  1. It really is pathetic how we can make pitchers like Adam Eaton and Jorge De La Rosa look like Aces.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 04:39 PM) BA as a starter so far Walk (caught stealing, but Lillibridge missed hit and run contact), K (critical AB) and 4-3 (at least he didn't K against Perry, who had just knocked down Alexei twice) 1/8 on the season (.125) .364 OBP.
  3. Dye is a quiet guy, he doesn't want much attention. Crede was a prankster, he fit in with A.J., Rowand and Buehrle as one of the stooges in the clubhouse. Not to mention Crede was tremendous on defense and an incredible clutch hitter(when healthy). Remember when Gavin Floyd was garbage? I'm pretty sure people here were ripping him. Josh Fields was insulted all offseason over his defense (which has saved us mutliple runs this year). Toby Hall and Corky Miller have been joked about. Most Sox fans aren't racist, we just don't like bad baseball.
  4. Most people have accepted that BA would hit basically .250/.300/.450 if given 600 AB's; however, Anderson actually has the upside to meet his impressive minor league numbers (.293/.364/.474, .838 OPS) and provides spectacular defense, which is important when playing next to Jermaine Dye and Carlos Quentin.
  5. Deserved to win last week and lost. Got rocked this week and won. Gavin is tricky.
  6. QUOTE (Ron @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:55 PM) Separated shoulder for Wise. I hate to see him go out like that. I never want to see a guy get injured. How long would that keep him out?
  7. Not sure how long that'll keep him out, but the Tigers announcers just said that's what he's got.
  8. I'm pretty sure we own Blackburn at home, it'd be nice to get to .500 on the homestand.
  9. QUOTE (tommy @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 06:36 PM) Pujols with a grand slam and 3 run shot today. Pujols is the Iguchi of St. Louis.
  10. The Royals pulled this same s*** with JD last year, I am fully in favor of pegging one of those uppity f***s in the face.
  11. BA isn't even an automatic out, the guy was actually pretty successful in the minors and cleaned up his swing last year. He's had sporadic playing time, give him a month to start and see how he hits, I guarantee he'll be around .250/.310/.450.
  12. While he is a great talent and would probably be an upgrade over our current players, the price we'd have to pay get him would be way too high for a guy who could conceivably take himself out of baseball at any moment.
  13. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 01:37 AM) Wise is going to go 4/4 with 2 2B a HR and a SB tomorrow. Book it. They sent him to AAA?
  14. Could we just make this the "please start Brian Anderson" thread?
  15. Opening day on my birthday, doesn't get much better than that.
  16. QUOTE (daa84 @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 04:02 PM) bah mlbtv has the sound f***ed up....only playing out of my left speaker...and it isnt my speakers that are broken I thought my headphones were broken at first, good to hear I'm not the only one.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 03:15 AM) Good post Tommy. That answers my question. Mac I'm sure will be on a short leash. He is not one of Oz's past favorites. One or two horrific outings out of the gate might be it for him. p.s. Did Boone Logan make a roster this spring? I disliked him equally. Logan was traded to Atlanta in the Javier Vazquez deal.
  18. Pretty DP to end it, nice pick by Fields, strong throw by Getz.
  19. Bartolo K's Figgy looking on an outside fastball(probably a little bit too outside). Kendrick singles.
