  1. I’m not deferring my opinion to anyone. He might be a #4 starter. I don’t think you understand what ceiling means though.
  2. Nope. It’s too early to make a determination on either guy. I’ll trust Brian Bannister on Drew Thorpe rather than giving up after 41 big league innings or whatever it’s been.
  3. I don’t think it makes sense to spend yet anyway. They should spend on stopgaps, flippable veterans and relievers to trade at the deadline. The Sox will be awful again in 2025. There’s no reason to spend a bunch of money to win 70 games when you can just win 60 games instead. They’ll be in contention for the #1 pick in 2026 draft. Should be pretty obvious now.
  4. Yeah he was definitely on board. He also recognized that it was a terrible hire and wanted to fire him much sooner than he was able to.
  5. No it’s not. They dumped all the Pedro guys. I think Katz will be safe with Bannister in tow going forward. Well that’s a Jerry decision. I think Getz would’ve launched Grifol awhile ago. Do you disagree with all the prospect publications who had him as a top 50 prospect in baseball?
  6. Yeah I just don’t think they were ever paying slot value for a 1B
  7. Of course there are. Guys like Proft aren’t interested in potential solutions or identifying the issues though.
  8. It is though. He’s a bad faith actor of the highest order. Exactly
  9. I don’t disagree with this. I like some of the additions to the system though. They need to totally revamp hitting side. Quero has had a great year. He’s mashing in AAA.
  10. I mean I think Vargas, Perez and Bonemer do have big upside. Guys you’re referring to just aren’t available on trade market in most cases.
  11. No. But the things Proft said are much more offensive than someone saying they’d bang his mother. That’s like a 7th grade level dig. I hear it weekly.
  12. And somehow there’s 15 pages on it
  13. Do you think Spiegel and Riordan made up the story?
  14. Right. And they spent no money on it. They needed to get superstar production out of Robert and anything out of Moncada and Eloy for this to be even a below average offense. That didn’t happen. Which moves should’ve been made with the budget given to improve this offense for 2024?
  15. He’s under contract and sometimes these things aren’t solely up to the guy who is supposedly in charge.
  16. I don’t agree. I just fundamentally don’t believe that the radio station did anything wrong in regards to Schriffen. Theyd much prefer that the White Sox were a winning operation. It’s way better when teams are good.
  17. True. I’m of the mind that they were likely to be the worst team in baseball regardless and the actual record doesn’t change that. I’m much more focused on what’s next. The day to day is meaningless right now.
  18. No I can’t. And I never would. But you can’t fix a disaster in one off-season. They need an org hitting guy. If they don’t find one, I’ll be critical. They need a new international director. I’ll be critical about that too if they don’t do it.
  19. Okay. I’ll do this a different way. You’re wrong about this. They’re credible.
  20. Hiring Brian Bannister is an organization changing move. Their pitching development is on par with the best in baseball right now imo. I also like the types of hitters that the org has added via the draft and trade deadline. I know it’s easier to just get mad and complain about stuff all the time though.
  21. I don’t think those guys are clowns. They have the best sports talk show in the city. They have plenty of credibility. Come on, man. It’s the most popular sports station in the city. Also, Dan Proft sucks. I wouldn’t have said that and Shane didn’t know his mother was dead but I don’t feel any sympathy for Dan Proft. I know these guys a bit. Matt Spiegel and Shane Riordan don’t just make things up. They had corroboration from players. I’ll take their word over White Sox PR. Exactly this. They didn’t start anything. Spiegel was critical of John Schriffen’s job performance. John is totally fair game. It’s market 3 my friend. Then he reacted and said the haters and losers thing. Multiple outlets tried to have him on to explain who the haters were and he declined. The criticism continued because he’s bad at his job. I don’t think it’s smart to be sniping back and forth with guys who have a platform from 2-6 every day and nothing to discuss.
  22. Getz has actually done multiple positive things. I’m not sure Grifol is actually good at anything.
  23. Being unwilling to trade in the division is madness. Doesn’t make sense when you’re going to be bad anyway.
  24. Thorpe could be fine with rest but if it’s Tommy John, 2025 isn’t a bad year to miss honestly. Better than 3 years from now

I know Bannister was tinkering with his pitch mix. 5 runs in the first and only hit the rest of the way.
