  1. How would they be stunting the rebuild?
  2. I think the Giants are just a terrible match prospect wise though for the White Sox unfortunately
  3. No that's not really how it works. They wouldn't have burned an option year late last year if they knew he was hurt. These guys try to avoid surgery at all costs.
  4. Thorpe has no structural damage currently. Tommy John right now would be a very surprising outcome.
  5. I think Brandon Drury will be on the team as well. Curious to see about an out of options Lenyn Sosa.
  6. I just think it's too early to make these determinations. Fedde/Kopech deadline deal looks pretty bad right now. Bummer trade isn't great either. I don't really have any issue with the others as of now.
  7. Not a huge fan of that one. Catastrophic? How so? I kind of like the roster churn. It's something that KW and Hahn never did during the last rebuild. They absolutely cannot "afford" to sign guys like that this year. They are spending what they're allowed to spend.
  8. Do any of the hires he's made change your mind as well? I've said a million times that I wasn't a fan of the Chris Getz hire it's not the hire I would've made. I'm pretty impressed with the majority of hires he's made to reshape the organization similarly to how an outsider would though. I'm guessing that the Sox feel like Tyler Gilbert and Cam Booser types will bring them back more at the deadline than what they traded to acquire them. The Sox got an actual prospect for Tanner Banks at last year's deadline. I think it's just a similar gamble to try and create value.
  9. It all comes down to developing players. The Brewers have perks that the White Sox will never get though. They get extra international space, they get an extra draft pick to use every year as well. They also receive a first round pick if they lose a star FA. It’s just much different. Theres no reason why the Sox can’t operate like the Braves or Houston though.
  10. They never checked last year and upper deck folks were allowed downstairs. You can essentially sit wherever you want
  11. I don’t think development is linear. And also, my goodness this thread sucks.
  12. I hope they hold Robert but it scares the s%*# out of me
  13. No. He posted a 140 wRC+ in Low-A with San Diego prior to a promotion. Sox sent him to High-A as they should've. He struggled to hit but he walked at an 18% clip in High-A as a 19-year-old. He's definitely still a prospect.
  14. I disagree that it was rushed. I had no interest in taking Dylan Cease into the season and risking regression or injury. They had a couple offers from Texas and San Diego and those were by far the best offers they'd had to that point from what I understand. They could've held Cease and gotten more at the deadline potentially but I think it was enough to make the trade when they did.
  15. The system is really good. I know, shocker haha.
  16. Did I? I believe I said that about the Vargas deal. I was fine with the Dylan Cease trade at the time. They need a lot more out of Jairo Iriarte though.
  17. I think there's a decent chance that Berroa is better than Santos this year
  18. I understand not liking Drew Thorpe but posters calling the Cease trade a failure due to the 4th piece not working out is hilarious. We won’t have answers on that Cease return for years.
  19. I’m guessing they think Steven Wilson clears waivers. It’s pretty puzzling otherwise.
  20. Wilson probably clears I'd imagine. I'm generally good with the roster churn but it's a lot of lefties in the bullpen.
  21. It's really cheap because you can sit wherever you want. I just don't have interest in that many weekday games that early in the season.
  22. Tucker is gonna get $400 million plus.
  23. The White Sox system is ranked #12 by Keith Law, #2 by ESPN and #4 by Baseball America so far. MLB Pipeline hasn't released yet.
  24. I think there were some wins too though. Noah Schultz has elevated significantly to what he’s become. Peyton Pallette, Jonathan Cannon, Davis Martin and Aldrin Batista are big positives. They need to see some gains on position player side but Ryan Fuller was hired for a reason.
  25. I’m not a fan of Justin Crawford I’m not opposed to the White Sox eating $$ but they need a much better headliner than Edwin Arroyo to do so.
