Robin Ventura is the f***ing man... I'd agree with you, roman, if the Sox offered him a very solid offer, but they offered him jack s***. These guys only play in this league for, at most 20 years; and some (like Robin) who suffer horrible injuries, will play even less. It made sense for both the Sox and Robin to part. There's much more to baseball than just hitting, man. I admit, Maggs is a great player (Top 5 outfielder in baseball without breaking a sweat), but if you're just going to only use his batting average and power as a way to ocmpare him to everyone else, we're not going to agree much, seeing as there a other factors like speed, baserunning ability, defense, arm power, etc.

Vladamir Guerrero is possibly the best outfielder in baseball right now, and Ichiro might be the 2nd best. They are not average right fielders.

The season hinges most on Garland and Wright.

Center field > Right Field... I agree Maggs is a better player than Hunter, but Hunter's numbers are much better than your average center fielder than Magglio's numbers compared to the average right fielder. That's why I'd take him.

Borchard's not a center fielder. We are weak there, and center field is much more important than right field. Nothing against Maggs, but I would take Hunter over him if given the chance. I don't think Magglio's offensive outweighs Hunter's defensive.

Just with the ability to play defense. I don't really know what you're talking about. That guy plays unbelievable D, and he's probably one of the top 5 defensive outfielders in the game right now at centerfield, one of the most demanding positions there is. There's a lot more to baseball than offense alone. All things considered (age, position, defense, offense, etc.), if I had to choose between Magglio and Torii, I think I'd take Torii.

You're correct, LDF... Ray had no problems vocalizing his displeasure with the Baldwin trade. Ironic he'd later be part of an even worse one.
