  1. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 04:16 PM) The funny thing is... people usually rip Lovie for not having any balls and always kicking FG when were down on the one/end zone, yet most of the time... that decision he should not be faulted on (come on your on the freaking one yard line). However, Stafford was not in the game, Detroit could not move the ball to get a first down since Stafford was in, and it was still about 6 minutes left in the game. I agree with nitetrain, I agree with his choice all in all and the Bears still won. If the Bears actually remembered Calvin Johnson needs triple coverage, maybe there wouldn't even be a cause for such a cheap win. I know, except he picked a really bad time to prove otherwise. It reminded me of two years ago, when we had the ball on the 1 in Minnesota and didn't score. The Vikings ended up getting a 97 yard touch down on the ensuing play. Thank god this was the Lions and not a better team.
  2. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 02:26 PM) greg, how do you manage to make every thread on this board so awful? It's really impressive. Trolling is an art.
  3. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 04:09 PM) Detroit was robbed. But hey, people from Detroit are used to getting robbed.
  4. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 04:08 PM) I'm in till they're mathematically eliminated. Mathematically speaking... http://www.coolstandings.com/baseball_standings.asp?i=1 I think I've realized that the Twins are just too good and that we're just what I thought we were supposed to be at the beginning of the year: a 88-90 win team. It's too bad, because if somebody told you the Sox would be on track to win 89 games at the start of the year, you'd think we'd have a great shot at the playoffs.
  5. 3 years $36 million?
  6. QUOTE (11and1 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:57 PM) So here's the question. Do I let myself get drawn back into this? Being a Sox fan is like having an abusive parent Cookie...SLAP....cookie....SLAP....cookie....SLAP..... Ah well, live by the math, die by the math. Thank god they're off tomorrow..... No... Unless they sweep the Twins, there's literally no chance. Even if they do sweep the Twins, the chances are probably around 20%.
  7. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:56 PM) god i hate lubbie Our town has such stubborn coaching personalities.
  8. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:56 PM) I'll say it right now. Andruw should be in the lineup every day . He's a run producer , a very good fielder and we desperately need that. He's actually in one of his hot streaks right now. He should be playing regularly.
  9. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:53 PM) @JOD9500 - Post game and Lovie still says he made the right move not going for the field goal. This guy is clueless!!! He's just like Ozzie, even when Jim Thome is winning games for the Twins.
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:40 PM) Sure and I will be happy about it at that time. But sure is hard to be happy about a win when frankly the other team scored a TD that should have won them the game that somehow wasn't rule a TD because of a ludicrous rule. Had Lovie Smith just elected to kick the FG when we were on the 1, that wouldn't have even been an issue.
  11. I kind of feel bad for Calvin Johnson. He had a terrible game, but that call was partially his fault. If he just holds on to the ball, the Lions would have won the game by now.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) The Bears didn't win that game. Arguably the dumbest rule in professional sports history won them the game. That rule is unfathomably stupid. There is not a legitimate reason for that rule to exist. The Twins won a game on such a rule and they also won one on a pop up that hit a speaker. There have been cheaper wins out there, which is good to know.
  13. This has to be the luckiest win in Bears history.
  14. Holy crap... Lovie Smith just dodged a HUGE bullet.
  15. It should be, but there's stupid rules in every sport.
  16. Let's see how this ruling goes.
  17. This is gonna come down to the last second. Detroit's 2 minute offense is looking good so far.
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) No. I would take the lead knowing that the Lions offense can't score. Exactly. Way to tell your defense, who just got a huge turnover, they're not good enough.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) Great throw by Cutler, he played a great game today. He only made one really bad throw. Good game today.
  20. WHY IS LOVIE SMITH SO GOD DAMN STUPID?
  21. Tom Tango's "The Book" is pretty good too.
  22. All I have to say is that the Sox not signing Jim Thome was the best idea ever...for the Twins.
  23. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) More Kotsay hate.... Newsflash: Kotsay is a better baseball player than Mark Teahen and a much better RF as well. Morel should have taken Teahen's place at 3B after last night, and Kotsay should have taken 1B and LF/RF from him well before that. Teahen is not only a terrible baseball player, but he has no fit on this team beyond LH pinch hitter. If we make it he'll in all likelihood miss the postseason roster all throughout the playoffs, no matter what the Kotsay haters will insist. And Ozzie will be 100% in the right for doing it. He is? Teahen's wOBA is higher by about 15 points and Kotsay's no longer an outfielder. His legs are done, he no longer has any sort of range, which is why he's been kept out of the OF since late April/early May. I really don't know what Ozzie's trying to do here...
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 08:51 AM) Nick Masset on the mound, runners on 1st and 3rd. Runner on 3rd takes off. Players yell that he's taking off. Masset turns towards 2nd, the unoccupied base. Masset turns towards 1st. Masset turns towards home and throws Throw is too late, winning run scores. Video. The sad part is that he's right handed...
