Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
No shot. Getz is very safe. Jerry Reinsdorf doesn’t fire people

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
It's actually from a Hayes tweet. My bad. Look in the article we posted at FutureSox: https://www.futuresox.net/2025/02/24/ishbia-brothers-increase-white-sox-in/

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
No you’re not correct. Try to keep up. The important parts are Ishbia dropping Twins bid after being really far down the road toward ownership and the Reinsdorf’s approaching Ishbia as the impetus to buy more shares and drop the Twins. Those are the most importabt details. I have no idea when Ishbia might get control of the White Sox. But I’m pretty certain that he didn’t give up the Twins for a coke and a smile and the chance to help Jerry Reinsdorf build a new stadium.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
You can tell the people who read the original reporting by Greenberg and Hayes and the people who haven’t in regards to this story and that includes the media. Those stories are both essential.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
I don’t think anyone thought it was real close. The story was never that Reinsdorf is selling. The story is that Justin Ishbia is t buying the Twins and the Reinsdorf’s approached him to take a bigger stake instead. Justin Ishbia is the overwhelming favorite to be the next owner of the White Sox at some point. That’s the story.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
Jerry doesn't own very much of the team. Under 20% I believe.
-
Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
He's gotten much more correct on the Sox than he's ever gotten wrong. That trade was done but I believe Matt Foster or the pitcher in return was hurt and Arizona backed out.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
Bob Nightengale was on 670 this morning and speculated that Justin Ishbia has close to 40% of the team now.

Bush is absolutely a top 20 prospect in this system. He's just hurt now. This was put together prior to the injury.

Opening Day 26-Man Roster
Guaranteed money
-
3/2 - Sox @ Dodgers 2:05 CST - spring training
Are we seriously debating whether guys are busts based on spring training results? This is insane, guys.
-
Opening Day 26-Man Roster
I’d think Bryse Wilson is the 5th starter until Thorpe is ready
-
3/1 - Sox @ Mariners - spring training
In relief, yeah. Good to see though

Opening Day 26-Man Roster
Correct
-
Opening Day 26-Man Roster
I just have no reason to believe that a deal is coming.
-
Opening Day 26-Man Roster
I'd be pretty surprised if Luis Robert is moved prior to opening day

White Sox debut on CHSN: Will fans watch?
I’m on their side with Comcast though. Putting them on the higher tier doesn’t help anyone. I can’t believe anybody still uses Xfinity for cable

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
For sure. Two more high draft picks and a Robert trade return should help though.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
If the Sox aren't competitive in 2027, something went really wrong. They have a top 5 system no money on the books going forward. It would be a huge problem if this prospect core ins't in the big leagues to close out 2026 at basically the latest.
-
Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
Dan Berstein basically said that the Ishbia money will severely decrease the ask from the state in regards to The 78 and there's movement on that front. Said there's no current deal or something for Ishbia to take over but it's obvious that Ishbia isn't dropping Twins just to help the Reinsdorfs build a stadium.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
Many people seem to be saying this. I just think when push comes to shove, the owners won't have the stomach to give up the guaranteed money that comes with playing the 2027 season. Even with a prolonged stoppage, a salary cap is never happening so it's a pointless fight.
