  1. They were close with the Phillies at the deadline from what I've heard and it sounds Aiden Miller was a real sticking point. Dodgers talks involved Josue de Paula and River Ryan. The White Sox decided to hold obviously. I'd be really surprised if he's not moved this off-season.
  2. Lots of teams have this. It's not a minor league hitting coordinator. He's in charge of hitting for the entire organization. It's basically the same thing that Brian Bannister has been doing but for hitting. Fuller was their minor league hitting coordinator for years and coached many of their prospects as a hitting coaching in Bowie I believe.
  3. Yes, actually. He really preaches hitting the ball in the air and swing decisions, etc. The Orioles "struggled" in the second half offensively and went out early in the playoffs and both hitting coaches took the fall. To me though, this type of role fits this guy much better than big league hitting coach.
  4. He was recently fired as the co-hitting coach of the Baltimore Orioles. My guess is that he's essentially "in charge" of hitting. He'll be the offensive equivalent to Brian Bannister.
  5. Sure but he said that he finally started to listen to what he was being told. Then he went to Dodgers and continued success and even improved. They definitely had some impact. The narrative that "they fixed" Michael Kopech is nonsense though. I think that trade was a bit short. Kopech for Albertus and Perez is probably fine in isolation.
  6. Where do the White Sox get their 10 WAR superstar position player from?
  7. Hey! We agree on something haha. The narrative that the Dodgers fixed Michael Kopech is insane. He just actually started doing the things that Brian Bannister told him to do. It started with his last five appearances with the White Sox. It's a big reason why the Sox should've been able to get more for him in the trade.
  8. I was told that Jeremy Haber made the decision to draft Jacob Gonzalez once their top target, Blake Mitchell, was off the board.
  9. The issue is that these old guys never want to leave. He could be there waiting forever.
  10. George Lombard out of the mix per Heyman.
  11. So his opinion is different than the echo chamber on here? Oh the horror.
  12. I kind of enjoy the info that Harold provides to the board (for free by the way). All of the bitching and moaning about him and his info is fucking absurd. It would suck if he went away or stopped sharing with random message board people.
  13. I think Drew Thorpe is good. We disagree again which doesn't surprise me.
  14. For sure. That trade was at least one player short and I said it at the time.
  15. They both have really solid hit tools and they both control the zone. The White Sox are also going to lose 100+ games again. There's really no way around it.
  16. I don't think I've celebrated Chris Getz. I just don't knee jerk react to everything. He's made some very questionable trades but I think the front office hires have made sense and revamping the way organization operates makes sense as well. Ultimately though, they need to find good players. I'm aware. Brian Bannister lobbied heavily for Drew Thorpe from what I understand. He'll be a significant part of their rotation moving forward.
  17. The White Sox would've been eviscerated for acquiring Tommy Edman. I'm sorry but this is horseshit. Chriz Getz is definitely not the hire I would've made but he's operated very similarly to how an outside hire would operate under this ownership. There are lots of new faces and they aren't all "idiot buddies from Kansas City". Josh Barfield, Brian Bannister and David Keller all come from pretty well run orgs. Now it's all about what they do though and developing players but it's ignorant and lazy to just assume that all these hires are bad. Who are the crony hires? I need to know so I don't get confused next time. "Leakers" lol. That's cute. I try to be as honest and transparent as possible. I wouldn't have hired him. I don't believe it's destined to fail though. If I did, I'd stop paying attention and I definitely wouldn't be wasting my time on a White Sox message board.
  18. They actually don't have to wait. They haven't revamped the analytics department. They've made hires for a big league coordinator to be a conduit to the staff but that's about it. There are lots of changes going on. Pro scouting, international scouting and research and development among them. It's late and they're behind but it's still encouraging.
  19. Not when the owner makes you wait until staff member's contract's expire.
  20. With the break in the schedule, I'm expecting the White Sox to hire a manager this week. I'd be fine with any of Will Venable, Donnie Ecker, George Lombard or Clayton McCullough.
  21. On 670 today, Bruce Levine said that Dodgers 1B coach Clayton McCullough is still a serious candidate and that Will Venable and George Lombard have interviewed.
  22. Yeah I haven't really dug deeply into the connections. I know that Clayton McCullough's dad is a longtime pro scout for the Royals and he also came up with Indians, played with Sizemore in minors and managed for Mark Shapiro in Toronto I don't believe so but three of his ex-coaches are on White Sox staff currently I guess I don't really have a preference. Skip Schumaker seems obvious but I'd be fine with any of Lombard, Descalso, McCullough or Venable honestly. It's so hard to know who will be good or not. I don't know why people think this. I agree with you but they did this last time and landed on Pedro Grifol.
  23. They're likely to reach a deal with comcast at some point and probably some non youtube tv streamers as well. It is also expected that they'll distribute direct to consumers in some fashion at some point as well via an app. The revenue brought in from local tv deals was a huge payroll driver though for majority of clubs which is a big issue. There is definitely another work stoppage coming.
  24. Fegan also reported that Schumaker is still in the mix, the Sox have told some candidates that they aren't finalists and that they'd like to make a hire by end of October and prior to GM meetings. I believe that these are the people we know of so far. Skip Schumaker (Former Marlins Manager) Grady Sizemore (Internal) George Lombard (Tigers Bench Coach) AJ Ellis (Special assistant in San Diego) Clayton McCullough (Dodgers 1B Coach) Phil Nevin (Former Angels Manager) Daniel Descalso (Cardinals Bench Coach) Will Venable (Rangers Bench Coach) Am I missing anyone?
