  1. Yeah I haven't really dug deeply into the connections. I know that Clayton McCullough's dad is a longtime pro scout for the Royals and he also came up with Indians, played with Sizemore in minors and managed for Mark Shapiro in Toronto I don't believe so but three of his ex-coaches are on White Sox staff currently I guess I don't really have a preference. Skip Schumaker seems obvious but I'd be fine with any of Lombard, Descalso, McCullough or Venable honestly. It's so hard to know who will be good or not. I don't know why people think this. I agree with you but they did this last time and landed on Pedro Grifol.
  2. They're likely to reach a deal with comcast at some point and probably some non youtube tv streamers as well. It is also expected that they'll distribute direct to consumers in some fashion at some point as well via an app. The revenue brought in from local tv deals was a huge payroll driver though for majority of clubs which is a big issue. There is definitely another work stoppage coming.
  3. Fegan also reported that Schumaker is still in the mix, the Sox have told some candidates that they aren't finalists and that they'd like to make a hire by end of October and prior to GM meetings. I believe that these are the people we know of so far. Skip Schumaker (Former Marlins Manager) Grady Sizemore (Internal) George Lombard (Tigers Bench Coach) AJ Ellis (Special assistant in San Diego) Clayton McCullough (Dodgers 1B Coach) Phil Nevin (Former Angels Manager) Daniel Descalso (Cardinals Bench Coach) Will Venable (Rangers Bench Coach) Am I missing anyone?
  4. It was reported this weekend that direct to consumer is coming. They just have to finish their media rights deals first. I'm waiting for that because I want to keep youtube tv.
  5. The part that Dan Hayes left out is that Twins wanted the Sox to eat $$ on Fedde. Sox wanted someone better than Keashall to do so.
  6. 100% this.
  7. This is gross and it makes me lose even more faith in the decision makers. Also, he's not worth whatever the under is either. $5 million is too much because he stinks. Would you pay Lenyn Sosa that much? I bet he'd produce similarly playing 1B with the same number of plate appearances. Yeah I'm pretty confident that it won't be Atlanta. They want position players. Why would he flippable? He sucks and nobody wants him.
  8. It doesn't matter who they replace him with. He posted a 98 wRC+ as a first baseman and was a negative WAR player. He's bad at baseball and is an easy non-tender at that cost.
  9. None of this makes any sense. He's just not worth the arb cost. He's a bad baseball player. I'll be pretty disappointed if they tender him at that price. It should be an easy decision.
  10. I don't really know. It was awhile ago. They might've done it to sign Cruz instead but I have no idea.
  11. No. I think Alejandro Cruz sounds interesting but Sox aren't linked to any of the top players. Yorger Bautista is a guy who had an agreement with the Sox but they reneged on the deal I believe. He's signing with Seattle instead and is ranked as #5 prospect at Pipeline.
  12. I have Youtube TV and I don't feel changing. I'm certainly not just to watch Hawks and Bulls game. I'll have a decision to make in the spring though.
  13. Advocating for the right for the LGBTQ community shouldn't be a political issue. It's just about not being a total fucking asshole. I suspect it had something to do with it though.
  14. Does it say somewhere that Youtube TV isn't likely? That's a surprise to me since they have NBC Sports Chicago.
  15. This is embarrassing but we knew much of this info already. What an absolute disaster of an organization. Great job by Ken Rosenthal and Britt Ghiroli: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5773947/2024/09/19/white-sox-failure-worst-season-history/
  16. One misconception that I’ve seen is about the pro scouts. These guys are scouting minor league players to acquire via trade. They recommend the trade returns. So the people who hate Chris Getz’s trades should be thrilled that these guys are fired.
  17. I pretty much agree with both of these posts. Well said, Josh.
  18. That has been said. I have no idea how true it is. I also know that Kenny preferred the older Cubans because they could help the big league club quickly. The whole operation is a mess and it’ll take years to fix.
  19. Again, I don’t think this part is true Those signings are basically done. I never said it should make anyone feel confident I mean, it is what it is. Deals have been agreed upon for years at this point.
  20. I’m pretty sure Getz would’ve canned Paddy last year if he weren’t under contract. Also, this won’t really affect January 15, 2025 very much. These agreements have been in place for awhile.
  21. No. If I worked for them, I’d probably be much more pessimistic. Also though, what did I say that wasn’t true?
  22. My advice would be to stop following the team. Being this miserable intentionally makes no sense to me. For sure. He’s pitching in the AFL
  23. I think Grant Taylor is an ace potentially. Mason Adams could be a mid-rotation guy and then lots of #4's but that's still extremely valuable. Also, I'm not just gonna brush off having Schultz and Smith potentially as early as mid-season 2025.
  24. Yeah they're pitchers. They all break at some point. That's factored in.
  25. I don't believe that there's massive uncertainty with Schultz and Smith.
