  1. I wrote a lot of words on the draft for those interested: https://www.futuresox.net/2024/07/30/white-sox-add-plethora-of-players-in/
  2. It’s not peanuts though. They’re betting big on Miguel Vargas and the return is a player short for sure. Most people are just being hyperbolic online though.
  3. I’m not denying that. I just don’t think the Jays return is great. Houston has worst system in the league. Both 19 year olds the Sox acquired would be like top 8 prospects in that system.
  4. Who were these position players? This just isn't true at all. They medical red flagged Wetherholt and weren't taking him. They weren't taking Cags because they wanted an up the middle player and Griffin still isn't signed in Pittsburgh because his camp wants too much $$. Hagen Smith was an easy call in hindsight.
  5. Yes it is. Vargas was a top 40 prospect in baseball because he gets on base at a .400 clip and he has like 70 minor league homers. Loperfido is older than him and has to stay off 1B to be anything basically
  6. Of course. These guys are middle of the top 30 types That’s a pitcher deal though. Sox could’ve probably topped this if they took pitching in return. Hahn didn’t know A ball players either. You always rely on scouts, front office team etc
  7. Like taking a chance on Vargas. Really like both young bats. Those are the types of bats available in this market. The trade still seems at least one player short though. I thought Fedde had more value.
  8. Theyre all in AZ getting ramped up. Some of the hitters should join Kanny soon.
  9. Sox likely turn down any Padres deal that doesn’t include De Vries and Snelling
  10. I don't think the Sox are interested in Lesko. It's one reason they couldn't come close on a Crochet deal.
  11. The thing I don’t get is why someone would drive him into the ground. Nobody will do that. Teams are buying two seasons and three playoff runs. They’ll work with him
  12. The Sox did receive their #17 prospect in that trade at least.
  13. Well Saucke got more $$ so that’s not a surprise
  14. I think hiring a director of international scouting should be Getz's number 1 priority this offseason. They're already years behind now though.

I just don’t understand why the pivot wasn’t Nimmala or Miller. My goodness
  16. CAA has been telling everyone who would listen
  17. So what? Does that mean he’s now incapable of recognizing the mistake and firing him?
  18. Y2Jimmy0 replied to BamaDoc's topic in FutureSox Board
It runs counter to everything Mike Shirley has done otherwise.
  19. I think Pedro would be gone already if it were up to Getz
  20. Nah he’ll still have tons of trade value in the offseason
  21. De Los Santos has a 40% chase rate playing in the PCL. I’m not a fan of this for the Marlins.
  22. If the White Sox would’ve taken Mike Sirota and Peyton Stovall, nobody would have an issue. The thing is though, none of us have any idea if those two players are better than McLain and Antonacci.
  23. I mean I guess this is fair but which difference could they have taken with the $1.3 million spent on those two guys? We’re talking about day two. Smith and Bonemer need to be difference makers.
  24. Right but Sirota’s apparently contribute to his underachieving.
  25. They lose Prager and can’t spend the slot amount from pick 81 in this draft but they get pick 82 in next year’s draft.
