  1. Okay. I’ll do this a different way. You’re wrong about this. They’re credible.
  2. Hiring Brian Bannister is an organization changing move. Their pitching development is on par with the best in baseball right now imo. I also like the types of hitters that the org has added via the draft and trade deadline. I know it’s easier to just get mad and complain about stuff all the time though.
  3. I don’t think those guys are clowns. They have the best sports talk show in the city. They have plenty of credibility. Come on, man. It’s the most popular sports station in the city. Also, Dan Proft sucks. I wouldn’t have said that and Shane didn’t know his mother was dead but I don’t feel any sympathy for Dan Proft. I know these guys a bit. Matt Spiegel and Shane Riordan don’t just make things up. They had corroboration from players. I’ll take their word over White Sox PR. Exactly this. They didn’t start anything. Spiegel was critical of John Schriffen’s job performance. John is totally fair game. It’s market 3 my friend. Then he reacted and said the haters and losers thing. Multiple outlets tried to have him on to explain who the haters were and he declined. The criticism continued because he’s bad at his job. I don’t think it’s smart to be sniping back and forth with guys who have a platform from 2-6 every day and nothing to discuss.
  4. Getz has actually done multiple positive things. I’m not sure Grifol is actually good at anything.
  5. Being unwilling to trade in the division is madness. Doesn’t make sense when you’re going to be bad anyway.
  6. Thorpe could be fine with rest but if it’s Tommy John, 2025 isn’t a bad year to miss honestly. Better than 3 years from now

I know Bannister was tinkering with his pitch mix. 5 runs in the first and only hit the rest of the way.
  8. Okay but it worked. They got a reliever and saved $3.5 million
  9. Hes just a regular free agent because the Mets didn’t offer him a deal I believe he needs or had Tommy John
  10. Snelling and Lesko were both on pipeline list but they won’t be once they rerank.
  11. Nope. Smith is the better prospect. I totally get taking him.
  12. I’d give it a C. Holding Robert and Crochet is the smart move. The Fedde return was a player short. I don’t dislike what was acquired but the deal is at least one piece short. The other trades were fine and I think Banks and Eloy were really good ones.
  13. I wrote a lot of words on the draft for those interested: https://www.futuresox.net/2024/07/30/white-sox-add-plethora-of-players-in/
  14. It’s not peanuts though. They’re betting big on Miguel Vargas and the return is a player short for sure. Most people are just being hyperbolic online though.
  15. I’m not denying that. I just don’t think the Jays return is great. Houston has worst system in the league. Both 19 year olds the Sox acquired would be like top 8 prospects in that system.
  16. Who were these position players? This just isn't true at all. They medical red flagged Wetherholt and weren't taking him. They weren't taking Cags because they wanted an up the middle player and Griffin still isn't signed in Pittsburgh because his camp wants too much $$. Hagen Smith was an easy call in hindsight.
  17. Yes it is. Vargas was a top 40 prospect in baseball because he gets on base at a .400 clip and he has like 70 minor league homers. Loperfido is older than him and has to stay off 1B to be anything basically
  18. Of course. These guys are middle of the top 30 types That’s a pitcher deal though. Sox could’ve probably topped this if they took pitching in return. Hahn didn’t know A ball players either. You always rely on scouts, front office team etc
  19. Like taking a chance on Vargas. Really like both young bats. Those are the types of bats available in this market. The trade still seems at least one player short though. I thought Fedde had more value.
  20. Theyre all in AZ getting ramped up. Some of the hitters should join Kanny soon.
  21. Sox likely turn down any Padres deal that doesn’t include De Vries and Snelling
  22. I don't think the Sox are interested in Lesko. It's one reason they couldn't come close on a Crochet deal.
  23. The thing I don’t get is why someone would drive him into the ground. Nobody will do that. Teams are buying two seasons and three playoff runs. They’ll work with him
  24. The Sox did receive their #17 prospect in that trade at least.
  25. Well Saucke got more $$ so that’s not a surprise
