Hudson's gotta go at least 5 innings today.

Inside corner is getting calls, start throwing it in there.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 03:48 PM) FREE RAMON CASTRO! I don't see the need to call for so many fastballs when his change-up has easily been his best pitch.

Absolutely terrible pitch selection this inning.

Wow, we're lucky that ball bounced right back to A.J.

GT: White Sox @ A's 7/25, 3:05 CT, CSN
Why aren't they throwing the change on 0-2 counts?

Damn it.

That ball was about a inch too high.

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 03:40 PM) Isn't one of Huddy's strengths to throw strikes? Seems as if he either has nerves or is trying to nibble too much to me. I didn't see his start in Seattle, however. It's not rare for young pitchers to be a bit afraid of the bat when coming to the big leagues I guess...so let's see He's supposed to have good control.

Hudson could have had Ellis picked off.

Nice catch by Alexei.

Should have thrown Watson a change-up there.

Umpire isn't calling the high strike. Hudson's thrown two of those to Ellis. Both balls.

Come on Dayan, take that walk. Edit: Damn.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 03:26 PM) He throws a lot like Peavy. I haven't seen an analysis of Hudson's throwing motion yet, but it doesn't look good from just watching him pitch. Peavy's motion is a lot more violent.

That would have been the perfect swinging bunt.

GT: White Sox @ A's 7/25, 3:05 CT, CSN
He just sawed him off.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) Different arm angle though...I'd say Hudson throws harder but McCarthy had better curve. I don't like Hudson's mechanics. Too much bend in the elbow.

With the base open there, you might as well just walk Cust.

That change just dropped off a table.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) I think that's what happens when he's not 100%. More and more, I think his timing depends on his health. We saw that after his wrist got hit, that was the perfect example. His hand hurt, and suddenly he was a little off on his timing. That makes a lot of sense. Let's hope that wrist heals up soon.

Hudson's changeup is super, super nasty when he's got control of it.

GT: White Sox @ A's 7/25, 3:05 CT, CSN
Carlos has been so close to hitting these balls hard. He's just missing them, kind of like early in the year...

Paulie's mastering that opposite field double.

Alexei with a nice hit.
