and gave up only two hits. I cut and pasted this from the Chisox.Com article: The right-hander, who strained his groin in his last Major League start against the Detroit Tigers on June 5, threw 78 of his 58 pitches for strikes and did not walk a batter. I had no idea he was that good Peavy causes a lot of fan-bipolar syndrome. One day, you hate him cause he's hurt again. A week later, you like him because you know he's good when he's healthy and he proves it. Two weeks later, you hate him because he'll probably be hurt again. It's a never ending cycle.
  22. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 09:27 AM) Ah, the old "we aren't as bad as we used to be, so be happy" argument. You can talk about their final records all you want, but the fact of the matter is that they always do just enough to still fail. Two division titles in ten years isn't sufficient for the team that has had the highest or second-highest payroll each of those years. You can cry all you want about a lack of faith from the fans, but the fact seems to be that KW and OG are gone if/when they fail again this year. And they deserve it. This is the kind of stuff you reminiscence about when you're on your death bed.
  23. $130 million better win you a bad division. Yes, you can look to the past and put everything into the context of the big picture, but is it really necessary to do that when the past is the past and the present presents a situation where the context is completely different? This is the most money this team has ever spent on a roster, yet it has resulted in a team 4 games under .500 that gets its ass kicked by teams under .500. People have a right to be pissed off.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 09:08 AM) Haha, I like how Royce Clayton is playing Miguel Tejada. Both are short, I'll give them that.
